Jacob Fisher2 said:Hey everyone... So, we were chatting yesterday about how much fish we should be aiming for per person, right? We've got a group of 120 people coming, so what kind of portion size are we looking at for the girls?
Just went in for my checkup. The staff was super nice and all, but honestly... you aren't going to walk away with much intel just by chatting with the doctors. As for OBGYN? Total waste of time. It felt like they either don't actually know their stuff or they just can't be bothered to explain things unless they feel like being a saint every single second. I’ll probably stick to going there only when I need quick labs or bloodwork done, since they handle that fast enough.
So we ordered the cake... it's gorgeous 😍 It’s this pale pastel green with white frosting vines swirled all over, three tiers high, and there's these rows of little white pearls lining the base of every layer 😍 The whole thing is going to be paired with these ivory-greenish real roses and lisianthus tucked into the top and sides. Flavor-wise, we went with chocolate-vanilla parfait on the bottom, chocolate in the middle, and fruit on the top tier. Here's a bunch of photos from it, just a bit above
Ordered from Smile Cake in Yellowstone for about 150 people $467.
Nathan Barnes79 said:Can anyone help me out? We’re looking at a wedding with over 250 people... and we definitely want to give everyone little boxes of treats to take home. I'm trying to figure out how many pounds of cookies or pastries we actually need, especially since his mom is making some stuff for us and herself at home, even though his wife is basically a pro baker... If anyone's dealt with something like this before, please help!!!!!
I heard you should aim for about 7 ounces of treats per box.
Anthony Nguyen85 said:Thanks! 20 kg for 150 people?! Wow, that's a massive difference from what I was planning. Did you give any away later, or was it all just for the hotel? I'm assuming this little bakery is in Chicago 😢, so it doesn't really help me much right now!!
I forgot to mention that my estimate of 30 kg for 80 people includes the cocktail hour—you know, that gathering before the ceremony starts. 🤷 But I guess it's all basically the same thing anyway. 😕
That's way too much, honey. You're going to have a mountain of leftovers.🤷
Anthony Nguyen85 said:Right? Now I just have to explain that logic to our moms... good luck with that. :-)
Oh, please. Just tell them if they’ve got money to burn, they should just order out—or better yet, bake 50 pounds of cookies themselves! What is wrong with people???
Anthony Nguyen85 said:How much dessert should I get for about 80 guests? Our moms are insisting we need 30 pounds!! That seems like way too much to me, maybe? What do you guys think? We aren't even planning on doing a formal dessert service, just having some extra on hand if someone happens to want something.
no way in hell that much.😲 just aim for about 5 ounces per person.
I've actually heard quite a bit about them—people seem to rave about their service...🙂
Have you already finalized those details? And what kind of flavors are we thinking for the cakes?
Personally, I don't see it being an issue since my three kids are all in different places—though I'm honestly stumped on what kind of filling to go with...😢
Nothing is set in stone yet; we still need to swing by their shop. We just talked on the phone, so I have no idea what the flavor options are.🤷 As long as it looks pretty, I'm good.🤣
I’d want a cake like that first one, but maybe leaning more towards a light green instead of purple And it needs those little white pearls from the second one 😁
I'm totally on board with the second option too. Honestly, if we keep the cake simple and skip all those fancy little rose decorations or whatever, I think it’ll actually look way more elegant and romantic. 👍
That cake and the stand are gorgeous 🙏 perfect for Trajbar! I'm low-key jealous! 😁
QUOTE=Francesca;17582990]rustybison19, have you checked out that bakery in suburban Chicago that partners with Trajbar? They suggested them to me because it takes the cake stress off your plate—you just pick one and they handle the delivery...
I haven't actually tried them yet though...
Haven't been anywhere yet. 😉 Plus, we're handling the cake ourselves, so I'm not sure how that would even work with a bakery that already has a standing deal with TT I just scrolled through their cakes online and honestly? Not really my vibe. 😢
