Lentil recipes: Megathread in Health ·
I picked up some soft contact lenses about ten days ago. Putting them in and taking them out is fine—no irritation, no discomfort at all. But there’s a catch. My near vision is a mess; everything just looks blurry. And the periphery? It’s even worse. I’m seeing these weird halos or circles in the corners of my vision. It's honestly pretty terrifying. Is this actually caused by the lenses themselves? When I originally went to get fitted, my sister let me try on a pair of hers first, but I had an allergic reaction to the material. She ordered me a different brand to compensate, but these aren't working either...
Lombard loans for dummies in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Kimberly Nguyen said:And get this: even the credit bureaus don't even receive data regarding those lines of credit.

A quick side note on credit bureaus...
I recently heard about someone whose Equifax report showed a $60,000 Lombard loan when it was actually just a standard mortgage.:🙄
When banks report to the big agencies, they mix everything up and send over garbage data all the time.
Or if you’re just a co-signer for someone else, it might mistakenly list you as the primary guarantor... so yeah, don't trust these credit bureaus blindly. They aren't exactly bulletproof.

CRM—honestly, what a game changer. 👍

Mark Sullivan62, the Zaba fan is actually a solid choice. Honestly, $6.75 I don't see it being much of an issue for me...

I have to admit, I’m pretty happy with the switch. I was on their expert plan recently, but I just moved over to the dynamic Zaba fan package. Honestly, it’s been great.
It looks like that family tier is actually the best deal, though. I’ll probably just repackage everything into that one down the road.🙂

Exactly. Just like that.
Mandatory pension funds: What are your thoughts? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Nancy Wilson43 said:Look, it’s basic common sense—you should have the freedom to pick whichever asset management firm you want. A bank shouldn't be tying your loan approval to which specific fund you use... but let's get real here. The truth is, those bank employees are chasing commissions. If you pick their preferred fund, they get a kickback, just like if you signed up for a Chase credit card, a mortgage, online banking, or any other product they're pushing. It’s not inherently evil, I suppose, but it would be a lot better if they actually gave people the full, unvarned truth instead of burying the details just to secure that payout.

Bankers work for a paycheck, not some commission stunt. Where do you even get this nonsense?😕???

Mark Sullivan62 said:Well, I didn't take out a loan, so whatever.

If I had, and if they came looking for me, believe me, we’d be front-page news by tomorrow morning.

And those folks over at Chase have probably already read my entire inbox cover to cover by now.

Chase actually ended up paying my parking ticket for $27 because their completely incompetent clerk kept me stuck there for an hour and a half just to handle a five-minute task.

Mind you, I am part of the Amazon fund, so they probably won't come sniffing around my business like that...

I’m guessing JPMorgan Chase didn't pay that fine—it was "their incompetent clerk" who did.🙂

Lisa Grant said:I actually stopped by the bank today to ask, and apparently, you need to show steady income hitting your account for at least $667 months before they'll approve you—just figured I'd share that info in case it helps anyone else. Unfortunately, it doesn't help me much right now 😢

I also checked in with JPMorgan Chase, and just like neno1966 mentioned, you really have to let some time pass first. So, my plan is to open that account in the next few days and then just wait it out. When the time comes, it comes. At least I'll have everything set up for the future, hopefully. 😢

To get a Go! card, you don't actually need an income stream with Chase, nor do you have to be their client. You just need to have been employed for more than three months (...). Your earnings can even be below $667, and you don't even need a checking account set up to cover the fees. For the first year, the card is free—no enrollment fee, no monthly membership charge... I had mine in hand about 7 or 8 days after applying.👍
Buying foreign stocks in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·

Nobody’s disputing that there are restrictions on international business😕
That's why the Foreign Exchange Act exists in the first place.

It would be helpful if you people were a little more specific with your claims.🤷

Basically, here’s the deal. Whether you’re using a Chase installment card at participating retailers offering interest-free financing, or just swiping for a purchase and relying on a revolving credit line, your entire purchase amount is tied up against your total credit limit. However, when you buy something via an Visa/Mastercard consumer loan spread over 36 months, only the individual monthly payment is deducted from your available credit. The limit only shrinks by the amount of that single installment, not the full price of the item.
Insurance Agent Licensing Exam at H&M in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Took my exam last October. Blazed through the written part—actually ended up helping the colleague sitting next to me finish hers too. John Doe caught me doing it, though, and gave me a warning. Unbelievable. Somehow, I still landed on his schedule for the oral exam. He spent 40 minutes just trying to trip me up. Thank God I actually studied, because I barely scraped by. Honestly, if you don't end up with him for the oral, consider yourself lucky.🙂
I will say, he’s actually a decent guy.🙂

Kimberly Nguyen said:I heard they’re absolute monsters 😠
From what I gather, there are 40 questions on the oral exam, and you need at least 24 correct answers 🤔 just to even qualify for the oral portion... They have several different sets of questions, but word is they swap them out constantly so that....
Look, if you get women on the examining panel, you’re in luck (assuming you actually pass the written part), because they don't sweat the tiny details quite as much....
But if you end up with—I think his name is John Doe—then god help you... That man literally wrote the book on insurance law, and you practically have to memorize his entire life's work just to survive him...
What I’ve been told is that the study guides from the Federal Reserve are solid, and plenty of people have passed using them
As for all that talk about people getting demoted in banking roles... honestly, I don't think that's really the case.... It’s more that people struggle because of the sheer volume of work they're drowning in and the constant barrage of instructions they deal with every single day... not to mention the massive mountain of material you're expected to master...

Anyway, I'm crossing my fingers for you! 👍
