Is drug use still a taboo subject in the USA?

we can just figure it out ourselves; you haven't actually told us anything specific about who you are or how you even help addicts 🙂

Nancy Ward37 said:Talia, I'm just saying you shouldn't mess around with drugs because they're basically designed to hook you.
Nancy Ward37 said:Just so you know, I used to be pretty tight with heroin, weed, and all that stuff. I work with the community too, so I know their programs and how they think inside out. That's why I'm asking which specific nonprofit you're helping, because those groups are usually anti-smoking. Also, point number two: every single heroin addict started out with weed and those joints you're talking about. And as for the theft and prostitution stuff, wake up—those aren't just clichés, things are actually way worse than that.

Luckily, she managed to get clean later. She said if things get desperate, you’ll do anything: steal, sell whatever's in the house, even rob a bank for cash, just to get by...
A huge chunk of those daily petty thefts—like ripping radios out of cars and stuff—are done by heroin addicts who honestly don't even care if they get caught. And yeah, you can spot heroin users on the street easily; they look pretty pathetic and sick.
Nancy Ward37 said:I’m afraid you have absolutely no clue. That weed habit of yours leads straight to heroin without any effort at all. Even the birds on the branch know that heroin addicts resort to theft. This isn't just some theory, it's a fact, and I'm not judging those people, I just think they need help. So, I can't believe this kind of nonsense.
Nancy Ward37 said:And what else? How would you even know how much theft there is? It's not like they're robbing banks for fun or whatever. Come on, clearly none of you have ever dealt with a junkie.
Nancy Ward37 said:I read through some of this because, honestly, you guys really know how to twist a story, so don't get mad if I end up repeating stuff already said.
When it comes to drugs, I think everything is just the worst. I can't believe you people are acting like getting high is somehow better than just having a drink. I don't get how anyone could claim that shooting heroin straight into your veins is even remotely the same thing as grabbing a Budweiser.
And I'm not even sure everyone has enough cash for cocaine just to feel good before going out. What about the people using heroin who run out of money and start stealing? It's a classic scenario.
That's not being judgmental or making things taboo—it's just a nasty reality.

Honestly, they get what they deserve. People would way rather blow a ton of cash on some BS magic pills or "miracle" detox drinks than actually sit down, think for two seconds, and exercise a little self-control. I guess that's just how it goes. 🙄

I'd honestly rather just starve. 🙏

I mean, yeah, two blue-eyed parents can have a kid with brown eyes, but honestly? It’s probably just because the first neighbor or priest you meet happens to have brown eyes. That's more about social stuff than actual genetics, I guess.😁

The church might as well just jump in and help out since they clearly have nothing better to do..
