Wedding cakes and desserts

I have zero intention of serving any kind of cake, mostly because I personally can't stand them. Am I really expected to worry if my guests will be shocked by that? Since it's summer, I was thinking of just offering ice cream and a fruit salad instead... Someone mentioned a bakery called CAKE or something similar over near Harvard Law School, if I recall correctly.
