Jesse Flores842 said:Wait, seriously, where?

In the US, your sister's husband is your brother-in-law—just like your brother's wife is your sister-in-law.😉

So, she was clearly talking about her sister and her husband.

Washington, D.C.—or what? 🙄 😕
I'm from the Midwest, so I don't follow all this slang. 😎 😬
Where did our Moon child disappear to today? She was panicking so much yesterday, yet today there’s absolutely nothing to be heard from her.

Moon, just make sure you get that test done... and do it in the morning (if you haven't already).

One more thing, Moon—I think you might be a bit too young to have a son-in-law.🙄 😬(You mentioned somewhere above that you're heading out for the test with your sister and her husband...)

placidgardener19—that’s easy to say when we aren't all caught up in the hype.
It’s like saying I'll just sign up for a luxury ski trip 😁 without thinking about the cost.

I didn't go for the ski trip; 😬 instead, I followed Dr. Jonas's calendar method, and honestly, I can't complain. My cycle is finally back on track... 😍
Jesse Flores842 said:🙂 - I won't complain anymore...😬

Oh, I am truly sorry to hear that! 😢
If I were in your shoes, I’d just schedule an appointment for, say, next Monday with a private OB-GYN. You go in, get checked out, hopefully receive some wonderful news, pay the bill, and head home on cloud nine. (That’s the outcome I'm rooting for, though if she tells you it's a negative result, well, then you and your partner can just get back to the grind...)
Anyway, best of luck!
Jeffrey Cook55 said:Okay, help an outsider out here—what does "some number plus some number" actually mean?😕

I was actually going to ask the exact same thing. 👍
Are you all calculating this from day one of the last cycle, or strictly from the moment of conception? 🙄
MarinkaD said:Is sex during pregnancy actually safe? (Reading up on it...)😬 It can actually be more pleasurable than sex itself; women tend to have much stronger lubrication, which leads to far greater intensity and satisfaction.😉

👍 Precisely. 😬
Jeremy Nelson3 As Jeremy Nelson3 said:Look, maybe it’s not exactly sane, but I can't help myself. I’ve basically interrogated all my pregnant friends and those with little ones just to see if they felt anything early on. Turns out, none of them had any symptoms during those first two months—meanwhile, I feel like I’m experiencing every single pregnancy symptom in the book.

I’d sign up for a healthy pregnancy in a heartbeat, but if you ask me? I’d happily trade the morning sickness for a peaceful ride. 😬

We’ll be adding a little one to our family soon, too. Once that happens, we can join crimsoncrane3 in the club of early pregnancy misery and spend our time commiserating with one another.😬

I'm standing by—waiting on you all! 🙂 😘

Mandy, I’m stuck waiting until late November just to get an ultrasound—that’s the typical speed of our healthcare system here.🙏

Aaaaaa, is this wait ever going to end? 😲 Honestly, I’d just grab a drink... 🙂 If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be able to sit around waiting this long. Personally, I’d take the leap. $133 If you hire a private consultant, they’ll have an answer for you in a day or two, and you'll know exactly where you stand.

I think I'll give it one last shot with a final test—let's see if it holds up or if everything just goes sideways.🤣

I can't speak to the validity of those specific tests... In my experience, even the budget-friendly options worked just fine for me, whereas yours might not yield any results at all. 😕 Perhaps you just haven't had enough exposure to a little bit of chaos yet. What do I know? 😕
Jeremy Nelson3 and Emma, I’m hoping you both hit that + mark soon. I could really use some company for venting, bonding, and just general commentary... everyone else in my pregnancy group is already so far along that they have their own established cliques and stories. I’m looking for some fellow newcomers to talk to about how we're feeling right at the start. This is all brand new to me, and honestly, I feel completely lost regarding what to expect during this phase.
I keep hearing that every expectant mother deals with nausea and misery in the early stages, yet I haven't experienced any symptoms at all. 😲 🙄 😕
Jeremy Nelson3 said:I saw my OBGYN two weeks ago, but I still have to book an appointment and wait for the ultrasound.👎
How far along are you now? 🙂 I’m honestly just so happy for all of you.😍
Well, we'll just have to wait and see how things develop. (Up until now, I've been avoiding everything that could potentially affect the baby—I've even pushed through headaches rather than taking anything.)🤣

It was about two and a half to three weeks after ovulation for me, so based on this month, if my last period started on September 27th... I should be five weeks along, assuming my math is right.🤔 🙄
I was doing the exact same thing before I even knew I was pregnant, so don't worry—you aren't doing anything wrong by being cautious.
My first pregnancy test was such a faint line I could barely even see it. Even though I knew deep down it was positive, I still went out and grabbed another one this morning just for some peace of mind—and within five seconds, two solid lines popped up. In fact, the control line showed up even faster than the other one 😬
I kept thinking about my friend Pepper; when she took her second test, the line didn't show up at all, and she just sat there praying it would finally appear...
I'm crossing everything for you that the doctor confirms it's official 👍
placidgardener19 said:Congratulations on the upvote.
I’ve barely managed to hold myself back from posting anything here for eight long weeks. 🤣
I told two of my girlfriends the same thing this morning, though I was certain they wouldn't breathe a word to anyone.
Then I thought to myself—to hell with it. If things turn out to be spontaneous, that’s just part of my story, and I want to share it with the people who actually matter to me. I have no intention of pretending everything is perfect or acting like none of this has affected me.

Regarding the inspection: I’m with the group here—don't head out before 6:00. It would be like showing up to a Broadway premiere before the curtain even rises; there's simply no point.
It’s either all working or it isn’t, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
The numbers, it seems, are actually on your side. 👍
Just relax and trust that everything will work out; we’ll get there eventually. 🙂

I’ve decided to go with the second option: dealing with actual human beings. 😁 I’m going to hold off on sharing anything else for a while. To those of you I haven't met in person yet, feel free to ask away—otherwise, I'd have absolutely no one to talk to, and I have a million questions bubbling up.
Thanks to everyone for the support; I’m certainly feeling the weight of it right now.
Benjamin Nelson8 said:Better hurry up and book those delivery appointments and get registered...

How do you actually calculate how far along you are? 🙈 (Is there a way to post this anonymously so I can hide my identity? 😂 )
My last period started on September 27th, and I think I ovulated somewhere between October 12th and 15th—my cycles are notoriously unpredictable.
Ugh, *sniffle*! Thanks, ladies!

I feel so strange, almost like I’m hiding a secret or losing my mind. It’s funny how I end up opening up and sharing everything with you all online, while my husband and I have agreed to keep this entirely under wraps for at least a month or two—at least until I’m further along.
He’s terrified of getting our hopes up too early, fearing we might face a miscarriage and then have the whole family treating us like we were being reckless. (Though, honestly, I doubt they’d actually say anything...)
As for me, I’m just praying that this sticks and that everything stays on track.
I think I’ve picked up a bit of this paranoia from watching you all.😬

It feels like you’re the only "real" people I can actually talk to about this stuff, since my husband doesn't really grasp the nuances of it all.😬
Part of me is so happy I could burst and tell everyone right now; I know my parents and his parents would absolutely lose their minds with joy if they knew.😍
Jeremy Nelson3 said:Congrats, crimsoncrane3🎉!!!
Well, he’s certainly acting like a man who just saw two lines on a stick🤣
I'm honestly thrilled😘 , though my cycle is running about two days late, so who knows—maybe I'm just playing tricks on myself
P.S. The ladies at CVS are starting to give me side-eye because I've picked up three different tests in the last two weeks😬

Yeah, my husband is definitely the real deal! 😬
I grabbed one of those cheap First Response tests for about $4.25 and while driving home, I kept thinking, 'There is no way this budget option actually caught something,' but it turns out 👍
Benjamin Nelson8 said:Unless you've dealt with miscarriages or specific pelvic issues, there’s really no point in going in before the 7th week.
I actually went at 5 weeks just to rule out an ectopic pregnancy (due to PCOS), and all we could see was the gestational sac. I waited until the 8th week to go back, which is when we could actually see the heartbeat and the baby was about 2 cm long.

Just hold off until that 7th week so you aren't constantly stressing out before every appointment.

Occasional cramping or some abdominal discomfort is perfectly normal—everything is expanding and growing rapidly right now.
The only time you should worry is if you experience intense, persistent pain or any bleeding. If that happens, head straight to your OBGYN or the ER.
As long as that isn't happening, just relax and enjoy the ride.

Benjamin Nelson8, I haven't had any miscarriages (thank Quincy!), and during my checkup back in February, everything with my ovaries looked fine.
But how am I supposed to know if cysts have developed since then? Or if this is an ectopic pregnancy? 😲How can I tell on my own?
Am I waiting too long to get checked out? 😲And if it actually *is* an ectopic pregnancy, what signs should I be looking for?
What else should I be doing in the meantime? Besides taking prenatal vitamins and eating healthy?
Ladies, I need help!!!
mandy said:Exactly. If the line was clear enough to see, then it’s definitely time to celebrate. 😘

Thanks, I'm absolutely thrilled!
Do I need to run another test in a few days just to be sure?
Linda Hernandez15 said:crimsoncrane3, welcome to the club! It’s finally happening. 😍
Honestly, the shade of that line doesn't matter; the fact that it's there is what counts. 😘

Oh my gosh, I am absolutely over the moon!!! 🙂

So, when should I schedule my first prenatal appointment? I don't want to show up too early and be a nuisance.
Or should I just wait a few days and take another test to see if the line gets any darker?

I’ve been dealing with some confusing symptoms lately—headaches, hot flashes, a massive appetite, sore breasts, and sharp pains near my right ovary... we actually tried to conceive during ovulation, so I was dying to know.🤔 I took a test and saw a second line, though it's incredibly faint, almost invisible. My partner insists there isn't one there at all. Am I just seeing things? Has anyone else dealt with this kind of uncertainty?😲

When I took my test and spotted that pale second line, I immediately thought of what pepper_queen mentioned. It wasn't even two or three lines; I just turned to my husband and asked how many he saw, and he goes, "Two—it's just that the bottom one is way lighter than the top." 😍 😍 Honestly, he was totally clueless! And I was just as lost myself! 😍
My ovulation window was somewhere around October 12th–14th, which was when we first started trying to make things happen...
On Saturday morning, I took a test and saw those two lines😍 😍 (even though the second one was pretty faint, it definitely showed up!)
I did the test about 14 days after ovulation, and honestly, I haven't felt a single symptom yet!!! 😲 (well, except for my period being late...) 😍

I’m dealing with a few symptoms that have me second-guessing everything (headaches, hot flashes, an insatiable appetite, tender breasts, and some sharp pains near my right ovary...). We were trying to conceive right around ovulation, and being so curious, 🤔 I decided to take a test. I think I see a second line, but it's incredibly faint—almost invisible. My partner insists there's nothing there at all. Am I just seeing things? Has anyone else dealt with this kind of ambiguity?😲

How much time had passed between ovulation and when you took the test?
