Dennis Martin6 said:Honestly, this book is easily one of Dickov's worst attempts. I mean, even just watching bits of 'Waking Life' totally rubbed me the wrong way (at least from what I caught a glimpse of😎), so I’m definitely not holding my breath for this one to be any good

wow, you've officially become my favorite reviewer. 🙄
Black people?!
Are you seriously telling me you can't see the massive difference between a doctor performing surgery on a patient and some idiot crashing a car into a bus and a streetcar? Like, come on...
Hannah Scott69 said:I honestly don't get why everyone is constantly obsessing over the fact that I'm a med student (not that it matters since I'm graduating in like a month anyway 😬).

But seriously, I think you guys aren't being critical enough in your reasoning.

It actually scares the hell out of me thinking some girl like you might hook up with a doctor who’s carrying something infectious (and didn't bother to mention it), and then he drops the news right in the middle of surgery... You'd probably lose your mind and go totally berserk on him with a scalpel; just leaving the whole OR covered in blood. Look, you're a woman, but people like you are—to put it bluntly—just a little too naive.

Do you even grasp that as long as there is even a tiny chance someone gets infected—even if it's one in a million—that information *has* to be shared. Everything else is secondary...
Larry Lewis2 said:If I'm remembering right, an extra kilo of weight means you've burned through about 7,700 calories (actually, now that I think about it, I have zero clue where that number even came from in my head🤔)

Nah, man, one pound of fat is closer to 3,500 calories... so if we're talking a full kilogram, you're looking at roughly 7,700 to 9,000 depending on who you ask. 🙂

If I recall correctly, only specific parts of the world's oceans are actually dealing with serious heavy metal contamination in the fish populations. And honestly, most of those hotspots seem to be clustered right around the USA... though maybe my memory is just playing tricks on me.

And yeah, calling it "high protein" is a total joke when there’s barely like 3-4% protein in it...

"Three liters is way too much; milk is already a high-protein food, and if you absorb that much protein at once, your body just drains calcium from your bones."

Oh, really? So what happens if someone eats a little bit of rice, or heaven forbid—some steak? Do they just get instant osteoporosis?

So, slycrane94, you're telling me the only actual value in all those fats is just pure energy?

@placidowl6/">@@placidowl6:

Eating 5 eggs a day means you're hitting about 1g of cholesterol. The daily recommended limit is usually around 300mg. You've basically tripled it just by snacking on eggs alone...

Look, I’m just passing along what I’ve read, I’m not claiming the math nerds who calculated this are infallible or anything. But hey, the USDA actually carries some weight when it comes to this kind of data in my book.

Is there even a reason why you feel like you gotta smash five eggs every single day?

Alright, driftinggull13, just do me a favor and tell me—what’s the actual damn nutritional value of even a single gram of saturated fat from milk?
(Other than just providing extra calories for Africans.)

Terry Hernandez6, thanks. 😁

Regarding all that talk about saturated fats, here’s a little snippet from mayoclinic.com:

In addition, the USDA and HHS recommend these upper limits for saturated fat and dietary cholesterol for healthy adults:

Saturated Fat - Less than 10 percent of your total daily calories

Honestly, I think Steven Green2 hit the nail right on the head...

So this Mercola guy you're talking about says:

'It is equally important to consider that reduced-fat, low-fat, or fat-free versions of milk are virtually void of metabolically beneficial vitamin D and calcium.'

Wait, so am I just totally clueless when it comes to how they even make low-fat milk?! Seriously, can someone please break this down for me... I'm lost here.

Ehm, this whole thread actually helped me wrap my head around where I stood yesterday versus where I am today. ;)
