Am I being a complete failure as a mother just because I want this baby to arrive right this second instead of waiting those last two weeks until my due date, especially since I am honestly just completely exhausted by this whole pregnancy and I desperately want to be able to roll over in bed without struggling? 🤷
Hannah Lewis2 said:Selling a car seat. Honestly, I just don't want my kid staring at me while I'm behind the wheel. ☕ Even if they fall asleep mid-trip, whatever... I’ll just hold them in my lap.

Where are you even supposed to go? For God's sake, you just gave birth and your only responsibility right now is staying home with your baby.
I don't know, Samuel Ross60... I honestly feel like you don't even deserve to call yourself a woman...
Michael Barrett11 said:Samuel Ross60, I’m glad you checked in when you did so we could all weigh in with some advice. Shirley gave you a pretty solid breakdown of the situation; if I were you, I’d probably just take her word for it.

For anyone interested, I am hosting a lecture this Friday afternoon at 5:00 PM called "Supernanny," and I will be providing organic snacks during the session along with a face mask for every participant to protect them from breathing in those nasty exhaust fumes.
There will also be a quick quiz at the end, and any participants who fail to meet the standards will be handed an abortion or adoption form on their way out depending on how far along they are in their pregnancy.

I'll just sell the dogs so I have enough cash to cover the abortion.

And what am I supposed to do about my husband?! Leave him just because we happen to share an opinion?!
Or are we meant to go seek counseling at a Mayo Clinic facility or something?

God, I almost caused such a disaster. It would be better if this child didn't even have a mother!

~~~Think positive~~~
YOU AREN'T IN COUNSELING?????? YOU ARE COMPLETELY USELESS!!!!!
Samuel Ross60 said:You’ve hit the nail on the head. 😢
Should I put the dogs down or just go get an abortion? Or perhaps the most logical path would be to embrace solitude and leave my husband behind entirely?
~~~Thinking positive~~~

Oof... that is a tough call to make. Honestly, you might be better off getting rid of the dogs just to be safe. Once that's done, you should really start studying pregnancy seriously so you don't accidentally eat the wrong thing or buy the wrong vitamins next time, and try to avoid too many ultrasounds since the radiation isn't great for the baby, plus you shouldn't let doctors do vaginal exams because there's a risk of opening up.
Around the halfway mark, you ought to start reading up on breastfeeding because that's the only right way to do it and babies need it for as long as possible. And whatever you do, don't take any medication during labor. Your job is just to suffer in silence.
Then, once you get home, you have to stare at your baby constantly to build that bond, and if you can, try not to even blink.
Samuel Ross60 said:Good grief, I didn't just pull that out of thin air! 🙂

Good luck looking for advice on a forum that's basically crawling with future activists trying to change everything.
Samuel Ross60 said:I could use some perspective here:
I’ve been entertaining this somewhat radical notion where I don't have my baby sleeping in the same bed as me, and instead, we move the crib into a separate nursery once they hit the two-month mark.
We would, of course, rely on a high-quality baby monitor.

Is this kind of thinking a sign that I’m fundamentally unfit for motherhood? Or should I just be looking into adoption instead?

A very anxious mother-to-be

You might as well just throw yourself away just to be safe, because if you put the baby up for adoption, you might end up with parents who actually let them sleep in their own room! :gasp:
My mother-in-law is honestly such a wonderful woman because she has never once spoken a harsh word to me or even given me a dirty look, but ever since I became pregnant, my tolerance for nonsense has plummeted and she’s started feeling incredibly draining.
For instance:
- First off, she actually thought it would be a great idea if I just came home from the hospital for a few days and then we all headed straight to the beach for the rest of the summer. To be honest, I am not comfortable with that idea at all because since Jack is our first baby, I have no idea how I’m going to handle everything, and with my hormones acting up, I’d much rather spend those initial weeks just being with my husband and enjoying our little family.
- Then we got back from shopping on Saturday and they dropped off our dog since he was staying with them, and she immediately starts asking what I bought. When I show her, she starts giving me all this unsolicited advice about how I shouldn't have bought those pacifiers or sun hats because I don't need them. She even mentioned that a 48-year-old colleague of hers said that Nuclear products are the absolute best. And then there's the comment about how it's not good to apply lotion every single day because it's bad for your skin, which is ridiculous because if I don't moisturize for ten minutes after my bath, I end up scratching myself raw by morning because my skin is so sensitive and dry.
- She also keeps questioning why I've already bought so much when there is still plenty of time left. I told her that I prefer to hunt for sales so I can spread out the expenses over a few months instead of dropping everything at once, but she just insists that there will always be more sales coming. She seems to forget that once wedding season kicks in, my husband works all week and then spends his entire weekend photographing weddings, so we won't have any time to go on a dedicated shopping trip.
- Finally, she keeps insisting that it would be best for our dog to stay at their house for a month once Jack is born, but I simply told her that isn't happening because he won't be the first or last dog to join a pack with a new baby.
Sam Baker6 here are just a few more reasons why you should stay far away from her 😁

- she actually tried to force a girl to be born, and when she ended up with a boy instead, she treated the whole thing like a disaster; it was a high-risk pregnancy from the start, and three different doctors told her there was only a fifty-fifty chance both she and the baby would make it out okay
- because she was so obsessed with having a daughter, she spent every single day drinking spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar since apparently that changes your biological sex if you didn't know
- I have known her since we were kids and she has always had short hair, but now she claims she’s going to get extensions (which is going to cost her about $667) and when my sister asked why she wouldn't spend that money on something useful, she just said the money gets wasted anyway but at least the extensions will still be there ☕
- my dog isn't even allowed in her house because their table is always messy, you can see piles of dust and grime under the couch, she never opens the blinds, and she actually put aluminum foil on the windows in the boys' room
- the six-year-old spends his entire life glued to a computer screen, he looks translucent because he's so pale and always has red eyes and dark circles, the four-year-old only finally ditched diapers this summer and still doesn't talk (but she clearly couldn't care less) and the two-year-old just bites everything in sight
- she stopped breastfeeding the five-month-old because she couldn't be bothered, so she switched him to solids, but since he kept rejecting everything she made, she started cooking this weird mixture of flour and goat milk with a few drops of lemon; when he was four months old she was feeding him formula and constantly feeding him while he lies there, and even though I suspect he has reflux, she refuses to take him to a doctor
- the kids call her mommy but they call their dad by his actual first name (WTF??!!)
- she reaches out to me all the time to tell me she has a strong feeling that I'm carrying a girl and that ultrasound technicians have already misdiagnosed me twice
- after six years together, she and her husband went to the movies for the first time to watch "Spring break," and she walked out halfway through to tell me in a whisper that it was way too soft and she felt awkward beyond belief, though I get it, considering she lives 1.9 miles isolated from society, with her longest trip being a 700-meter walk to the local elementary school once a week to drop off the oldest one

there is plenty more where that came from, but she is living proof that we really ought to start requiring licenses before people are allowed to have children.
Caroline, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out for you as soon as possible!

My blood pressure actually spiked the other day because of an acquaintance of mine who had four kids in just six years, never owned a single pet in her life, and then suddenly decided to get a dog, a cat, a guinea pig, and a hamster all within the last six months. About three years ago, she actually kicked me out of her house because my little dog—who is a Maltese mix, incredibly well-behaved, and always stays clean since she sleeps in the bed with us—accidentally wandered into her living room, and she told me I wasn't allowed to bring my dog over anymore because a stray hair might get into her baby's mouth and end up in its liver (!). I honestly still can't wrap my head around how that's even biologically possible, but hey, I guess someone with a high school diploma knows more about anatomy than I do with my college degree. And now, she has a cat sleeping in a playpen right next to the baby, and she lets the guinea pig and the hamster crawl all over the dining table while they eat.
Anyway, she sent me a message on Facebook the other day asking, "Have you thought about who you're going to leave your dog to when you have kids?" and when I asked what on earth she was talking about, she replied, "Oh, you know... she just doesn't seem very reliable around children..." 😕😕 😕
What is there even to say to that?
Honestly, I’m probably going to end up losing my mind from kissing my dad's disgusting ass just to stay on his good side. It would be a real stroke of luck if I actually get to live in a decent apartment for once, especially since I've got classes running straight from 9 to 4 on Monday without a single break, followed immediately by a painting workshop from 4:30 to 6:30.
god, I could just cry right now.
Strep throat symptoms and treatment? in Health ·
When I mentioned having negative immunity, I was just being descriptive, but the truth is my immune system really is quite weak right now. I haven't taken any antibiotics for two weeks now and I don't have any major symptoms, though I do get occasional discomfort in my urinary tract from time to time. I've been drinking cranberry juice constantly and I feel much better because of it, but if I miss even a single day, I immediately start feeling uneasy again.
I'll know the exact bacterial count once my lab results come back this Wednesday, but about twenty days ago, my levels were somewhere between 10,000 and 1,000,000.

I’ve been battling this for a while now, and my immune system has just been completely shot lately. I noticed my hair starting to thin out during that first month when I dealt with a cold sore that wouldn't clear up for three weeks, then I had a yeast infection, and by the fifth month, everything just peaked when I had to have an appendectomy. Since that surgery, I feel like my immunity has dropped well below zero, because just three weeks after coming home, I ended up with what my doctor thought was cystitis. I took Augmentin for ten days, but two weeks later the symptoms returned, so this time I was on Nitrofurantoin for ten days, only to be sent for a urinalysis which revealed, surprise surprise, strep. I finished a ten-day course of E-Flex.
On top of all that, I've been taking an immunity booster regularly for about twenty days now.
But honestly, after going through all those different antibiotics, I think I've become hypersensitive to them because I developed an allergy, so now I'm constantly applying some lotion to my skin, using Maxitrol eye drops, and taking Rinolan in the morning.
I just went to Quest Diagnostics to drop off a new urine sample for testing, and while I really hope it comes back negative, I have a bad feeling it won't.
I also forgot to mention that I've had a kidney ultrasound and even saw a urologist who actually laughed at me when I mentioned that my urethra occasionally feels painful.

Given my whole medical history, I'm really wondering how to actually get rid of this strep or at least minimize the chances of it coming back.

Thanks.
