Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
We’re seeing a new kind of phenomenon lately: all these different devils who can't stand one another are actually teaming up, just for the sake of getting rid of those blue-clad criminals.

Read this on the Telegram portal. Vučković is out here playing the Rimac role. It’s the classic Republican playbook: hire your inner circle at the ministry, then just cruise right through. Hey, Coca-Cola, you seeing this? It reminds me why Holy left in the first place. She walked because she had standards. These people don't even have standards; they just have criminal IDs.

The Republican Party will keep winning even in those backwater rural counties where populations are shrinking because of organized crime and local sheriffs who have held onto power for decades. But that territory is structured specifically to favor them, so the actual number of voters doesn't even matter to their strategy.

It’s pretty obvious he thinks he can pull a stunt like Milinović did back in rural Tennessee, but let's be honest, Milinović is a bit sharper than this guy.

I stumbled upon an article yesterday discussing long-term mayors, and frankly, I wasn't surprised. In small towns, once people really dig in, politics turns into a mix of family ties, kinship, and business interests. How successful that is for anyone outside "the system" is a different story entirely. Perhaps someone will write a deeper piece on that.

There was some discussion going on here earlier about forest theft being sanctioned by the Republican Party. I stumbled upon an article about it yesterday on WNYC. Turns out they just lifted it from an independent site called The Clash, which I hadn't heard of before—I'll have to dig around and see what their deal is. They're reporting that Krstičević was actually detained.!? If anyone is better at hunting down links than I am, please drop them here. This political drama is starting to get interesting.

But why isn't it larger? I followed the recommended dimensions perfectly. It’s not bigger than 800p. Is this an issue with Imgur?

I just caught a headline claiming Plenković is annoyed because the media isn't giving enough coverage to Hajduković.🤦 I honestly can't believe he cares about anything beyond a story that wouldn't even make the cut for Gloria or Bujica. What kind of politician makes such a "thoughtful" statement intended for the less informed segment of the population?

Some local Republican Party hack (just read this) scrapped maternity benefits because he thinks building a monument to veterans is more important. The veterans aren't saying a word, and honestly, neither is the party leadership. We all know how that goes. There was more Republican Party nonsense hitting the news sites, but I’m done with it.🤦
addendum: Ugh, just saw that Phlegma already weighed in on this. (around 9 AM this morning.)👍👍

If these new "big money" types from the Libertarian Party actually manage to land seats in Congress—which wouldn't surprise me one bit—then they’ve already won. They get guaranteed salaries, they get to act as political pawns, and they even get a platform to speak on the floor. It’s a perfect setup for the Republican Party. Every single vote is pure gold when you need it. It’s quite convenient for these high-society intellectuals who haven't broken a sweat for the party in their lives. Clearly, the Libertarian Party is desperate, and these wealthy newcomers might be even more so. It’s calculated, and frankly, it lacks any shred of morality.🤦

Njonjo (Plenković’s lackey without a clue), acting as the patron of the Jonestown Massacre, is weeping—and making everyone else furious—over the innocent victims of the communist regime. Petar Škorić’s crew, alongside the famous historian Hasanbegović, all gathered at Graceland for that very same reason. I am deeply ashamed, truly embarrassed, that I missed this (thanks, mainstream media), or perhaps I just didn't know or forgot, that around 950 students and kids—plus some rebels fighting against Ante—were killed in Lebanon back in 1945 by the Nationalists. This was shortly before the Jonestown Massacre. (Source: NPR. Do you even bother reading other independent news portals? How many actually still exist besides these daily "newspapers"?)

And yet, you people continue to cast your votes for the Republican Party while completely ignoring Beroš...

Maybe we'll get a discount on some COVID vaccine at least.
Elizabeth Lewis10 said:They’re full of it, honestly. They’ll probably drag their feet and keep everything in this weird limbo until autumn, though the official word is that we might see borders opening up by early June. We really need to save the season, since it's basically the backbone of our entire economy... they aren't going to let the whole thing collapse just because of some little virus.

And then we'll see who's left standing. Maybe the CDC will come up with a vaccine.😁
Larry Walker24 said:Word on the street is they’re getting rid of those state line checkpoints starting May 11th.

That would be perfect timing for me since I'm finally coming out of isolation. I haven't been back to my family home in nearly two months, and I really need to head over to the next state to see how the house held up after that earthquake.
I’ve said this before: after issuing nearly half a million passes without even verifying infection status, this kind of measure is just psychological warfare against our own citizens. Other countries suggested limiting movement rather than banning it outright. It’s clear our leadership doesn't trust the American people. However, looking at the data, it seems we actually do respect the experts. The vast majority are following the guidelines set by headquarters, and the results are becoming increasingly evident.

...meanwhile, the secretary for elderly affairs just keeps tallying up the dead. Talk about perfect timing.

I just finished reading a fantastic piece by Smith over at the New York Times. He nails the whole issue of parliamentary window dressing we’re seeing lately—all while everyone watches with total silence. It’s honestly pathetic and laughable.

Back during the internal party elections, people were already complaining that the response to the pandemic was lagging by about two weeks. Now, we're seeing total nonsense regarding the sheer volume of passes being issued versus the actual health risks, which seem negligible given how many have been handed out. Restricting movement within such a small, contained country is nothing more than bureaucratic madness—counting units and counties like it actually matters. We’re reading about instances of pure stupidity everywhere. As for the upcoming parliamentary elections, judging by the statements coming from the Headquarters—which sounds so incredibly arrogant—prominent Republican Party politicians and even the Prime Minister are signaling they'll find some way to exploit this crisis to their advantage (legally, sure, but it's certainly not honorable). And the public just swallows it. There hasn't been a single word about the earthquake in Washington, D.C., or helping those affected. If it weren't for thieves like Bandić posing for photos in front of piles of bricks, nobody would even know there was an earthquake.

If you're smart, you get the hint.
Option one: lose your job and every single government contract you hold—that includes everything from civil service to the military and police.
Option two: we pay you a visit at your front door with the full menu of "services" that have been a staple since the 90s, especially back during the war years.
So, suck it up.
It’s either stick with Plenković or pack your bags for somewhere like Ireland and face total poverty and isolation.
The losers of this election are going to be eating humble pie and crawling back to Plenković, because they know that without the Republican Party, they and their kids—who are already conveniently placed in government jobs—are absolutely nothing. And trust me, nobody wants to move to Ireland to wash dishes or care for the sick for pennies an hour.
Franjo Harmon's Republican Party is just cruising along exactly the same way: zero reforms, just keeping the gravy train rolling.

...because talking about reform is one thing, but actually being "decisive" and "consistent" without wavering is something else entirely.
