I am glad you are feeling better 🙂

I'm taking 37.5mg. As I mentioned earlier, I have been dealing with some side effects.

I started feeling a lot better by the second or third day. I’ve only been on it for six days now, so things can only go uphill from here.

quietwalker5 said:Me too. In the evenings, I take Effexor along with Xanax 0.25mg and it helps. What else were you prescribed alongside the Effexor?

Same here—Xanax. Honestly, though, I’m just not comfortable taking that kind of stuff on my own without guidance. It's strange; I feel slightly exhausted, yet sleep just won't come. It's like I hit this weird, semi-euphoric state every night.🤷

Phew, there are just so many threads to catch up on and so little time to do it. Anyway, I wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone who showed up yesterday. It was great seeing you all, and I'm already looking forward to our next get-together.

I took my very first pill this morning, and let me tell you—about an hour later, breakfast was making a run for it. 🤮 I had a feeling that might be the case. Honestly, I don't mind adjusting if it actually works. I'll just split the dose in half and take it in two separate sittings.

**Done**—I tried that approach and the nausea has completely vanished. I've been taking those two halves about an hour apart. However, I have noticed that falling asleep at night has become quite a struggle. I’m really hoping this is just a temporary thing. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of "insomnia" while on it?

Alright, there are four of us so far. If anyone else decides to swing by, we’ll be hanging out at "Tomislav," that brewery with the white tents just before you hit the main entrance.

Maybe next time. 😉

You might be missing from the room, but you'll be there in spirit. 😁

Honestly, I’m exhausted. Total drag.

It's all for the sake of others. 🙂

I’m going to snag a seat right next to Kyle Grant62 and Kevin Nguyen3. 🤣
That duo is pure comedy gold. 👍

So, are we expecting any new faces tomorrow?

Harold Anderson3 said:What kind of starting dose are you looking at? I started out on 75 mg XL, but I've bumped up to 150 mg now.

It really is a solid antidepressant since it targets two different neurotransmitters, specifically serotonin and norepinephrine.

That said, even with a dosage this high, I still find myself hitting those occasional low points. Whenever I mess something up at work or feel like I've made a mistake, I don't really deal with guilt so much as I just spiral into a deep depression.

I suppose that might be more of a situation for psychotherapy rather than just relying on medication—at least, that's how it feels to me...

goldenbison31 said:So, did you end up putting on any weight? 🙂
I feel like my own appetite has gotten just a tiny bit stronger, too—especially in the mornings, where I feel like I could probably polish off half a roasted brisket, but I suppose that's mostly because my metabolism seems to be running super fast while I'm taking Velafax. 🙂
Of course, I’m not overdoing it or anything, I try to be careful, but I certainly haven't been cutting out things like ice cream, for instance.
I really do think that Velafax helps speed up how the body burns energy by boosting norepinephrine.
If you don't mind me asking, why did you decide to stop taking it in the first place? 🙂

I might have put on a pound or two, but nothing major. Besides, I'm already planning ahead; if my appetite spikes again, I'll just hit the gym or get active. To be honest, I stopped the meds because I thought I knew better than my doctor. 🤣

goldenbison31 said:Just a little quick update regarding my Velafax dosage, which is currently 37.2 mg twice a day:
I am definitely losing weight, which I suppose is fine, but — my chest is disappearing!! 😲

To reiterate, because I’ve been slimming down, my bust size has shrunk quite a bit.
Personally, I am actually really happy about dropping those extra two or three pounds, and I can truly feel my metabolism kicking into high gear (it feels almost like back when I used to work out every single day, which is how much the Velafax seems to be affecting my body), but I do find myself missing my feminine curves.
I mentioned before that I was dealing with some hair loss, but that has calmed down now since I started taking some supplements for it.
As far as other side effects go, there aren't any. I haven't felt any anxiety or depression, even though I did find myself tearing up today while listening to a song by Nina Badrić. But honestly, that’s alright; it was just a moment of sadness. Not actual depression. ☕

Hmm, that's interesting. When I was on it about four years ago, I actually found my appetite increased. I'm planning to start back up on it tomorrow.

As long as you don't mind that restlesstiger49 is bald, stands six feet tall, and is covered in tattoos. 😉

restlesstiger49 is nowhere near being bald. 🤣Well, more than that...😂 He went totally overboard.

Carl Rivera43 said:Hmm, so, looking at locations, I'm thinking somewhere right in the heart of downtown, maybe? And for the time, let's say mid-afternoon, around 5:00 PM.

That sounds fair! We did mention Central Park earlier, but I honestly think that would just end up dragging half the group to one side of town, so I wouldn't go through with something like that.
I'm really hoping we see some new faces join us. The numbers have been jumping quite a bit lately: 3—then 10—who knows what's next? 🙂

quietwalker5 said:When are you heading to the shrink? How are you holding up today?

The sooner, the better!!!🤣 I actually gave Rebel a call earlier today to beg for the earliest available appointment.
On a side note, the withdrawal symptoms are starting to taper off. My stomach finally settled down this morning, and my anxiety feels a bit more manageable...
If I end up starting a new antidepressant, I really hope I can come back here and write a positive review.

electrichound3 said:I had the exact same experience. I also started on 50 mg... then my doctor bumped me up to 100. I managed to hang on for about a month and a bit, but eventually, I just couldn't take it anymore and they discontinued it. I was losing weight rapidly, and the fatigue was unbearable. No matter how much willpower I tried to summon, getting out of bed to actually get things done was impossible. Plus, it triggered depression in me, which wasn't even an issue before. At the very beginning, I also had this sensation like my lungs were burning—this chest heat and a sort of whistling in my head. It mostly happened at night before sleep, so if you start feeling that, don't panic. It was prescribed to me for anxiety. You really just have to push through this initial phase to see if it settles down. I assume they gave you some benzodiazepines to help you cope with the side effects? I was prescribed Xanax 5 mg to take before bed because I couldn't sleep, though I didn't take any other sleeping pills. You'll see how it goes over time... hang in there.😉

In the spirit of sharing experiences, I can definitely confirm what was bolded. Right now, the depression is absolutely killing me—something I never dealt with before starting Faverin. I ended up stopping after about two months as well. Honestly, those side effects are brutal for a healthy person, let alone someone already struggling with mental health issues.

quietwalker5 said:People, what happened to restlesstiger49?!? He’s gone silent.
restlesstiger49, please check in and let us know you're alright.

Holy shit!! Somebody actually gives a damn about me. 🙂
Anyway, I'm done with Fevarin... honestly, I think this stuff has just spiked my anxiety and made my life a total nightmare over the last month. For a while now, I've been waking up with these god-awful stomach pains and nausea. Since it seems like every doctor in the country is out on vacation right now, I've started tapering myself off on my own—though I'm being incredibly inconsistent about it. I probably should have stuck to 25mg for another two weeks, but I haven't touched it in two days, so screw it. I have no clue what I should switch to next. Long story short, this is the list:
http://s27.postimg.org/r9pt7mvir/lekovi.jpg

Edit: Just to be clear, (and I really need to say this) it is incredibly irresponsible for my therapist to prescribe a medication and then disappear for two months. Seriously, people have taken their own lives because of side effects from antidepressants. I've even had some dark thoughts creeping in lately, but I just try to focus and tell myself it’s likely just the medication talking.

But look... Alex and I are planning on showing up together. I’ll be the one with red hair... as for her, I'm not entirely sure what her current vibe is. 😂😂😂😂
How are we supposed to identify anyone? 😁 Should I show up wearing a literal badge or something? 😂

If we all dress the same way, won't it just make it obvious to everyone else that something is off?

The system refreshed...
Anyway, if we all aim to gather in about half an hour, shall we just wait by the diagnostic machine until everyone arrives?

Steven Lopez77 said:To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't call myself a brave soul, whether I'm posting on a message board or navigating my actual daily life.

My main concern is whether we’ll be expected to do those classic round-robin introductions where everyone stands up and says, "Hi, my name is this and I do that," because, if I'm being truthful, that is exactly what I dread most. I’ve never been much of a talker, and lately, my ability to string a coherent sentence together has been a bit of a disaster. 😢

I don't think anyone is going to force that. It’s entirely up to each of us whether we want to use our forum handles tomorrow or not—it really doesn't matter. There's zero pressure regarding that, or regarding how much you choose to share. Especially when it comes to personal stuff.
The Maystor and I will probably be the first ones there, since we live quite close to Central Park.

Carl Rivera43 said:So, here's the plan. Once we get settled in, I was thinking we could kick things off with something lighthearted—maybe some thoughts on the Ice Bucket Challenge or checking out that song by Happy? From there, we can just drift into all sorts of casual topics. It’ll feel like we’ve been hanging out for years, right? And honestly, it's pretty true, since everything you post here leaves a permanent mark.

Now I sound just like those old commercials for Fire Valley saying "We came to leave a Tragedy!"

Last time, I didn't spend any energy worrying about what the three of us would discuss. Even if I had, I think I would have been surprised; for a group of three people meeting for the very first time, I think an outsider listening to our conversation would assume we've been friends for a long time. 🙂
