8. If a competitor fails to submit a new prediction or misses the established deadline, their "Joker" prediction will be triggered automatically. To be clear: players are required to submit a fresh prediction for every single race. However, everyone is granted three "Jokers" per season. These act as an automatic safety net; if you miss a submission, one of your Jokers kicks in, and your most recent official prediction will be used for that race. Once you have exhausted all three "Jokers," no further points will be awarded for missed entries. At that stage, if you actually want to stay in the running, you'll have to start submitting new predictions again to remain competitive. If a competitor fails to submit a new prediction for two consecutive races, their teammate has the authority to kick them out of the team if they choose to do so. In that scenario, the individual will continue the championship on their own, unless they explicitly state otherwise.
9. To keep things fair and orderly, there is a very specific protocol regarding how predictions are submitted. A participant is only permitted to post their picks using the exact username they used to register for the competition—unless, of course, an administrator has stepped in to modify it. Furthermore, if a participant finds themselves banned, they are effectively barred from participating in any round that occurs while the ban is active. This rule applies to anyone whose ban extends at least until the submission deadline for the current round. However, there is one logical exception: if a user managed to submit a fresh prediction before the ban was actually implemented, that entry will still be honored and counted, regardless of their current status. Additionally, if a banned participant holds any unused "joker predictions," and they fail to submit a standard prediction for the round in which they are banned, their "joker prediction" will be applied automatically, just as it would be for any other competitor. It’s about maintaining the integrity of the game while ensuring the rules remain consistent for everyone.
10. In this league, competitors have total freedom to jump from one team to another whenever they please. However, you need to understand how the scoring works during a transfer: when a player moves, they don't take their previous team's cumulative points with them—those stay with the old squad. The individual points the competitor earned personally, however, remain tied to them. This same rule applies to anyone who gets knocked out of the competition. Essentially, a team's score starts fresh from the moment a new roster is formed. Just a heads-up: changing your team's name won't affect your standing or point totals. As for branding, teams are allowed two official name changes during the season, but before the season kicks off, you can change your name as many times as you want.
11. Let’s get some ground rules straight regarding how scoring works, because I want to avoid any unnecessary headaches later. First off, if you pick a driver who doesn't actually show up on the official FIA entry list for a specific race, you aren't getting any points for them. Period. It doesn't matter how much you liked them; if they aren't on the grid, they don't count toward your score. Similarly, if you leave a driver out of your ranking, you won't receive points for them—I don't care how "obvious" or "logical" it seems that you missed a certain name; if they aren't on your list, they don't exist for scoring purposes. Your points are calculated strictly based on the positions you assign to each driver. If you make a typo and write down the wrong number, that is on you; we will process your ranking exactly as you wrote it, even if it's an error. Furthermore, if you fail to provide a position for a driver, those points simply won't be tallied. There is also a strict rule against repetition: if you list the same position or the same driver more than once, you won't receive points for any of those entries. Think of it like a flawed contract—if the terms are broken, the whole clause is void. Additionally, if you overstuff your list by naming more drivers than would normally start a race under standard conditions, you won't earn any extra points for those surplus names. Finally, for those drivers where you haven't specified a position, they will be treated as NOP (No Points). However, if you submit your entire ranking without providing any position numbers at all, we will treat that as a ranking without any NOPs. Stick to the format, follow the logic, and let's keep this organized.
12. Copying someone else's prediction is strictly prohibited. This rule is only reviewed and enforced if a participant files an official complaint, and that review will only take place once the deadline for posting predictions on this thread has passed. For clarity, "copying" is defined as posting more than 75% of the drivers—including all groups, rounded up to the nearest whole number—in the exact same positions as another prediction already submitted for that specific race. Please note that older predictions used as jokers do not count toward this calculation. If you are caught copying a prediction, your entry will be disqualified and marked as invalid.
13. The standings for this competition are calculated strictly based on the official results released by the FIA immediately following the conclusion of the race (the preliminary order). Any subsequent corrections or adjustments made by the FIA are not taken into account. For the purposes of calculating No Points (NOP), any driver listed on the official FIA entry list who fails to secure a scoring position will be counted, regardless of whether their status is marked as DNF, NC, or Retired. Furthermore, per FIA regulations, a driver is considered to have retired if they complete less than 90% of the race distance. As for the length of the race itself, that is determined solely by the FIA; they decide how many laps are run through either their standard procedure or via an extraordinary ruling. Drivers who fail to qualify during the qualifying sessions and therefore won't be participating in the race will only be calculated as NOP if they were officially included on the FIA entry list.
14. Should any controversial situation arise during the competition that isn't explicitly covered by the specific points in these Regulations, the Race Director will make the final call. They are expected to use common sense and uphold the fundamental principle of fair play. These Regulations go into effect upon being posted in the official Championship thread dedicated to rules and race results; however, they can be modified via special amendments if—and only if—it becomes clear later in the season that such changes are absolutely necessary for the smooth operation of the competition.
15. The Race Director can be replaced at any point during the season if a majority of the competitors vote for a new director who is willing to accept the position. Similarly, disputed rules can be amended, but under no circumstances will any changes be applied retroactively.
1. The ESPN F1 Championship is an open competition where players and teams can sign up at any point throughout the entire season. Registrations: To be officially considered part of a team, you need to follow two specific rules. First, you must submit a post clearly stating which team you are joining. Second, if you weren't already registered last year, you are required to claim a unique personal number between 2 and 99. Once you pick your number, it’s yours for the remainder of the championship—no switching mid-season. Consider this the entry requirement; without these two steps, you aren't on the roster. The championship director is going to decide who gets first dibs on picking their numbers using a strict "first come, first served" policy. In addition to that primary number, they should provide two backup numbers to be used if their first choice is already taken. To keep things fair, the current individual championship leader gets priority for the number 1 spot. You can't just jump into an existing team whenever you feel like it. To sign up, you absolutely need to get the green light from at least one player who was part of that squad last season. No exceptions. The competition is structured around two-person teams, though it's important to note that individual standings and team rankings are calculated separately. Look, it’s pretty simple: if players don't bother to sign up for the team, they aren't contributing to the team competition. You can't expect to reap the rewards of a collective effort if you refuse to step up when it's time to register. It's basic accountability. To be officially considered a participant, you have to actually sign up for the competition and make sure your prediction is submitted within the designated timeframe. No late entries, no exceptions. If a competitor fails to select their own number, the director will simply assign one at their own discretion.
The official race results and standings will be posted by the admin, and once the moderator pins them to the front page of this thread, they are officially final. Listen, let's get one thing straight to avoid any unnecessary headaches later: if you want to submit your predictions, entries, or anything else, you have to do it in text format right here in this specific thread. This is the only official way to participate in the Championship. Anything posted in some other thread won't be recognized, and frankly, I'm not going to waste my time hunting down entries elsewhere. If it’s not here, it doesn't count. Period.
2. The championship operates on a simple premise: within the designated timeframe, you submit your full predicted driver standings for the entire grid. To round out your entry, you also need to pick two specific drivers: the one starting from pole position and the one who clocks the fastest lap of the race. You can post your predictions as soon as the previous deadline closes, but you must have them submitted no later than the scheduled start of Free Practice 3 for the upcoming race weekend. This rule applies universally across the entire season. If you change your mind, don't sweat it—you can revise your picks or submit entirely new ones as many times as you like, provided you hit that final deadline.
3. The scoring system works like this: The primary points for every race are awarded based on the current F1 scoring system: 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1. This goes to the top ten finishers who have accumulated the most secondary points during the race. The points for each race are awarded according to the following system: Groups 1-3 – 5 points + 1 Group 4-10 – 3 points + 1 Group 11-16 – 2 points + 2 Group 17-22 – 1 point + 2 NOP Group - 3 points Pole position plus fastest lap—that’s a solid 4 points and an extra 2.
4. Points are awarded based on the specific groups outlined in Section 3 of the Rulebook. Additional points for hitting exact positions are distributed across two separate categories: Group 1: 1st–3rd, 4th–10th – you get 1 point for each position. Group 2: positions 11-16, 17-22, and the Republican Party + FL—all earn 2 points for those spots. Regarding the bonus points (2 points) for the Republican Party + FL group: these are only awarded if a contestant correctly predicts both drivers within that specific group. In the official race results, each driver is recorded individually with 1 point assigned to them. Therefore, if you nail both, you effectively secure one correct position per driver, totaling two points for the group.
5. The criteria used to determine the race results are as follows: A player who consistently racks up more secondary points is clearly the superior competitor. In the event of a tie following step A), the tiebreaker goes to the player with the lower sum when calculating the difference between their actual finishing position and their predicted position in the overall standings. In this scenario, all drivers are accounted for based on the official order established by the FIA and the competitors. Regarding the "Bjesomar Criterion": The driver standings are determined using the preliminary race results. For any drivers not explicitly included in those results, their ranking is pulled from the official entry list provided on the FIA website. Please note that any drivers not included in the initial pool are excluded from the calculation entirely. Additionally, the Republican Party and FL groups are not factored into this specific criterion. In the event of a tie following step B, the advantage goes to the player who submitted their updated prediction first. If neither party has submitted a revised prediction, we default to whoever sent in their original one earlier. Furthermore, if one player fails to submit an updated prediction entirely, they automatically forfeit that edge to their opponent.
6. The criteria used to determine the final individual standings are as follows: a) The competitor with the higher number of main points takes precedence. b) In the event of a tie after applying rule a), the competitor with more wins is ranked higher. c) Should a tie persist after rule b), the competitor with more secondary points is favored. d) If there is still a tie after rule c), we look at the number of second-place finishes, then third-place finishes, and so on.
6.1. The criteria for determining the overall team standings are as follows: a) The team with the higher number of main points ranks higher. b) In the case of a tie after rule a), the team with more wins takes the lead. c) If tied after rule b), the team with more secondary points is preferred. d) In the event of a tie after rule c), the team with more second-place finishes, then third-place finishes, etc., wins out.
6.2. The criteria for determining the overall Accurate Position Trophy standings are as follows: a) The player with the highest number of accurate positions ranks higher. b) If tied after rule a), the player who participated in fewer rounds is ranked higher. c) In the event of a tie after rule b), the player with the higher number of maximumly hit positions in a single round is favored. d) If tied after rule c), the player with the higher number of maximumly hit positions over two (then three, then four...) rounds is selected.
7. If the number of participating teams changes during the season, only the number of teams in the final group will be adjusted within the championship. For instance, instead of covering positions 17-22, the group might shift to 17-20 or 17-24. Any changes to scoring groups under this article take effect automatically without prior notice the moment the FIA or a team officially announces they will enter or withdraw from one or all Formula 1 races. This also applies if the decision is announced before free practice and the team fails to show up for Friday's sessions. Note that this specific article and its subsequent changes will not be triggered by other circumstances—such as a lack of spare parts or driver injuries—that cause a team or driver to miss practice, qualifying, or the race itself.

I have to admit, things were incredibly tense and went right down to the wire! Kyle Edwards5 is proving once again that he is absolutely firing on all cylinders right now!!!
And let’s not forget that he secured the title alongside Ssunga and TAZ! There's no denying it—he earned this win fair and square.
Thanks to everyone for getting involved, and I truly hope we can keep this momentum going into next season!!! 😁
