Submitting annual financial reports through an online portal?
I'm trying to upload my RGFI documentation** Add attachment! But the damn thing won't let me attach anything. What am I doing wrong here?

Seriously, go double-check which browser you're even running. You might be stuck on some ancient version that belongs in a museum. The IRS and Regos aren't even the same deal—they're totally different sites and they don't work the same way at all. Personally, I was always fighting with Regos back in the day, like three years ago when everything was just starting out.

I'm still rocking Internet Explorer 9 myself.
If you aren't using it, maybe try installing it. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ernet+explorer

Look, I’m telling you, your issue is almost certainly with Java. Are you even running the latest version? Or maybe you’ve got Java disabled somewhere deep in your Internet Explorer settings.

Or, honestly, you might have just completely missed adding the URL to your trusted sites list in the Internet options.
-Go to trusted sites - then sites - and manually punch in the Regos address.

I'm going to shoot them an email immediately because if I can't get this sorted, there's no way I'm getting my sales tax filed!

Look, just try tweaking these settings. Open up Internet Explorer and follow these steps exactly:

-tools
-Internet options
-security
-custom level - download - set to "enable"
-trusted sites - download - set to "enable"
-trusted sites - sites - add the registration URL here

I seriously can't believe they're actually gonna let them handle their own US Chamber of Commerce dues.
IRS and Tax Filing Issues in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Yeah, but we never even covered the totals form during our training at the FBI.
We did go over it for the US Chamber of Commerce, though, right?
How are they supposed to know what this year's advance payment looks like? I need to send them something. But how and where am I even supposed to do that?
It used to be right there on the old IRS site, don't you remember?
IRS and Tax Filing Issues in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
There’s zero option on the IRS portal for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce dues form.
Is this just some massive glitch where nobody's sending them anymore, or are people straight up just stopping their payments?

rapidgull9 said:Maybe I’ve got this wrong, but when you look at how much easier and way cheaper it is to just set up a standard corporation, I honestly think it’s the smarter move. That’s exactly what led me to my own decision in this whole "sole proprietorship vs. corporation" debate.
As for whether or not I need an accountant? Honestly, asking that feels like asking if I need a primary care doctor versus a specialist dentist... it's a ridiculous comparison. Look, I apologize if my comment rubs anyone the wrong way, but I really wanted to point out that having a skilled, professional accountant is absolutely vital for any entrepreneur. I truly, sincerely hope that this "I can do it all myself" mentality falls apart once we are fully integrated into the USA. Once we're dealing with the massive complexity of tax laws where it isn't just one single rulebook anymore, but rather thousands of pages of regulations used by different states, people are going to realize they can't wing it. Maybe then, finally, this profession will actually get the respect it deserves.

Look, once we're in the USA, nothing about bookkeeping is actually going to change.

I honestly have no clue what you were trying to get at with that comment. If anything, keeping the books here in America is way more of a headache because the rules are constantly shifting under our feet compared to somewhere like Germany.

What’s the deal when my Chase debit card is about to expire?
Mine runs out in like a month.
Has anyone actually dealt with this yet? Need some advice before I scramble!

Robert Thomas11 said:Could someone please walk me through the process of filing my GFI via the IRS website? What are the specific steps involved—once I have completed the forms on the official pages, what comes next? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

You can't use the IRS site to send over the GFI.
That stuff only goes straight through the FINNIN server.

Timothy Morgan38 said:Look, this isn't meant to be an attack or anything... I have NEVER charged anyone anything extra...

Let's look at an example...

A sole proprietorship pays $333 (including tax) per month for bookkeeping services, and that covers the tax filings, all the forms, everything—reconciliations, payroll onboarding, terminations, filing with the IRS, Social Security, etc. (total annual cost $4.00)

A corporation pays $667 monthly, which includes everything similar to the sole proprietor, plus additional state filings, tax returns, reconciliations, and so on. Total annual cost—$8000

Some clients can't even be bothered to bring their own files, so I just throw that in as a courtesy too...

Maybe I'm an idiot for doing it this way—probably am...😕
Maybe I'll change my modus operandi eventually...
🤷
I should also mention that I handle all the federal forms, state filings, IP, ID-1, IP, all the payroll paperwork, termination notices, and all the filings for Medicare and so on.

Am I a moron?????

Nah, you're definitely not.
Honestly, being a bit more flexible with pricing right now—especially with the economy being such a dumpster fire—is way smarter than just losing your entire client base.

I had this former accountant of mine who started hiking her rates on everyone, and guess what? She ended up totally unemployed because she drove everyone away, which eventually forced her to lay off her assistant. She actually complained about it later, but man, it was too little, too late.

I've even got buddies telling me their CPAs are starting to jack up prices and even charging extra for basic reports. They're already looking for the exit door.

So, you gotta weigh it up—do you want to keep things affordable and stay busy, or play hardball and end up with zero clients?
You're a straight shooter and you clearly know your stuff; it shows in everything you post here.

So, I was digging around under the hood of this VTi setup today, and man, let me tell you—it’s a whole different beast once you actually get your hands greasy. It’s not just some basic engine swap; it’s like trying to tune a high-performance racing machine while sitting in the middle of a crowded garage in Detroit. Everything is tight, everything is cramped, and if you don't know exactly what you're doing, you're gonna end up stripping a bolt or snapping a sensor and crying about it later. It’s honestly like trying to fix a Tesla with nothing but a screwdriver and a prayer. You think you have enough room to reach that one specific gasket, but nope—the frame is right there, mocking you. But once you get past that initial frustration? That’s when the magic happens. The way the airflow hits those components is basically the automotive equivalent of a perfectly timed drum solo. It’s punchy, it’s aggressive, and it just feels *right*. If you aren't prepared to sweat through your shirt and swear at a stubborn bolt, don't even bother messing with this kind of tech. It’s pure, unadulterated mechanical soul. kaže:
Look, I don't charge extra for my year-end statements or tax filings. It’s just part of the deal.🤷 That’s already baked into my monthly bookkeeping fee... honestly, I'm not charging anything extra for it right now... though, looking at the workload, maybe I should be.😕

Honestly... I’ve seriously never heard anyone say they don't charge extra for that. Like, ever. Every single place I’ve been to adds an extra fee, and let's be real—everyone's pricing is all over the map.
I gotta hand it to you—major respect. I’m tipping my hat on this one. 👍Look, I don't care what kind of monthly retainer they're pulling in. It doesn't matter if they're dropping serious cash every single month. At the end of the day, you’ve gotta show some actual respect to the client. Period.
Man, don't even get me started. I learned my lesson the hard way with my last accountant... that person actually had the nerve to hit me up with extra fees on top of everything else! Total nightmare. $167Honestly, I just hit my limit. I got so pissed off that I finally called it quits and decided to go find someone else.
Look, I’m telling you—I am finally, actually, legitimately satisfied right now. Everything's finally clicking.
And I see there are even better ones out there... the types who spend their whole lives running those bookshops just to give everything away for free.

Kate Hernandez said:Trust me, I know exactly what it means to settle the score. 🙂 Thank God I've never had to do that all by myself. 😁 But hey, I know exactly what kind of work we're talking about here...

I’m just looking for some ballpark figures, purely for my own sanity. I actually got an offer yesterday, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s even in the same universe as reality. Honestly, my gut is telling me it’s way off, but I figured I’d check in here first before I write it off entirely. Just want to see if anyone else has seen something similar.
Still nothing. Not a single word back yet...

Here, maybe this helps you out.
My accountant is charging me $0.50 plus tax this year. Honestly, I'm pretty happy with it since my old guy used to charge me double.
Some people definitely overcharge, though.
But really, it's all about which firm you use—prices vary wildly from one place to the next. It mostly depends on how much heavy lifting you have to do for that year-end report.
That's usually how they set the price... at least, that's my take on it.
C-section: Questions and potential complications... in Women's Health ·
If everything looks fine, there’s zero reason to go slathering anything on it.

Why would she even bother with the ointment? Is she terrified she’s gonna end up with a scar or what?
How much can we actually trust those scales that claim to measure body fat along with your weight?
I've got one sitting right here in my bathroom, and I’m seriously wondering if the numbers it's spitting out are legit or just total guesswork.
Charles Hayes said:Honestly, I feel like sticking with a major public institute is a way better bet than some random private clinic!
Word on the street is that if you go to Stambouk, they make you sign some crazy waiver basically saying "if we screw up, it's not our fault!"
Plus, I heard they’ve got those cutting-edge lasers over in Russia!

Sounds like you've already made up your mind about heading to Russia. You even speak Russian?
You're gonna need it just to understand the paperwork... and you'll have to stay there for at least two days if you're just doing one eye. Nobody's operating on both eyes the same day, obviously—you'd need follow-ups after that. Have you thought about how you'll handle the check-ups there? Like, you'll probably have to fly back for a follow-up right after a month.
Chloe Nguyen3 said:Don't get it twisted, I'm not trying to downplay what she's going through. Honestly,
her prescription just keeps climbing every single year—she’s basically hitting the -13 mark right now.
If you ask me, she needs to step up and do something about it, because at this rate, she won't even be able to hold down a job soon.
That's why I'm digging for info from people who actually went through laser surgery when their vision was already that shot.

BTW, I've been rocking glasses since I was eight, but my prescription is peanuts and actually getting better. I reckon by the time I hit 35, I might finally ditch the specs for good.

Look, your friend could at least sit down and have a real talk with a doctor. Every situation is totally different. There are some patients out there where there just isn't any fix. You gotta go through all the tests first, then the doc tells you what's actually happening and what can be done, and *then* you make the call.
Nymph said:So, I’ve been chatting with a few different eye doctors lately, and honestly? They’re all being super cagey when it comes to LASIK or any vision correction surgery. From what they're telling me, the whole thing still feels pretty experimental—like, results are all over the map. One person gets the surgery and their prescription vanishes forever, totally fine. But then you’ve got others where the vision regresses after a while, or even worse, their prescription actually gets higher... The biggest headache for me, though, is that they said once you go through with it, you can't really wear contact lenses anymore. At least, that's the word on the street. I use soft contacts and I am loving them right now. I just can't bring myself to risk losing that option by jumping into surgery.

I mean, what else is an eye doctor gonna tell you? Once you get the surgery, you aren't their patient anymore, and those docs make their living off patients. Just think about it for a second and don't let anyone sell you a dream.
The surgery is, in my book, basically a 95% to 100% success rate.
Peter Morris58 said:

I heard women shouldn't get the surgery if they plan on having kids—apparently all those contractions cause your vision to drift back to where it was before?

That is total nonsense! What on earth does giving birth have to do with eye surgery?
Honestly, I’m hearing about this "vision returning" thing for the first time right here on this forum.

Look, if you go through with the procedure and it works—and let's assume we're talking about a 100% success rate here—your vision isn't just going to snap back to being blurry. The only thing you’ll deal with is the standard age-related decline that every single human on this planet eventually hits. No way around that one.
Plus, even if things don't hit that perfect mark the first time, you can usually get a correction done after a year... which should be baked into the initial cost anyway. I'm pretty sure follow-up checkups are included too.

If my prescription was hovering around a 13, I wouldn't even hesitate. There's basically nothing to lose at that point.
My sister had a 3.5 in one eye and maybe a bit less in the other... she says getting it done was a total game-changer for her life.
Basically, those kinds of procedures tend to work better when your prescription is higher.

Look, I can't speak for Russia, but I can tell you that Dr. Stambouk is top-tier. My sister actually had both of her eyes done by him about a year and a half ago, and she nailed it. She hasn't touched glasses or contacts since.

At the end of the day, everyone's situation is different.

Anyway, good luck with everything.
