You’ll get used to it eventually.

It could be... but I have this nagging feeling that it’s been going on way too long for my body to still be struggling to adjust (I’ve been eating like this for a month now). My meals might be a little lighter since I’ve dropped about four pounds, but they aren't exactly tiny—they should definitely be enough to keep me satisfied.
Is it possible my metabolism just hits a lull right before I eat, then kicks into high gear once I actually start eating, which makes me feel even hungrier?! And then, when the metabolism slows down again, the hunger vanishes, and suddenly it's time for the next meal all over again... just a constant loop. 😲
Could that possibly be the reason behind 😕
I was wondering if there might be a nutritionist in the group who could walk me through why this keeps happening and, more importantly, how I can stop it.
Right now, my go-to move is just chugging two glasses of Gatorade whenever that intense, late-afternoon hunger hits—but honestly? It’s not working. I end up feeling incredibly bloated, almost like a balloon, and my stomach just feels... off. Not great at all.
I’ve been really trying to get my act together regarding my diet and actually overhaul my eating habits. My new plan involves hitting five small meals throughout the day—a bit of a jump from my old routine of just two or three big ones—but I’ve run into this one frustrating snag. Since I’m forcing myself to eat every three hours (even though I don't actually feel starving most of the time, probably because my body is still stuck in its old ways), I’ve noticed something weird: the moment I actually start eating, I just can't stop. It’s like the hunger doesn't even register until the first bite hits my tongue, and then suddenly, that "small meal" feels like nothing. By the time I finally put the fork down, I’m feeling even more famished than when I started. 😕 And honestly, it doesn't even matter what's on the plate; it happens whether I'm eating something light or something substantial.
What is actually going on here?! I mean, it's almost surreal... how can I finish a meal and somehow end up hungrier than before I even sat down? 😲

You really ought to give some serious thought to setting up a voluntary retirement fund. If you tuck away about $1.75 a year—which breaks down to roughly $143 monthly—the government actually sweetens the deal with a 25% incentive match ($417). That means every single year, you’re looking at $2083 landing in your account, plus whatever interest the fund generates. It’s like planting a seed that grows twice as fast because of that extra help. By the time ten years have rolled by, a woman could be sitting on a balance of 62 $167 plus the fund's returns. And remember, those returns are calculated on both your own contributions AND that government boost. Usually, the market performance is solid enough to at least outpace inflation, if not beat it entirely.

So, this past Saturday, I managed to get out for a quick 15-minute ride in the morning and another 15 minutes in the evening, and honestly? It wasn't nearly as grueling as I feared I'd find it. 🙂 Then on Sunday, I just did a short 15-minute session in the evening. I’m actually thinking about pushing myself to hit the 20-minute mark today. I checked my tracker, and during those 15 minutes, I covered about 5.3 miles (averaging roughly 22 miles mph), which, if I'm being honest, feels pretty decent! For now, I’m not going to touch the resistance settings—I want to wait until I can handle at least 30 minutes of continuous riding without feeling completely wiped. I haven't been stepping on the scale or obsessing over the numbers—that’ll be obvious enough once I try to squeeze back into my favorite pair of jeans 😉—but yeah, progress is progress. As for outdoor cycling in this weather? Absolutely not. No way. I am perpetually freezing—just like most women, I suppose—and the mere thought of sitting on a bike in this bitter winter chill is enough to make me shudder 😢; I feel like my nose might actually fall off and my eyes would just freeze shut 😉

I honestly can’t believe it, but I can barely last 15 minutes on that machine; I’ll pedal forward for 10 minutes and then try five minutes back and I'm just completely spent 😢
I'm keeping my pace right around what I usually do on my bike—maybe a little more intense. It is actually shocking how much my fitness has slipped lately. Normally, I could ride from my suburban neighborhood out to the lakefront recreational area, loop around the water, and head all the way back without breaking a sweat 😕 So, what gives? What am I missing here?
The kids "helped" me set up my scale, so now I don't even bother weighing myself (though I definitely notice the difference when I put something on or take something off 🙂). Honestly, the actual number on the scale doesn't bother me too much—I'm about 5'6" and 132 lbs, and I'll probably be closer to 85 lbs soon if I keep this up—what really matters to me is muscle tone. If I can just manage to tighten things up and feel a bit more firm, I'll be happy and satisfied 😁

wearyfalcon10 said:I’m telling you, that actual Orbitrack? It's practically sitting right there in the subway. $167 It’s on sale right now, sure, but if you really want my two cents? I’d tell you to go find some intimacy instead. Honestly, it feels like you’re just burning through your precious hours for nothing—there’s zero payoff, no real satisfaction at the end of the day. It’s all wasted effort.

You know how it goes... things just keep moving forward, right? It’s like that feeling when you’re driving down a long stretch of highway outside of Chicago—you keep looking at the horizon, thinking you’ve seen everything, but then the road just keeps unfolding, mile after mile, always leading somewhere else. You think you have the full picture, but there’s always another layer, another bend in the road. It’s all part of the process, I suppose. Just one thing after another. 😉

P.S. Since finding a decent guy seems to be a lost cause lately... you might want to give this gadget a shot instead. Honestly? Pure bliss is practically guaranteed. 😁😁

Just like always... absolutely zero help from you. 😉
I already mentioned that I’ve gone ahead and bought the equipment, so there really isn't any point in me picking up another one. It’s like when you finally commit to a specific brand of coffee maker—once the kitchen counter is full and the decision is made, you aren't exactly looking to start a whole new collection, right? My mind is set on the one I have. 🙄 So, look... at the end of the day, you're basically telling me that the info you've got is totally useless. It’s like being handed a map of a city I've never even visited—it might look pretty, sure, but if it doesn't show me where the actual streets are, what am I supposed to do with it? It just doesn't help me get where I need to go.
And I see here that you don't actually have any hands-on experience using that specific machine, so really, what could you possibly recommend to me? It’s like asking a guy who’s only ever watched cooking shows to give you a recipe for a perfect soufflé—you might know the theory, sure, but without having felt the heat of the kitchen, the advice just doesn't carry much weight.
So... what am I supposed to do with you now? Honestly, I’m sitting here staring at the screen, just wondering where we go from here. It’s like when you finally finish a massive project—you know, that feeling after you've spent weeks grinding away at some huge presentation for a firm like Goldman Sachs—and suddenly there's this deafening silence. You're just left standing there in the middle of the office, looking around, thinking, "Okay, mission accomplished... now what?" It’s that weird, restless sort of limbo. It’s almost like being stuck at a suburban neighborhood park after the sun goes down and everyone else has already headed home for dinner. There's all this energy left over, but nowhere to direct it. So, yeah. I guess the question remains. What's the move? 😉

I totally get it 🙂
I’ve decided to set aside some time for working out while I catch up on my nightly news—which, let’s be honest, I usually just watch while lounging on the sofa 😢 anyway—so I'm aiming for about 30 minutes every single day.
I’m curious, though... what kind of results should I actually look for? Like, what kind of physical changes have you all noticed after sticking to a routine for maybe three months? I mean, are we talking noticeable muscle tone, better stamina, improved circulation, losing some fat, or maybe even seeing more definition in the glutes or midsection?

Every single winter, I run into this exact same wall: the complete lack of movement. From spring all the way through autumn, I’m out riding my bike or skating whenever I get a chance—it keeps me fit, keeps me sharp. But once those first chilly days hit? I just shut myself indoors and stay there until spring rolls around. Naturally, I end up packing on a few extra pounds over the winter, and everything just feels... heavy. Stiff. 😢 Running is totally off the table for me because of some old spinal issues, and honestly, I can't commit to organized gym classes; I need to exercise on my own terms, whenever the mood strikes or I actually have a free moment. So, I went ahead and picked up something similar to an Orbitrack (same concept, just a different brand) because I remember reading on a forum somewhere that people get a real workout in on them and are actually happy with the results—though now I can't find that specific thread anywhere 😕. Please, I need some advice! How can I make the most of this thing so I can actually see some progress and feel good about it?
