Yeah. Like, today he remembers everything from decades ago, but if you say one thing to him? Gone. Forgotten in five minutes. He just keeps asking the exact same question over and over. He even brings up this thing where he tells me how I was such a little terror when I was a kid... 😁 basically saying I used to lash out at everyone.😁
I’ve got alcoholics in my family... he's been through rehab at a facility in Washington, D.C. a few times, but the second he walked out those doors, he was right back to his old ways. It hit a breaking point once when they found him unconscious and wasted at a train station in Chicago. Since then, he’s trying to keep it under control, but obviously, he can't live alone—he wouldn't stand a chance. Man, alcoholism is a nightmare. Major respect to anyone who actually pulls through it. Sadly, it usually just ends up wrecking the whole family.
To add to that, he spent a year at a treatment center in Vermont recently, and honestly, it looks like he’s recovering. He’s put on some weight and sticks to non-alcoholic beer now. He ended up at the facility because he’d completely lost himself—started talking nonsense and couldn't even recognize his own family. When I ask if he misses the real stuff, he just says no, non-alcoholic isn't the same... but he knows he can't touch the hard stuff again, or he'll end up blowing all his money.
Depression plays such a huge part in it, too. I remember how everyone used to jump down his throat constantly. I always felt bad for him because I knew he was struggling with depression the whole time; it was never easy for him. Looking back, I think he was just an addict at heart.

Honestly, I think it’s all just marketing hype. If you want a wound to heal fast, you leave it open to the air. That’s how it works. No bandages needed. Me? Whenever I scrape myself up or get a cut, I never reach for a Band-Aid... I'm dying to hear what the nurses would say about this...
Look, if you're dealing with extra skin after pregnancy and it’s hanging down past your bikini line, there's no magic fix. No fancy creams, no endless hours at the gym—none of it is gonna cut it. If there's that much excess tissue, surgery is basically the only way to actually get things tightened up again. Just do me a favor and do some digging online. Go browse through some top-tier plastic surgeons' websites and see for yourself.

anyway, what's it actually like in Germany? I have zero interest in dealing with that mess—medical stuff is way too pricey there. Like, if you see a doctor for the first time in a year, you're looking at a $300 bill easy. 😠 I haven't even had to see a doctor here yet... and honestly, fingers crossed I never do. 🙂

I’m honestly wondering what the deal is with healthcare in America right now... like, how long are you actually waiting in a place like Chicago just to get a mammogram? My guess is we're looking at a minimum of several months before anyone even sees a doctor. easy for people in Germany or Switzerland to say😁
Look, you’re way better off seeing a private doctor if you want things handled quickly... but what about mammograms? I feel like the wait times for those appointments are absolutely brutal lately.. how often do you guys actually go for your screenings, or do you even bother going at all?
