Michelle Patel78 said:It’s called the circadian rhythm. They say sleep before midnight is the gold standard. People tend to dodge bed when they're stressed out. They spend all day burying their dark thoughts under a mountain of busywork, but once they hit the sheets, everything catches up to them and keeps them tossing and turning. Sleep is huge for melatonin production. If you're short on that hormone, your body pays the price—you end up with worse focus and lower scores on IQ tests.
I read somewhere that it matters for growth hormones too... like they get released at night, right before dawn... something like that. 😕
Same thing with when I dabbled in transcendental meditation. I remember our instructor telling us that sleeping from 10 to 12 (PM, obviously 🙂) is basically worth five hours of sleep at any other time. Apparently, that’s when the brain does its best rebuilding. People dedicated to things like meditation or yoga—and honestly, even monks in certain traditions—all swear by an early bedtime and early rising. Specifically, I recall the TM leader saying they go down at 10 and are up by 3 AM. (That counts as eight hours of sleep.)
Matthew Sullivan32 said:There’s actually a scientific way to handle that. You can get these smart clocks that slowly brighten the room before the alarm goes off. Since your eyelids are basically translucent, your body picks up on that gradual light change and tells you it's time to wake up. Usually, the brightening starts about thirty minutes before the actual sound. It works the same way in reverse, too—dimming the lights at night to trick your brain into sleep mode.
Where can I grab one of those? Sounds pretty useful. 🙂
There’s this specific makeup, some kind of special foundation. I think I read once in *Vogue* that the girl from those AT&T commercials—you know, the one playing the teenager who's always on her phone 🙂—uses it because she has some kind of scar. I totally blanked on the name though 😢
What’s actually good for detoxing? Looking to flush out my kidneys and just... clear everything out. Anyone got a solid recipe 🙂 or a specific supplement they swear by?

Hey, Brian Hayes26, if you don't mind me asking—which whey protein is that and where can I grab it?
George Bailey2 said:Don't let those manufacturers play you with the percentages on the labels. Veg Fuel definitely isn't 100%, just like most stuff like this—it’s got at least 1-5% carbs and 1-2% fat. Once you factor in the flavoring and everything else, there's no way it's hitting over 90% protein.
Well, I read that, so... http://www.tegobe.com/samolijecenje/...vege_fuel.html

George Bailey2 said:Alright, so there aren't strict rules... Personally, I’d suggest grabbing the best value option—quality, taste, and price all in one. The whey protein from Inkospor is solid; vanilla and chocolate are great, but the banana flavor is insane. It goes for $37 for 500 grams over at Helix.
👍 Thanks, man... I need to check the breakdown for protein, carbs, and fats... but it sounds pretty decent. And the price is right, too! 🙂
The stuff I'm using now has 85g of protein, 4.7g of carbs, and 1.0g of fat per 100g. Flavor is cappuccino ☕ 😁
Honestly, though, I’d prefer a cleaner protein, so I’ve been looking at this "Veg Fuel" from Twinlab—it's 100% protein. Not a huge deal, really; but since I'm still figuring out how to balance everything for Life in Zone, I just want to keep things as simple as possible. 🙂
So, here's the deal... one recipe calls for Twinlab's "Veg Fuel," another says "Universal super Whey protein," then there's "Vigor sport, protein 90." Honestly, when you're prepping meals for life in zone, I don't think the brand matters all that much—it’s all about hitting that high protein percentage. I noticed a Twinlab shop over on Ilica today, so they probably carry that "Veg Fuel" (soy, which is basically 100% protein powder); meanwhile, I stumbled upon some shop online near the Sports Hall...
My mom picked up some whey at Encijan today, so we'll use that for the first round... 🙂
I couldn't make it to therapy because the schedule just doesn't work for me at all.
You have to find the time. Seriously. Find another therapist through the American Psychological Association who actually works around your schedule. But you need to go.
