Thomas Collins60 said:Read what I actually wrote—I didn't say you should just wing it without doing any research, I said you'd be the one getting your blood drawn
even though the question was really just about whether you know how to read blood test results
think about it: when you walk into a CVS and ask for something, the pharmacist is going to hand you whatever they think is best—so you basically just go with their choice, right?
why wouldn't you just choose for yourself? after you've done a little digging—you know, reading up, Googling, actually getting informed—there’s so much information out there that you can figure out what actually makes sense for you
now, I'm not trying to say we're all smarter than doctors or that Google is a replacement for medical expertise, but being well-informed is such a huge advantage in this day and age—plus, let's be honest, you won't always have a doctor standing right next to you

Look, I was speaking in general terms. I'm not going to do things halfway because that usually just leads to bigger complications down the road.
I always look things up before making a move, including this. Thanks to everyone for the input, anyway.🙂
I’m not going to gamble with my own health; I have zero interest in sabotaging myself.
I’m going to look for something much milder. All I know is that I’ve read way too many horror stories about Diane 35 to even consider it.
It was always the same old story—everyone would be spinning their wheels, obsessing over how to grease some palms just to get a quick fix, only for things to revert back to exactly how they were before...
Another country altogether... :/ (I always handle things privately)
I've been struggling with body acne for a while now. My face usually stays pretty calm and manageable—nothing major there—but my body has always been an issue, consistently stubborn. I'm really hoping these pills finally help settle everything down.
I don't want to sound dull or slow here; I’m just weighing my options... and obviously, I have no intention of taking matters into my own hands. If that were the case, I would’ve done it by now 😁 instead of trying to play "doctor" on my own.

I'm simply asking because when I crunch the numbers to see how much it would cost to cover everything, it comes out a little higher than I expected. I went to the clinic about a year ago and everything went smoothly, so if there was a way to skip this specific step, I’d only be looking at it from a financial standpoint...
But it looks like that's just making things more complicated, so I'll head back to the clinic and follow the standard procedure. 😁

One more thing—which treatments are the mildest but still actually effective against body acne? Maybe something with jasmine??
Thanks so much 🙂
Can I just head over to an urgent care clinic, ask them to run some blood work to check if my liver is doing okay, and just pick up my pills there? Basically, can I skip seeing the specialist altogether?
PS, how do they even decide which specific pill is right for someone if they aren't actually testing hormones? I looked into hormone testing and man, it is incredibly expensive... so I have a feeling most places don't bother doing it unless it's absolutely necessary.

PPS, what else do they typically look for in a standard blood panel besides liver function?

I’ve dealt with skin issues my entire life—nothing extreme, just those annoying little flare-ups that come and go, sometimes more intense than others. That’s really the main reason I’d be looking into this. 🙂

Hey everyone,
I was wondering, which specific hormones actually get tested when you have blood drawn? I know they look at sexual 😁 levels, but which ones specifically? 😁

My boyfriend and I have regular sex, and we always use condoms, but one day right after my period ended, we had sex without a condom, though he didn't finish inside me.
Is it possible that I'm pregnant?😕😕
Also, we just had a holiday break where I was sleeping until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, but now that school has started back up, I'm waking up really early every day. Could that be why my period is late?

Thanks.

I don't want to come off as harsh... but being 16 and having sex while knowing less about it than a toddler is honestly pretty scary.
Is it possible you're pregnant? Yes.
What are the odds? They're very slim, but they definitely exist.

Good luck.

Since my period isn't due for another ten days, I really doubt it's just PMS.
Is it possible I somehow caught a chill or something and it's affecting my ovaries?
Ever since I started on the pill, I haven't had any mid-month cramping like this, so I'm honestly stumped about what's causing it.

That’s a possibility; I’ve got a cold right now and my whole body just aches.😁

Kimberly Bennett72 said:I have a quick question. I've been under a massive amount of stress and shock lately, and my period just showed up on the 15th instead of around the 28th. Does this actually happen? Should I be worried?

Yeah, it definitely happens. It’s actually happened to me twice before—having two periods in a single month.

Angela Long93 said:I wanted to pick your brains on something. I had my first period about five years ago. For the first couple of years, everything was totally regular, but then out of nowhere, it just stopped. Now, I only get it maybe twice a year. I’ve seen my OB-GYN, of course, and he keeps telling me everything is fine—that it’s probably just stress or because my weight dropped too low. He put me on some hormone therapy, and while I'm taking it, things seem normal, but as soon as I stop, my cycle disappears again. I've been on this medication for about two years now, and honestly, it feels a bit ridiculous. Every time I go in, the doctor just shrugs it off as "stress" and writes me a new prescription. I even went in to have my thyroid checked, though it wasn't a full blood panel—the doctor just felt my neck to see if there was any swelling, and she said it looked okay. I'm genuinely at a loss here... am I really supposed to be on these hormones for the rest of my life? Has anyone else dealt with something similar, or does anyone have any advice? Thanks! 😉

Maybe it's time to find a new doctor?

Betty Kelly24 said:Look, I’m not an idiot. I have my appointment on the 16th, so we'll just have to see what the doctor says... though knowing her, she'll probably tell me I'm acting crazy. But until then, I'm just trying to see if anyone else has gone through this or if there's anything useful out there.

Hey, take a breath—I never said you were.
Suggesting you go talk to a gynecologist wasn't meant to be a dig; honestly, I was just trying to be helpful because you aren't going to get much more than vague guesses on a forum like this.

Anyway, good luck 😉

Betty Kelly24 said:Hmm, I guess it’s incredibly risky and irresponsible or whatever... but my boyfriend is visiting this weekend (he lives in New York) and then he heads back there for three days, and we won't see each other again until mid-next month... blah blah blah... I'm also expecting my period during that time, which is the last thing I need right now 🙄 I don't take birth control pills... so, does anyone know if there are any tablets? I heard about something called Primolut Nor?? Did any of you have info on that, or maybe some other solution for me 🙂?

Go see a gynecologist for advice as soon as possible.
Because just sitting here in a room at my computer on a forum 😁 isn't going to get you anything concrete or helpful.

Good luck 🙂

I suspect your period is just overdue, but since your cycle is irregular, it’s almost impossible to pinpoint your fertile window accurately. (Though, again, if there was no internal ejaculation, it might be a moot point unless you’ve had some serious bad luck.🤷

Plus, even if your cycles were perfectly regular, relying solely on calendar tracking isn't exactly a foolproof method.

Laura Perez23 said:I’m no doctor, but it feels like about seven days before ovulation and seven days after, the chances of conceiving are pretty much zero or at least incredibly slim... feel free to set me straight if I've got that wrong.

Actually, you're mistaken there.
It’s technically possible any time; it really just comes down to how high the odds are during those specific windows.

It’s probably just a common cold.

I think I’d lose my mind if I had to wait that long...

Thanks for the heads-up, though I really hope you're right... because so far, I've got absolutely nothing to show for it. 😢

Honestly, I didn't do anything risky at all.😁
