If we're talking about the same thing—ever since I started antidepressants, I’ve been fidgeting too. Never used to be like this before... Like, just bouncing my leg under the desk while I work. Doesn't bother me, actually helps me focus. But it drives the coworker sitting next to me crazy. The sound of my shoe hitting the floor... 😁 Whatever, what am I supposed to do about it? I'd take the constant fidgeting over anything else if it means having a decent life... And if it keeps that hell from coming back... Give my fellow fidgeter a nod for me...🙂
how much we actually need... usually way less than what we're used to.
yeah, I'm with you honestly, didn't even see it coming like, if I eat just a third of my old portions, I'm already full but now the food actually feels smarter 😉 not just empty calories
Bradley Davis33 and Edward Green 👍 Peter Bennett8, you aren't getting fat just from sitting around studying... I mean, I'm stuck in a chair 10 hours a day too. It’s usually because the food choices are trash, or you're just overeating. Not even about hunger, really... just trying to fill some other kind of void
Like what Bradley Davis33 is saying, small shifts over time actually lead to results
A few months back, I couldn't imagine playing a piece on the piano after work... too tired, too much going on, blah blah blah. But now? It's just part of the routine. Totally logical😁
Go to campus, walk to the grocery store, whatever... just bake some movement into your day. When I was studying, I used to get so anxious I’d just pace the floor nonstop
Edward Green said:you just don't have the willpower. guess you need someone else to provide that willpower for you... seems like you're heading down the wrong path.
exactly what I'm saying! and you probably gained it all back because you dropped it too fast. yeah right...
no kids are doing any work at my place, whether they're counting calories or playing "watch out what I'm eating." if I actually had time to work, go out, clean... honestly, just cutting out the fried stuff helps me. more steaming, less sugar. swapping cookies for a bowl of fruit instead... stopped snacking while watching TV, too. the scale's finally moving down... slowly, but it's moving. been four months now...🙂
Look, either you actually want this or you don't. Anything else is just smoke and mirrors.
Honestly, the last thing anyone needs is to spend their free time obsessing over this stuff. People need to chill out...
My life is non-stop. I’m just happy when I clock out and get home, or if I manage to swap one meal a day for some actual fresh fruit and veggies instead of junk.
You gotta believe in yourself, not some random person on an internet forum.
I was sitting at 155 lbs this summer 🙄 (back when I was 120 two years ago) and managed to drop about 15 pounds in four months. Didn't even hit the gym because I have zero time and even less motivation... But I did clean up my diet. I'd spend the day sipping on that magic soup. Goal is to lose another 15 by next summer, fingers crossed... I used to live on pizza, bags of chips, and chocolate for snacks. Today? Had some veggie pasta, two apples, and a pear.
It's not rocket science. You just gotta put in the work. (For days—actually, for three whole weeks—the scale wouldn't budge. But I wasn't about to go on a rampage and eat everything in sight just to be stubborn. I figured I'd wait it out, maybe it'd move again...)
Man, if you actually had his cash in your pocket, you'd be talking this much shit too. Just think about it for a second...
Nobody's forcing you to inhale three burgers at McDonald's, but seriously, how is anyone supposed to feel full off one of those pathetic little things I call "sliders"?
Tiger Woods said:you can eat all that at work too, if you even have the setup for it... if so, I'm jealous.
what setup? like having a place to stash a bowl in the fridge? everything's prepped at home before I leave if you really wanna be jealous, envy the hustle instead🙂
you aren't gonna drop dead if you hit up a restaurant once every few weeks as long as the food actually tastes good, which is something I just don't get
I get why my coworkers prefer pizza 😁 but it doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing thing between pizza or a McDonald's meal there's plenty of salads, pasta, whatever... plus you can always just bring stuff from home chop up some ham, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, corn... just toss some dressing on it at the office
Terry Hernandez6 said:McDonald's is just junk loaded with saturated fats, trans fats, sugar, and salt, with basically zero vitamins or fiber. You can check the nutrition facts on their page. The fries are cooked in a mix of beef tallow and hard vegetable oils packed with trans fats—even worse than animal fat. Same goes for the chicken. And if it actually tasted good 🙄 , the whole place smells like plastic👎 Look, I get that everything is unhealthy nowadays and there's no point stressing over it, but McDonald's is bottom-of-the-barrel trash. Just look at those Americans who eat this stuff every single day.
exactly some vegetarian ordering fries there probably has no clue they're being served beef tallow (read it on some American website, supposedly makes it taste better) plus that plastic smell 🙄 that hangs all around the McDonald's not living in an illusion thinking I eat perfectly healthy, there's still plenty of bad stuff out there, but I'll always take home-cooked food over some plastic hamburger
did that too this summer... Money is no object... been there a few times... Think I got my tan and everything... though who's actually prepping for a beach trip I ended up skipping? But that's a whole other story... just some goat... nothing special... 🙄 Every cream I actually liked... suddenly feels like nothing. Just useless. Now my skin feels all weird and tingly under my fingers... like something's off...
Kenneth Martinez7 said:Are Chicken McNuggets actually healthy? Since McDonald's claims they're pure chicken, what else is even in a burger?
Those nuggets aren't even real chicken...🙂 Honestly, nothing kills my vibe more than seeing some exhausted moms dragging one-year-olds through a McDonald's to feed them that junk...
You're better off eating a greasy plate of BBQ ribs than some "healthy" low-calorie meal from there...🙄
velvetpilot212 said:Exactly what I'm thinking. I know exactly why and how I get sick every single time I'm surrounded by too many people, or when I'm exhausted... wondering if anyone else feels this way—or better yet, actually realizes the principle behind it. Looking at all these women around me, mothers and wives spending eight hours a day stuck in some office, then just drifting through a half-life at home with husbands they haven't had a real conversation with in years. They're all sick. Always at the doctor, always bragging (they actually brag!) about their ailments. You know the drill... once they start talking, it's all "I had gallstones," "I had surgery," "they had to clear my sinuses, I couldn't do a damn thing for two weeks..." God help us. But that's basically all they care about. Don't know why, but that's just how it is.
Same story here know exactly what you mean 😢 had this whole mess with my boss and things just boiled over after my 500th unpaid hour of overtime, blah blah blah... get home, check my temp, and yeah... by morning my throat was so swollen I couldn't even swallow. It was a total disaster it was a Friday, felt like I'd been hit by a truck, then the weekend rolls around and I'm fine again 😕 .....
Is this stuff 100% legit for depression and alcohol? I was scrolling some American forum (maybe that's why the replies look like 😕) where people say they have a beer or something similar once in a while while on antidepressants—though they define "once in a while" as maybe once every two weeks...
boldpuma89 said:Yeah, quitting isn't just about dropping the count.
Got two questions for everyone:
1. "If you could guarantee staying at just 0 to 3 cigarettes a day—with zero chance of creeping back up— WOULD YOU DECIDE TO QUIT FOR GOOD?"
2. "IS SMOKING JUST 1 OR 2 CIGARETTES A DAY STILL A HARMFUL, BAD HABIT THAT NEEDS TO GO?"
Just to be clear, I'm 100% pro-quitting. It’s just that telling myself "never again" feels impossible, so I try to find comfort in those 1 or 2 a day... Keep in mind, this is my FIRST attempt at quitting—and I want it to be the last one. Success is the goal.
1. yeah 2. yeah Let's be real, I quit the day I found out I was pregnant. Those little compromises you're trying to force on yourself? They never even crossed my mind...
....and what about men ???...nobody cares, it's always been like this and it'll stay that way
I’m not out here hitting people with a baseball bat just to get some attention here, but a man is a man except for those two, they haven't shown up and I'm not gonna waste my breath on their drama, I've got enough of my own going on
rustymoose54 said:chill out, if you knew at 22 you'd have fertility issues, you would've done this or that or whatever... just saying
it's that whole "if only I knew then" thing... (except then it wouldn't even be my life anymore)
maybe some women are miserable because they spent their 20s "checking all the boxes" and now seeing pregnant women gets to them... but if it wasn't that, it'd probably just be seeing successful women instead
whatever
spot on
better if I don't hang around here, these topics suck stormylynx14, would it actually be good for your kid (or you and your wife) to have rushed into it at 20 just because someone told you the odds were great? imagine having a baby in a tiny studio apartment, struggling to eat, maybe one of you is unemployed... probably would've ended up having the kid 10 years later anyway, hoping things worked out
look, I’m at that point where trying to actually map out this ink in my head is just gonna make the whole thing look even more terrifying probably gonna sit on it for a month or two...
yeah, suppose that works but who are you even supposed to pray to then? or were you more thinking about just talking to yourself? you clear out your inbox yet?
