MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
If scoring three points by chucking chunks of raw concrete toward the Northeast is what passes for passion—mostly just casual fans, I suppose—then you might as well just hand out three points in an Armadillo trailer instead...
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I just upgraded to an expanded coverage package through America Insurance, and they're offering me a comprehensive full-body checkup.
I've been dealing with some persistent issues regarding high stomach acid and hemorrhoids lately, so I’m hoping this systematic screening can finally help me get ahead of them.

Since they've given me a pretty wide selection of clinics to choose from, I was wondering—which one would you say is the best bet?

Hey everyone,

I moved to the Knežija area from out of town about three months ago, and now I’m on the hunt for a good primary care doctor. Ideally, I'd love to find someone stellar right here in Albaharije, but honestly, I’m open to anyone in the Trešnjevka area or even further out. Any recommendations?
Laptop screen replacement help needed in Laptops ·
Hey,

So, 2 years ago my laptop took a nasty tumble onto the floor, and now the display is completely shot. I’ve already double-checked the hardware and the graphics card—they’re both working perfectly fine. I took it down to a local repair shop, but they basically told me I'm out of luck because the machine is 9 years old and they can't source a replacement screen anymore. I did recently upgrade it with an SSD, and honestly, everything else about it still works great. I’d be willing to drop up to $167 just to get a functioning screen back in place. Does anyone know how I can track down a compatible panel for this specific model?

Care to elaborate? 🤔

Fear of commitment: Is it irrational or just me? in Psychology ·
I feel called 😁

I’ve been thinking about how taking on heavy responsibilities at a young age—say, in your early twenties—has started to get a bad reputation lately. Personally, I disagree, and if I look around at what's actually happening in the real world, I think my perspective holds water.
It’s true that this trend is picking up steam, but I wouldn't go so far as to say society is actually giving it a thumbs up right now.

Independence = having your own place
For most people in my neck of the woods, renting is seen as the most viable path—even if it means being just one missed rent check away from sleeping on the sidewalk.
And hey, that’s fine, provided you know there’s a safety net waiting for you back at your parents' house.
But working solely just to keep a roof over your head? Hmm... 🤔 that doesn't exactly sound like an appealing way to live.

We also have to acknowledge that as our standard of living has risen, so has our sense of instability and insecurity.
That’s really where the catch lies: security and stability. We moved forward too fast. That rapid progress trampled over a lot of people along the way; we see it every single day—this hyper-accelerated pace of life that ruthlessly crushes the most vulnerable among us, and it has left its mark.
Self-destruction in Psychology & Therapy ·
Humans are inherently self-destructive creatures. It isn’t just you; this tendency is actually baked into the very progress of our civilization.
What we can actually control is how we manage that destructive streak. It would be nothing more than an illusion—a total utopia—to expect it to just vanish.

Someone already pointed out to you earlier that masochism isn't strictly limited to physical pain.

Have you dealt with specific struggles in the past that pushed you toward a depressive state? I suspect that perhaps some of your current, day-to-day issues are what's driving this intense longing for your mother's presence and protection?
Or maybe not. Maybe that craving stems from the core of the issue itself, independent of any daily stressors. But from what I've gathered so far, you haven't felt this need for closeness before, largely because you're fully aware of how much your mother's influence actually tears you down.
Does being an introvert make you prone to ghosting people? in Psychology & Therapy ·
I honestly think this kind of issue is becoming a spiritual cancer for society—if it hasn't already. Personally, I’ve been struggling with it over the last year; I just find myself getting incredibly irritated by people. They bore me with conversations and topics that have about as much interest to me as ExxonMobil trying to start a lavender farm in rural Kansas.
The worst part? I’ve actually started shrinking my social circle. Once I realized I had more time for myself, I cut out everyone who wasn't truly worth the investment. Now, it feels like I'm losing my connection points along with them.

It’s glaringly obvious that people are losing their capacity for tolerance and patience. Either that, or fate just isn't seeing fit to pair the right people together anymore.🤔
