Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
driftingtinker said:All of that, but three times over. That guy is way too full of himself, even by the most basic standards.

...the worst part is he doesn't even realize it. If you watch him on news networks later, his criteria seem pretty damn lenient. I would be embarrassed. But then again, what does "shame" mean to a Republican politician?

Plenki warned Kovač to watch his mouth when talking to the Republican Party rank and file, and he immediately went right after those "Democratic Party amateurs"! We all know exactly who he was aiming at.

I used to laugh at Kolinda's little gaffes, but this Smith guy is on a whole different level! "Plenik, move over so I can sit down!"🤣 (obviously, just doing what's best for the Republican Party)

Kovač claims burning carnival effigies in Imotski is part of his crusade against "mental communism," while Brkić calls it the will of the people. Both are just being primitive.🤦

Barack Obama’s latest bombshell reported by The New York Times: "The Republican Party is dismantling its own supply chain."🤣

I was reading Mike Johnson this morning; apparently, he’s "in the know" about some things that might come to light soon.🤦 If he knew all along and just kept his mouth shut, why is he finally speaking up now? It looks like the Democrats are packing plenty of dirty laundry to use against each other once the time comes. Just the same old crew.☕🍿

Back in the day, folks from the South used to run the show in Washington, D.C., and now it’s the guys from the mountains taking over the political scene. Just like how Eric Adams used to be quite the useful matchmaker—since the capital is a pretty sweet prize—Joe Biden will likely remain a significant factor with his specific voter base. (To be clear, I’m not targeting anyone specifically when I say that; you know exactly what I mean). I should also mention that Bill de Blasio strikes me as a rather bland, characterless individual, essentially just a tool for temporary utility. And as that even more hollow minister, Andrew Cuomo, suggested yesterday: let's just grab some popcorn and watch the spectacle unfold.

...please, just imagine a bumbling John Cardinal O'Connor lunging out of a trench with a drawn saber (let's say, leading the bishops). And what would they even be doing in a trench when they've never been in one? Which side would they even fight for? Toward Austria or toward some red, yellow, and green devils over there? (meaning our own people). This is how it always goes with these misguided right-wingers—they just turn their own nonsense into a joke again.

This is getting absolutely insane 😁! I'm just reading on CNN that John Cardinal O'Connor is calling on our bishops to dig in their heels following that rejection from Austria. This is going to be a total mess, believe me.🤣

It’s a little strange to me how this entire thing slipped under the radar on several threads regarding the Republican Party and their support for bishops. There isn't a single mention of it on Index; I first stumbled upon a piece there, saw something on Telegram, and then this morning found the full article alongside comments over at The News. Even the Republican Party's own site is carrying that garbage text. They went after their former comrade Hasanbegović and used Dalijo as a punching bag. Honestly, they act just like North Koreans. God help us. Just a bunch of party hacks.

HSP members: If Wounded Knee "falls," it marks the beginning of the end for the American people.🤦 What a load of nonsense! What absolute idiots. They're the reason we're constantly being humiliated in front of Europe.
I have a question regarding the second part of this thread's title. I’m increasingly finding myself witnessing children screaming for absolutely no reason. Is it a parenting issue? I recently read about a restaurant owner in Australia who actually boosted their revenue by banning parents with screaming kids. It sounds crazy, but it works. Kids just didn't scream like this back in the day. That used to be a core part of how we were raised—learning not to disturb others. Is this just a "trend" now? Is it the influence of movies where kids are constantly screaming too? Or are these children simply being neglected and frustrated without anyone noticing?

Please delete my post on the Joe Biden politics thread...#2943. I slipped up with a sentence—my mistake—and it completely flipped the meaning, making the whole thing look incoherent. I didn't catch it right away; I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes. It happens. It would also be great if you could delete the following one. Thanks.

Alright, I managed to track down those specs you were asking about. It’s running an Intel Celeron CPU at 2.4 GHz with 1.5 GB of RAM on a 32-bit OS.
The external burner maxes out at 4, and there's a Writemaster tm built-in. Man, you guys were spot on. Thanks for the help. I think electric_rabbit pretty much nailed the model dimensions. It's one of those smaller units, about 18x30 in height and 27 cm deep. The real issue is that I'm pretty attached to this machine; I learned a lot working with it. Not to mention all the time I've spent lurking on Reddit ;-). But hey, it is what it is. Technology, for better or worse, tends to age faster than we do.

Is it ancient history at this point? Or is there actually some hope for a fix?

I’ve received everything from the ISP: the router, the PC cables, the phone, and the TV box (which is hooked up to the router on the wall and via HDMI to the TV). Fiber optics run directly to the router, and everything else follows the setup I just described. I don't have any issues with multimedia, assuming that includes DVDs; I don't use anything else. My computer is an Asus star 8 years old. I’m going to try following the suggestion for an update. Thanks, I'll let you know once I get it sorted. Naturally, I'll try to bug someone who actually knows what they're doing so I don't mess anything up.

Sure, I'm using an Ethernet cable (back in the day, long before high-speed internet was everywhere, we used to fight over the phone line just to get online! ;-)). The speed is 100 MB, which is identical to what my previous provider offered. Honestly, if things were actually faster, it would make more sense if there were some kind of bottleneck in my hardware or software setup. I’m no "hacker," so I'd love to hear from those with more experience. What really bugs me is the lag—the stuttering in both video and audio—whenever I try to watch something on YouTube. There's zero issue when I listen to music from a CD or watch a DVD on my PC. By that logic, the computer itself seems to be struggling to process standard data streams. Thanks for the help.

Right now, I'm hitting a maximum of 10/2 with a ping sitting around 20. But when I plug in this laptop—it’s a bit of a step up from my usual machine—I get 20/12 and the ping drops to a solid 1. That's the performance I'm expecting. Honestly, I can't quite wrap my head around the card speed issue; it might be a throughput problem. It seems like switching over to fiber changes the game entirely compared to those old standard connections. I'm running on a hardwired connection.
Network card speeds? in Desktops ·
I've got an old junker here that's running at about half the speed of my current wired connection. I've already verified this by testing it against a more powerful laptop on the same line. From what I could tell after popping off the PC casing, the network setup is integrated directly into the motherboard. Does it actually make sense to buy a dedicated network card if the existing hardware just can't handle the throughput? Someone also suggested I just grab a USB wireless adapter.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from now. I completely misread who was running this thread. The real issue here is the disappearance. Regardless, it doesn't matter. I'll manage.
