Dealing with Herpes? in Health ·

And who's throwing shade now?
stormylynx14 said:My whole goal is hitting financial independence within five years. I'm making moves toward that right now, which basically means saving up and getting into investing. Also just trying to learn how to be patient, I guess 🙄.
If I could somehow pull off starting my own business too, man, where would it go from there?

Yeah, that's my goal too. Honestly, I don't even do it alone—I've got some joint investments going with someone else... It's way easier to grind and cut back on stuff when you actually have specific plans for the future.

Thanks. I'll probably just ask my doctor; maybe they know more about switching things up.

so what even is Bimolin?
nobody ever suggested that to me...

It’s not even the most normal thing happening lately, but honestly, what can you do?
Some people get stressed out, meanwhile I just get herpes.
Taking B-Complex didn't really do anything for me.
Regarding that ointment stuff, I've been using this Hima-paste for a few years now. It's kind of skin-colored, so when you put it on, you have to spread it out a bit. If it's just a little herpes on your lip or skin, you can't even see it. I don't usually go too thick with it, otherwise it looks like a chunk of my skin is falling off.
I guess Virolex used to be available via prescription, right?

Frank Lee6 said:Herpes usually pops up in the morning when you've got a cold or chapped lips. There isn't much of a warning sign, but you can try to get ahead of it—maybe apply some ChapStick before bed.

The stages go from itching and tingling, to redness on the lip, then blisters, and finally a scab. You gotta act fast if you want it to actually work, especially before the blisters show up, because that’s how you seriously cut down the healing time.
Using Virolex cream (it's kinda pricey, but honestly worth it) stops the blisters from forming if you catch it early enough. Even if a blister already started, it knocks it out in like 24 to 48 hours without leaving that nasty wound behind.

1. Mine show up in all stages, and I just use ChapStick before bed.
2. Virolex was useless for me; the blisters lasted way longer.
Well, what can you do? It's hopeless. I've probably tried about 30 different ointments in my life—I actually have a list so I know what doesn't work. It never gives me a heads-up, but I know if I'm coming down with a cold, I'm gonna get one, so I just apply stuff preventatively.
...And I work with clients, so when a few spots flare up on my face, I'm not trying to hide them, people notice, but they don't need to be staring at them either. 48 hours is way too long for my ego, especially since I deal with this maybe twice a month on average.

Frank Lee6 said:Taking B-Complex helps, and when you start getting blisters, Virolex cream is basically magic.

You can pretty much "predict" a herpes outbreak—or rather, get ahead of it—by grabbing some Virolex (or whatever similar cream you have) the second you feel that itch or sting on your lip. If you catch it then, all the symptoms usually vanish within 24 hours without any actual blisters popping up.

The only annoying thing is that we don't always have the cream handy, and those blisters can show up just minutes after the itching starts.

nothing really works for me...
not even mentioning that I never get that itch or sting or whatever warning sign. All the people I know who deal with herpes say it just shows up in the morning, so you basically just miss all the signs.

For me, zinc paste works way too slow.
My miracle potion is lightning fast compared to that stuff.
It’s a huge deal for me since my herpes outbreaks are getting more frequent and showing up in clusters lately.

It’s not even available in the US, though since you're in Canada, maybe you've got a better shot than I do.🙂
I usually grab mine from Switzerland. It’s great because if an outbreak happens, it just "wipes" it out immediately. It's not like all this talk about trying to predict when you're gonna get hit.
I'll wake up in the morning with one, even if nothing at all warned me the night before.
Yeah, it's probably stress, or a weak immune system, seasonal changes, traveling... for me, it's always something like that. And honestly, this is the only thing that helps me out really fast.

Asking at the pharmacy for Hima-pasta? Man, they'll probably get it for you in record time. I guess.
The manufacturer is Mundipharma.
Ear infections in Health ·
My childhood was basically just one long cycle of ear infections.
After dealing with endless rounds of ointments, antibiotic cycles, rinses, drops, home remedies—like ten years of pure torture, honestly—and seeing way too many specialists, I finally got an answer. Turns out, my ears just don't produce enough of that specific natural lubrication, so instead of sliding out, the stuff just gets trapped and drains straight into the ear canal.
Some doctor, I can't even remember which one, finally figured it out, and everything’s been fine since then.
Just... please, don't let them pump your kid full of antibiotics and all that other junk if they haven't actually pinpointed what's going on.
If you can, go see the specialists. Even if you have to pay out of pocket because you can't get a referral, just do it. All those meds I took back then? Yeah, they probably did more harm than good, but hey, I guess I should thank God I still have my hearing.

Sure, there’s two sides to every story, but at the end of the day, this is still just a business.
My lawyer was actually super helpful and all, but man, the judge? Total nightmare. He was just nitpicking everything for no reason.
Everything worked out fine eventually, though.
I had some favorite names picked out too (like,www.sofake.com) but nothing stuck. Mostly because the whole thing felt weird without more English options, and honestly, every decent name we liked was already taken.
It all turned out okay in the end, I guess, but it was a total nightmare. It’s easy to toss out name ideas when it’s not your problem, but when it's your own stuff on the line, suddenly every suggestion feels "trash" or "lame."

I’m not trying to make things difficult.
I don't want some random handle; I want something that actually ties back to what I do. My business is small, so there isn't really any point in overthinking an "extra" fancy name. Let's just go with Sunshines LLC. If the local news wants to report on it every day, they can call it Tantra if they want—it's not like anyone cares if it's actually just bars and clubs.
I'm not signing everything with a corporate seal, and honestly, it’s impossible to run a webshop and have all the shipping materials under a different legal name. In my case, this whole thing is tied to a super niche group of people, and I doubt anyone outside the industry even knows what we're about. All I care about is having a name that triggers the right association immediately, and that's it.

The owners of Tantra have their own separate dive bars, so obviously their official company name is something else entirely.
My little setup only has this one name, and I'm not changing it now. Everything was fine before, but the judge sent it back twice because he claimed it wasn't "by the book"—even though he basically makes up his own rules as he goes.

Yeah, but I gotta have the actual company name on the stamp, so I can't just write "computers and stuff" or whatever.

honestly, having a solid company name really helped me out

Before you even think about jumping into this "fun" business, you gotta figure out a name that actually clears the Secretary of State. It might seem like a breeze, but trust me, it was nothing but a massive headache for me.

Same thing happened to us. They wouldn't approve the name, or basically what we actually do. Sounds pretty stupid now, but it was the only way.
And even though we have a company name, it’s not "1 X," it’s more like "one x."

for an LLC
maybe 20 $0.00 at the bank.
plus you gotta account for $1667 filing fees and whatever a lawyer charges to draft, sign, and handle all those letters and paperwork.

I couldn't find anything specific online, so I guess if you know a lawyer, just go straight to them. That's probably best.
The actual process is pretty quick, though. Like, less than a month.
We ran into some issues with the court registration, so ours dragged on a bit longer than it should have.

Good luck!
There's a ton of writing and red tape involved with the documents themselves, so if you need specifics, just ask.

Where am I even supposed to find it?

If you're in Chicago, you can grab it there, but if you're somewhere else, I don't know. Just hit up Whole Foods. They should have it, since that's where I get my stuff.
They definitely carry those kinds of products.

I think his name is Marius Fabre. I didn't catch the show, but I'm guessing that’s the brand they were talking about.
You can grab their soaps at Modcloth over on 72 Fifth Avenue, though they don't carry the laundry stuff. But honestly, their other products are way better than anything else out there for skin. They're kind of pricey, I guess, but they actually last.
I think you could find that specific flake soap at Target—well, maybe, I haven't been there in a bit.
It cleans great, but I wouldn't touch my whites with it. I think the box said it was some Marseille soap.
