Toxic hair dyes? in Health ·
The fact that hair dye can be harmful isn't exactly news—we've known this for decades here in the States. It just feels like a sudden headline lately because people are finally paying attention. Honestly, any kind of dye is pretty rough on you since it relies on chemicals to force the hair to actually take the pigment. People talk about plant-based dyes, but those are much weaker; the hair doesn't grab onto them as well, which is why they aren't nearly as popular. I actually know a few stylists who gave up on herbal dyes entirely for that exact reason—customers weren't happy with the results, and you end up having to touch up their hair way more often! Generally speaking, blondes have it tougher because they have to go through the whole bleaching process with peroxide before even applying color. But if you ask me, the most at-risk group is the stylists themselves, breathing in all those fumes while working with them day in and day out.
Honestly, just having a period while on birth control isn't really a solution. You should probably look into all your options ASAP, because the real goal should be getting your cycle back to normal naturally, without the pills. A close friend of mine dealt with PCOS, and because she didn't take any steps to manage it, she ended up with some pretty brutal hormonal imbalances—we're talking weight gain, hair thinning, and she almost developed ovarian cancer. She went an entire year without a period, but after trying a bunch of different methods and tests, some homeopathic supplements actually did the trick for her. Now she’s back on track and doesn't even need the pill anymore. I really hope you can get this figured out and find a treatment plan that actually works for you.🙂 🙂 🙂
