If you're hanging around the Upper West Side area, there's Nemetova Medical Clinic right up there... honestly such a fantastic spot! I'd definitely suggest checking out Dr. Dubret👍

Ugh, but I seriously have to jump in here because this whole idea that vets are somehow more caring or "human" toward animals than MDs are toward people is just... wow...
Honestly, I’ve never heard anything more ridiculous. From what I can tell, I’ve dealt with doctors being cold and totally negligent way more often than any patient would ever deal with their vet...
(just responding to Ronald Hernandez15's point here, not Roger Foster3's take)
Everything you said is spot on...
But I’m still totally lost on that one comment about the "vet"... what was even that about?? 😕 😕
Ronald Hernandez15 said:I honestly think she needs to rethink her career in veterinary medicine because explaining basic stuff to her feels like an uphill battle against impossible odds, it's like there's just nothing going on up there...
Basically, I'm done with the clinic in Hartford.😠 😠 😠
Man, I'm really sorry things went down that way for you, but I'm totally lost on that one part, could you please walk me through what you meant if you don't mind...

Check out the Nemetova Clinic. I actually see this young doctor there and honestly, she is just incredible... She talks to me like we're old friends, actually listens instead of rushing you out the door, and the whole vibe is night and day compared to those "standard" doctors you find elsewhere!!
Prices are pretty much what you'd expect for a private practice, but if you want the specific details on her, hit me up in a DM and we can chat more about it...👍
Metusa, you from around the NYC area?
Look, I’ve been thinking about this, and honestly... you don't actually need a formal referral just to go see a gynecologist. You can just book an appointment and go. But, if you're looking to get on birth control, you're gonna need that doctor's note from your primary care physician first so they can order the blood work... 🙂
Well, look, that’s just how physics works... it goes the deepest in, so obviously that’s where you’re going to feel the most, and yeah, sometimes it can actually be a bit much, you know? Because let's be real, we women aren't exactly bottomless pits...
Metusa said:I know we’ve probably touched on this topic a bunch of times already, and I really don't want to be *that* person... it's just, I finally need to actually go see a gynecologist, it's about time🙄 ... and not at one of those private clinics, but like... the regular public ones. 🙄 I want to get on birth control pills... I've been sexually active for a while now.😍 So, my questions are:
1. What kind of stuff are they going to do to me?
2. Uh, do you need a prescription for that, or...?
3. And how much does it cost if I'm not going to a private doctor?
So, basically, your primary care doctor has to give you a referral to see a gynecologist, and if you want to save yourself some extra trips, just ask that same doctor for a blood work referral right away. Once you get those blood results back and head to the gynecologist, they'll use all that info to figure out which specific pills are right for you, and that's pretty much the whole deal. They'll write up a little prescription for the pills, which you can take to the pharmacy—just keep in mind you'll have to pay for the medication itself regardless of whether you see a private doctor or use the public system... 😬
First things first—go talk to a doctor. They’ll probably just brush it off and tell you it’s nothing, but honestly, you’ve got absolutely nothing to lose by checking... better safe than sorry, right?
Second—it could just be that you’re swallowing too much air, which ends up messing with your pressure levels.
Third—it might just be a matter of positioning, where your anatomy just isn't quite clicking with theirs... I mean, sometimes organs are just "mismatched" for certain setups. It’s been like that for me too, though it wasn't always an issue with every guy I was with. When I was with someone a bit more "gifted," that pressure felt way more intense... and when you add the air factor into the mix, everything just feels awkward...
Exactly. You should really try to get a second opinion and maybe look at a different date too... Honestly, the surgery itself isn't nearly as scary as people make it out to be, and there's a pretty solid chance they'll manage to clear out all those tumor cells...
I’ve actually had a doctor turn me away before just because I was already seeing someone else... and then this particular doc went and refused to even perform a colposcopy on me twice...
Whatever. We’ll get through it anyway...
Yeah, so they went ahead and did my colposcopy and biopsy. And get this—not a single soul mentioned local anesthesia... I didn't even realize you could actually have that done under general anesthesia...
What am I even supposed to do now? I guess I'll just check in with my own doctor, because there is absolutely no way I'm ever stepping foot back in that clinic on Petrovac Street again...
Ugh, I was in so much pain, it was actually unreal. I went to see Dr. Coric over at the Mayo Clinic, and honestly... he had to take tissue samples multiple times from different spots, so he ended up doing biopsies like 4 or 5 times! It was just awful...
After everything was done, I could barely even move, let alone walk—getting to my car felt like a marathon, and then I just sat there for two hours straight, totally wiped out.
My pads were absolutely soaked through with blood, and I was still bleeding heavily for three days after the whole thing was over.
Seriously, that doctor is a total sadist, I'm calling it now!! :-)
Listen, folks, I have no idea what your experiences with colposcopies have been like, but I was over at the Mayo Clinic today for that whole "wellness event" thing, and honestly... I have to tell you, that was hands down the most excruciating pain I’ve ever dealt with in my entire life. And don't even get me started on how I had to walk for the next few hours afterward...
Basically, total nightmare!
So, now I'm wondering if anyone else out there has had an exam that felt just as brutal, or if my doctor is just some kind of straight-up sadist...
Btw
Does anyone happen to know if there's some kind of website out there where you can actually drop questions for gynecologists and get real answers, obviously?... Pliva Health doesn't really support that kind of thing anymore, and I’m honestly feeling a bit lost on where else to even look...😕
Help
Tnx 😘
