My bad!! I meant in New York City, obviously. 👋
I'm looking for some info on Dr. Nicholas Smiljanic's gynecology practice over on Grahorova Street. Has anyone here actually been there? If so, what was your experience like?
I’ve been looking into Harni... I think I’ll head there, but I’d really love to find someone who works with the Social Security Administration too. If anyone can help me out with that or recommend a good contact, I’d be so grateful! :-) =>In the US, obviously.
Otherwise, I had a nightmare experience with a terrible gynecologist in New York—Dr. Traven. She was cold, superficial, and just a complete nightmare. She prescribed antibiotics that totally wrecked my system, and I feel even worse now. On top of that, she started me on birth control without running any preliminary tests, which ended up giving me an allergic reaction! Her only comment was, "Well, you just didn't get lucky." It was completely demoralizing. And I’m definitely not the only one who’s dealt with her; the woman is an absolute disaster!

So, here is why I started this thread in the first place.
Now that you all know what’s been going on with my situation... I have to ask: Is there any gynecologist in the city who will actually see you immediately if you're dealing with an issue like an infection?
About a month ago, I went to the campus health clinic, saw Dr. Greg, and told them it was urgent. I listed all my symptoms, but the nurse just told me that "emergencies" are only things like heavy bleeding, and that I’d need to book an appointment. So, I scheduled one three weeks out... and I explained everything during that booking.
I ended up seeing a GP instead, who prescribed some meds... and it seemed fine for a bit. But clearly, after those three weeks, things flared right back up. I had to get more antibiotics, and then it settled, only for the problems to return again yesterday.
I won't get into the gritty details; there’s really no point.
I can't just go to my regular doctor for free, and honestly, I want someone who takes my case seriously. It isn't normal to be dealing with these symptoms constantly for months at a time.
Please, if anyone has a solid recommendation, let me know. I don't care if it's a private practice—I am more than willing to pay for the exam and the tests just to get this resolved once and for all.
Where can I go right now to get actual advice and an exam?
Thanks so much. 👋
I’m dealing with almost identical issues myself... so I was wondering, did you ever manage to find a good gynecologist? My situation is a bit tougher because I just moved to the city and have no idea where to even start looking. If you don't mind, I would be so grateful if you could reply to my email:
darta@net.hr
I’m new to Washington, D.C., so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good OB-GYN? Ideally, I'd love to find a private practice that accepts Medicare where I won't have to wait forever for an appointment. I'm looking for someone who is approachable, patient, and kind...🙂 Thanks, everyone!

Exactly!
Is laminate flooring actually bad for your health? I've heard some worrying things, so I’m curious—how much of an issue is it really, and what causes the risk?
Can someone please explain how I can tell if I actually have hemorrhoids? I’ve heard there are different types... basically, it happens quite often, though not constantly—maybe a few times a month, there's no real pattern. My bowel movements are usually regular and fine, but occasionally I deal with significant pain during a movement, and sometimes there's blood. Usually, I don't feel anything, but then this happens. My doctor claims this is just "normal" for us college students, which doesn't really comfort me much at all.
Also, does anyone know of an effective remedy? My brother was officially diagnosed, and his doctor prescribed some medications and ointments—something like FactSet—but he's actually feeling worse. He isn't a student, so dealing with this is even more of a struggle for him... Is there anything out there that is absolutely proven to make them go away for good?😕
Karen White13 said:My nails have actually started peeling, which has never happened to me before. I’m already taking multivitamins, so I’m wondering why this is happening? Am I missing some specific vitamins?...
...Just to clarify, they aren't peeling at the tips; it's higher up, where the top protective layer is just lifting off. The underneath part looks matte instead of shiny. I'm wondering if it's from all the yard work I've been doing lately. I've been out in the garden constantly the last few days, working myself to death—and obviously without any gloves.😢
Could that be it? Did I just wear them down too much?😕
Please advise!
Listen... avoid colored polishes for a while. If you absolutely have to wear something, look for a treatment enriched with vitamins and calcium—Vitaskin makes some decent ones that aren't too harsh. Only use a buffer if they get uneven, and occasionally rub them with some lemon juice (it works wonders!). When you're washing dishes or doing laundry—and you should be doing this VERY OFTEN—wear gloves. Also, keep your hands and nails moisturized; pick something with a natural base. You can find plenty of options at Walgreens or your local pharmacy...
As for the vitamins, they probably won't make much of a difference, except for maybe a B-complex. You can find those in brewer's yeast capsules at Walgreens—that stuff is great! Or Fitoval capsules... but you can take yeast continuously, and it's more natural. Honestly, it worked 100% for me. I deal with these kinds of issues quite often, including with my hair and skin... and nothing helps me quite like natural products and essential oil blends.
