What’s the deal with those new Zaba fan bundles?
Word on the street is they want to scrap all the current "Plan 1" options. Then, they’ll basically force us into these Fan deals where the cheapest one starts at $20...
People are actually making more money these days... 🤣

The cheapest option is $18 😉
I use the dynamic account—and honestly, I couldn't be happier with it. Sure, it’s $20, but I get 15 free mobile or online transfers through the app every month—to me, that alone justifies paying those extra $20 per month 😍

I have to admit, I’m pretty happy with the switch. I was on their expert plan recently, but I just moved over to the dynamic Zaba fan package. Honestly, it’s been great.
It looks like that family tier is actually the best deal, though. I’ll probably just repackage everything into that one down the road.🙂

That’s a pretty solid reason you've got there, I guess.

Right now, I'm sitting on the Expert package, which runs me $13/month, and all my payments (straight from the bank) come out at just one dollar flat per transaction.

But look, a Zaba fan costs $20 and you get 15 free transactions thrown in for good measure.

So, when you actually crunch the numbers, you’re paying $1.75 more regardless of how you slice it.

Mark Sullivan62, the Zaba fan is actually a solid choice. Honestly, $6.75 I don't see it being much of an issue for me...

I’m honestly starting to get a little worried because nobody is even starting a thread about this...

And when exactly are they planning to scrap these packages? To be perfectly honest, it already felt weird that they weren't hiking up the fees for the legacy plans, because if you ask me, I was definitely getting shortchanged on mine (checking + power of attorney, foreign currency + power of attorney, online banking, savings accounts, one charge card plus the add-on, the basic debit, and my Visa Coca-Cola)

As for the Zaba fan thing... I don't know... apparently, Expert is changing things up $20, but they haven't included all the credit cards in the mix, so by that logic, everything should just be lumped into the Gold tier or the Family bundle... I have absolutely no use for the mobile app features and it's way too pricey for what it is... though, I suppose the travel insurance is decent enough and that home assistance service is okay

I don't need any of that, though—why on earth would I pay for (and let's face it, I'll probably be forced to) something that serves absolutely no purpose for me?

Wait, what do you mean they aren't included?

Which ones are covered and which ones aren't?

Seriously, first they tweak this, and now they're going to try and squeeze me for more fees just so I can use some pointless mobile payment feature I probably won't even use.

Personally, I think paying an annual fee $440 just for bank packages for my wife and me is a joke...
She just uses a basic checking account while I use a Mastercard to run about $5,000 to $8333 a month and handle everything via online banking...
To me, $18 paying that much every month feels like we're just letting greedy bankers shear us like sheep...
I’m honestly ready to hand back all their cards and close out those credit lines I don't even need...

Where can I find the actual breakdown of these different account packages?

All I could dig up was this

but it’s pretty vague—doesn't really say which perks are included, what the fees look like, or any of that...

It isn't about $1.75; it's about being able to settle my bills even when I'm away from my computer... and for that convenience, I'll happily pay $20 instead of $1.75 😉

I don't get it—why would you even bother with a Zaba fan package if you're just using ECMC and a basic checking account?🤷

For you and your wife, the perfect fix would be a family Zaba fan, which would cost you $20 per month, or $240 annually—not sure how you calculated $440??

it isn't even an issue of $1.75, it’s just the principle of the thing

they basically pressure me into paying for stuff I don't even want (and at a higher price, too), while the things I actually need

get snatched up by them

and btw, what kind of massive bills are you running that you can't even wait until you get back to your computer?

Personally, I actually like this. It feels like a step in the right direction for us. Right now, I’m on one plan for $6.75 and my husband is on $13, so when we switch to a family bundle, our upfront cost will be roughly the same as what we pay now, $20. But since the bundle includes a whole range of extra perks and benefits, I think we’ll actually come out ahead.👍

plus my computer just died 😠
it was like this two months ago 😠
besides, using my phone is just easier—no need to deal with step one or step two... it’s just more intuitive (what can you 🤷 , honey 😍) via mobile than through a desktop site.
I get it, I hate seeing services people actually enjoy getting shut down, but honestly, the Zaba fan is totally fine given the m-Zaba situation.

Well, fine, have it your way, you Zaba fan😁

But I'm sticking with my Expert plan

I mean, honestly, I consider myself an expert too 😛 so this specific package just feels right for me

Because they're killing off the option to just have a basic checking account with an ECMC subscription. Instead, they're forcing these massive bundles on us. They take those old, simple plans and swap them for these overpriced packages stuffed with useless perks and benefits that 95% of customers will never touch...
It’s ridiculous. Like, if a bank already owns its own telecom network, who cares about their mutual funds? It makes zero sense.
Yeah, that's the reality right now... ☕

2 Arthur Ramirez12:
It's a standard $18 times 12 months, which is 660. Add the same amount for the spouse, and you're looking at 1320.

Why even look at the standard option when the family plan is clearly better for you and your spouse—and half the price, too?!!👍

Didn't realize she was such a better deal...
Thanks for looking out... 🙂
