A little late to the party, but I still wanted to say huge congratulations to wearymoose28 on the win!!!
Look, it’s true we went into this season feeling a bit more relaxed, but since we're such creatures of habit, we know how long and grueling the season actually gets. Usually, right around the time everyone else burns out at Spa, that’s when we really step up our game with those upgrades.
How should we categorize Sir Patrick Head? Is he considered a constructor, a designer, or simply a co-owner of the team? Did he actually develop the original concepts himself, or was he just replicating someone else's ideas?
There was so much endless chatter and speculation a couple of months back about Robert Kubica making his comeback to F1. Fast forward to today: the guy hops into an FW41, puts in over 30 laps looking like he’s barely even trying, and yet there isn't a single comment to be found here.
Raymond Anderson4 said:McLaren feels pretty basic, honestly—kind of uninspiring. Prodromou mentioned that while the initial design looks a lot like last year's, they're aiming to roll out as many changes as possible for the season opener.
While every other team is busy testing and running their actual current-year cars, McLaren will likely just stick with last year's setup. They think three practice sessions will be plenty to get everything dialed in. Of course, no team is going to show their full hand during these tests, but any updates we see will mostly be cosmetic adjustments for the opening race once they've had a chance to work through the kinks.
My memory might be failing me a bit, but was there ever a car with a sidepod design similar to this year's Sauber, featuring those two distinct levels and separate air intakes? Secondly, I noticed the front suspension arms on the RB look slightly curved rather than perfectly straight. I didn't get a clear enough view to see if there's a joint at that point or if it's just one continuous piece. And thirdly, when you look at them from above, the FW41 seems to be the only one with a completely flat rear section—the engine and gearbox cover. Every other car seems to have some version of that "coke bottle" shape, whether it's subtle or really pronounced.
They were more than deserved. Things got incredibly intense right up until the final race, and you proved you can handle the pressure when the stakes are high. 🙂
I'm handing over the interim winner's trophy to you, though I'm hoping it makes its way back to Bambi very soon.
It’s genuinely intense; we won't know who comes out on top until the very last lap of the final race neither for individuals nor for teams.
Man, it feels like we're just lucky that there isn't some dominant powerhouse out there to shut us down, which keeps us right in the mix as favorites in both categories.
