Oh man, you guys... seriously, go ahead and ask me what my prescription is... it's a whopping minus 11.
But honestly, my eye doctor told me they can actually treat up to a -30, so I’m (still) not sweating it too much.
Actually, I'm not worried at all—I'll probably just go for laser surgery, so I've been doing a ton of digging to gather info on how that works.

BTW, for anyone out there insisting that vision can't be "fixed": my husband had a -0.75 and -1 back when he was just a teenager. He absolutely refused to wear glasses back then. Now he's 37, went for an eye exam with me the other day, and they actually found he's at a plus 0.50 now—just old age catching up! 🙂
In his own words, he says he actually sees better now than he did when he was younger. And yep, still refusing to wear glasses...
The doctor confirmed that it happens sometimes with those smaller prescriptions (up to -2), but if it's anything higher than that, there's basically no chance...

Richard Thompson33 said:So, honestly, looking at what you guys have shared and what I’ve seen myself, my best advice is to stay far away from that old VA hospital over in D.C. if you're thinking about getting anything done to your moles. Just... don't do it.😁

😲 😁
Wait, how did you figure that out? One of those two friends I was telling you about actually went there... and while she's pretty happy with the results, my scar looks absolutely terrible!

I’m honestly not sure—I saw two friends who had moles removed, both about 5 mm wide. They both ended up with scars at least 2 cm long, plus they were about 1 cm wide with 6 or 7 stitches or staples 😲
And let me tell you, those stitches actually look way worse than the incision itself when it comes to how visible they are.
I have no idea why the marks turned out so big. Both of them just did it for cosmetic reasons—it wasn't like it was melanoma or anything serious.
And since they both went to a public hospital... yeah, I would definitely avoid doing that if I were you 🙂

Jose Miller3, are you in New York City? If you are, please shoot me a DM with your doctor's info!

I’ve got this one spot I’m dying to get rid of. But honestly? I am terrified of ending up looking like I have some kind of "centipede" pattern on my back—you know, those nasty scars from a million different stitches—so I was thinking about seeing a private plastic surgeon instead.

Do you guys happen to know anyone actually good?
And what can I do to make sure the scar stays as tiny as possible?
Has anyone here gone through this before?
Thanks! 👋

I know I’m being a little out there, but please don't drag me to the public hospital—there's basically nobody alive in those places... 🙂

Well, to break the ice and get things moving—the very first guy I ever saw was a private practitioner. His name was Dr. Mladen Miljan, and honestly? He was absolutely phenomenal. If I’m being totally real with you all—and maybe this sounds a bit blunt—I just tend to trust men way more than women when it comes to this kind of stuff. Anyway, he was just incredible! He was so incredibly polite and genuinely gentle with me, probably because he could tell it was my very first time and didn't want me to be nervous. Seriously, he was top-tier. Highly recommend him if you're looking for someone great!
So, I finally made the switch over to Dr. Shedid—and let me tell you, the man is an absolute legend! Like, seriously, one of the best out there. I’ve been seeing him for five years now, and honestly, I wouldn't go anywhere else. He’s such a sweetheart that he even went out of his way to write me referrals for a urologist—which isn't even really his specialty, mind you—but he just does it anyway. I've basically been using him as my go-to for every little thing under the sun, even when it had absolutely nothing to do with his field! He’s originally from India, by the way, and he is just the kindest, most wonderful soul you could ever meet.
So, I finally headed over to the doctor's office today—just me lounging there while he does his thing—and we ended up just chatting about all sorts of random nonsense. Honestly, I don't know why I get so worked up about these appointments! It’s just a doctor, right? No need for all that nervous energy. Anyway, during our little chat, I actually found out something pretty wild—did you guys know that a child can actually catch HPV from their mom during birth? Apparently, it can just sit there in a latent state, totally undetected, so nobody even realizes it's happening. Just one of those things you never think about until it pops up in conversation!
Look, I wouldn't trade him for any woman out there—seriously. To me, gender doesn't even matter in this context; at the end of the day, you just need someone who can actually get the job done properly, right? That’s the bottom line! And as for those people complaining about having "bad skin" or feeling awkward about being undressed... honestly, they got exactly what they deserved. If you're physically capable of having sex, then you should be perfectly fine with getting undressed in front of a doctor—it’s not about being shameful, it's about medical necessity! Health is way more important than a little bit of embarrassment, don't you think?
So, if you guys are actually looking for a female gynecologist—and I mean someone who is actually decent, professional, and, well, great in bed—I’ve got a solid recommendation for you! You should definitely check out Dr. Puvacic. She works the opposite shift from Dr. Shedida, so if that timing works better for you, there you go. A close friend of mine goes to her regularly and she is absolutely thrilled with the experience—super happy! If anyone wants her direct number, just shoot me a private message and I'll send it over.

Oh man... seriously, not you again, Puvacicka! I’m actually hanging out with her right now—which, let’s be real, means I am officially ready and more than willing to trade in my gin!
Honestly, her physical exam wasn't even that bad! It’s just—get this—she was in such a massive rush that she basically decided to base her entire diagnosis solely on my eye color... can you believe that? Talk about cutting corners!
So, I actually had to make the tough call once to refuse stepping out of the office for an exam—and honestly? I was totally right to do it, because things were turning into a complete disaster...
Honestly, Chedid is an absolute legend—seriously! 😁
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend that at all—seriously! I had this one experience where I completely mixed up my pills, and let me tell you, the staff there was absolutely useless. They couldn't figure out what was wrong to save their lives! But then, this old doctor from the same clinic—who’s actually retired now, by the way—stepped in and sorted the whole mess out in like five minutes flat. It was such a relief!
So, expertise... hmm... let me think about that for a second—it’s one of those things that sounds so simple when you say it out loud, right? But once you actually start digging into what it means to truly *know* something, it gets a little messy! —not that I’m claiming to be an expert on anything, mind you, I'm mostly just winging it most days—but there's definitely a difference between just knowing a bunch of facts and actually having that deep, seasoned intuition that comes from years of trial and error. It’s like the difference between reading a cookbook and actually being able to taste when the sauce needs a pinch more salt without even looking at the recipe! You know? Anyway, just some food for thought while I ponder this!
