How to send money to an e-gold account? in Economy ·
I'm looking to get some cash moved over to my personal account.

Look, here's the deal—if anyone out there is rocking a PayPal or an e-gold account, I need about 55 bucks sitting in mine, and in exchange, I’ll hook you up with 65 bucks in cold, hard cash.

Can someone please walk me through the easiest way to shoot $50 over to an e-gold account?

Does any major bank actually support direct transfers to accounts like that?
If they don't, what's the best workaround?

Honestly, I don't think this is even a big deal.

So, I was at my Mayo Clinic checkup recently, and my wife pointed out in the medical report that I have a sigmoid colon, which sounded like some weird medical jargon to me, so I figured I’d hop on here and see what you guys think. Looking back at everything everyone has posted, it seems like everything should be totally fine, and since the doctor didn't even bother to bring it up or act concerned during the appointment, I'm assuming it's all good news.

Thanks, everyone!

Hey everyone!

I’m really hoping someone in this group can help me out here.

So, get this—I went in for a checkup the other day, and my doctor casually drops that I have a "sigmoid colon," and because I’m apparently a total genius, I completely blanked and forgot to ask what that even means... 🙄 🙄

Basically, does anyone here actually know what having a "sigmoid colon" implies? Like, what are we talking about here regarding causes or any actual consequences?
Skines this little tool to get things moving. Personally, I’m not exactly jumping for joy over this software—I’m pretty sure there’s something way more polished out there—but hey, it gets the job done if you need it.

Once you’ve got the program installed, you’ll see a new device pop up in your Device Manager representing that "virtual disk." Just right-click its properties and crank that virtual disk size up to whatever the maximum limit the driver will let you get away with. After that, head over to Control Panel settings -> Advanced -> performanca Settings -> Advanced -> Change and set up an additional page file, but make sure you point it specifically to that "disk" you just whipped up!

Voila!
Good luck!
Look, Bryan Sanchez86, I’m telling you, it’s not about being insulted or anything, I just can't stand when people start making massive generalizations. It's like seeing people around me constantly dropping cash on the latest tech just so they can brag about having "new gear," even though they haven't got a clue what they actually bought or how it works.

By the way, I don't think there's any real way to force Windows to max out its RAM before it even touches the page file. Unless, of course, you just kill off the page file entirely.

Even if you flip that switch to disable the page file, the system is still gonna use it. Seriously, try disabling it, reboot Windows, and then check Task Manager—you’ll see that page file Usage isn't sitting at zero; it’s always hanging out at some value. It feels like that option to turn it off is basically just for show.

I see vividstag31 is itching to hear how my little experiment turned out, so... here's the scoop:

I set up a RAM disk drive and shoved the page file right onto it. Since my virtual drive driver was being stingy and only let me make a 100 MB RAM drive, I carved out a 95 MB page file on it. And honestly? I can definitely feel the speed boost. It’s not thrashing the hard drive nearly as much as it used to. On top of that little guy in the RAM, I’ve still got a fixed 1GB page file sitting on my C drive.

I did a bit of digging online and saw other folks trying this exact thing, but I kept running into people who were rocking more than 1 GB of RAM. Most of them who gave it a shot noticed a pretty massive jump in performance, so hey, for all you guys out there sitting on a mountain of RAM, give this a shot—maybe it'll make your life with Windows a little less miserable! 🙂 Maybe. 😁
Bryan Sanchez86 said:Man, I seriously cannot believe people are actually making this a huge deal. My absolute junker of a rig is running at 333MHz with ATA33 and only 320MB of RAM, so honestly, it’s not even an issue for me. I basically kill the power once a week anyway (the rest of the time it’s just hibernation).
The real headache for me is how slow this processor is (and yeah, that ATA 33 isn't helping either).

The rest of this whole debate feels like total BS and people just nitpicking over nothing.

My favorite kind of people are those geniuses who go out and buy the most high-end beast available on the market, barely touch 30% of its resources, and then have the nerve to whine about how their machine is "slow" or how the hardware is working too hard.

No offense intended, but if someone is rocking a Pentium 4 with 512MB of RAM and they're still throwing a fit because Windows is using the page file, I’d strongly suggest they just switch over to Linux.

Hey, no offense taken at all.
Yeah, sure, since I'm running VS .NET 2003, FTP, HTTP servers, tossing around some memory-hungry Adobe programs here and there, plus all the other software that the rest of the civilized world uses (you know, Winamp, VLC Media Player, etc.), and my computer is simultaneously crunching through 800 sticks of wood while lacking HT—yeah, I'm *sure* that only eats up about 30% of my resources.

And you, buddy, if you actually think my setup is the most powerful thing on the market right now, then time has clearly passed you by.

As far as Linux goes, the only things I haven't messed around with are Knoppix and the Corel distribution. Right now, I'm sticking with SuSET 8.2.

And one more thing: nowadays, picking up a Pentium 4 with 512MB of RAM isn't some impossible feat. I figure anyone who actually makes a living and lives their life around computers can afford a decent machine without having to drop astronomical amounts of cash. Honestly, it sounds to me like you're just one of those people who either won't or can't afford a better rig, and while I feel for you, that doesn't give you the right to automatically judge everyone else the way you just did. But hey, that's just my humble opinion.

No offense meant.

Anyway, getting back to the point, has anyone actually tried what I mentioned in my first post, and if so, did you notice any actual difference?
Look, the data transfer speeds on your RAM are freaking lightyears ahead of some sluggish hard drive, so it’d be absolutely killer if Windows just used that lightning-fast memory for its swap instead of dragging its feet on a slow disk.
If you actually set a minimum and maximum limit for the pagefile size, then Windows will dynamically grab whatever space it needs within those bounds, say [256, 1536] MB. Were you maybe thinking I should just lock it down to one fixed size?
Hey everyone!

It seriously drives me up the wall when I’m grinding away on my PC for more than a little bit, because after a while, Windows starts absolutely hammering the pagefile—just constantly reading and writing like crazy, and it taaaaaakes forever. It’s not like I’m complaining about running some ancient relic, either. I’m rocking a Pentium 4, 2.2GHz, with 512MB of RAM and a 40GB hard drive. I’ve got this little utility running that keeps an eye on my free RAM right there in the taskbar, and the number is always hovering right around 300 MB. It feels totally stupid to me that Windows keeps trashing the pagefile when there's clearly enough memory to go around, so I was wondering if anyone here has messed around with tweaking the system by creating a pagefile directly in the RAM?

Basically, you install some software that creates a virtual drive, and then you stash the pagefile on that. Has anyone actually tried this kind of system tweak, or does anyone have a better tip on how to force Windows to actually use the available RAM instead of letting it sit there idle while
it keeps grinding away at the hard drive?

Well then! Guess I’ll just go out and start a massive farm in the Midwest or something! 🙂

Anyway, whatever! Honestly, I actually dig what driftingcobra98 is suggesting—hitting the weights hard while dropping a ton of cash on supplements. In my opinion, that’s probably the healthiest way to go about it, but there's one massive catch: I barely eat anything because I just don't feel hungry! I don't even know how to put it into words. You know how all those grandmas and moms always used to say, "Oh, they're such little eaters now, just wait until they hit puberty and we can't feed them fast enough," but that is absolutely not happening with me. For as long as I can remember, I just have zero appetite! 🙂 I'm telling you! My buddies mostly look at me like I've got two heads because they think I'm eating plenty and just not gaining anything. But I honestly think the root of the problem is something else entirely. I suspect it’s just my lifestyle, though that's really just a shot in the dark.

Man, you hit the nail right on the head!

How the hell did you know I was skin and bones?? It’s actually scary how accurate that was... 🙂

Alright, look, here's the deal: I'm sitting at about 132 pounds, and I'm standing just a hair over 5'11". My absolute top priority is putting on some serious weight, but obviously, I'm not looking to just pack on a massive gut—I want that muscle distributed the way any guy would actually want it. I'm 20 years old, if that helps clarify things.

To make matters worse, my life is basically one giant stress headache. I'm pulling maybe 5 to 7 hours of sleep, and honestly, some nights it's way less than that.

So yeah, if you need any more intel to really break this down for me, just let me know!

Look, I’m pretty much clueless when it comes to steroids, so I figured I’d throw this out there and see if anyone in this group actually knows their stuff.

I’m trying to wrap my head around what steroids actually are, how people even use them, what kind of damage they do to your body, and honestly, just how risky this whole thing is—plus, if anyone here has actually gone down this road, I want to hear your stories!

Thanks!
