Inland Empire by David Lynch in Movies ·
To go along with the symbolism in the film, I’d throw in one more moment...
I'd love to hear from those of you who've actually sat through this one.
It’s about those spirits—or whatever kind of entities they are—and how tightly they're tethered to our world, their constant circling, that sense of being trapped...
I’m talking about the number 47, which the lead actress manages to untangle, ultimately triggering the liberation of evil.
Do you remember the story about the boy and the girl?

Amanda Lopez50 said:...boldmaker8 is probably thinking of Mattia Pellonpaa, likely Akijev's "most loyal" actor... I'm not sure if he was some Finnish version of Sherbedzija (honestly, I don't even know who the American equivalent of Sherbedzija is 🙂), but unfortunately, he isn't anymore...😢 and even Wikipedia doesn't have much on him... but try checking here, or maybe this link, might help you out...🙂

That’s it—that’s the ghost whose name I was hunting for!
I actually commented during the movie, "Look, there's his face, what happened to the guy?"
And then it hits you, he really is dead...

So, there are still some Leningrad cowboys left to catch. It'll cost you about $15 in NYC, and if anyone thinks that's too steep, feel free to head over to a small town in Ohio on June 2nd where they'll be playing on the main street for damn near nothing!

Man without a past,

What a wild ride of a movie. It’s packed with so many tropes—sudden spikes in tension, that god-awful whip, cheap dialogue that lacks any sense of class, and that whole legal mess inside the prison. Then you have this blue-collar guy turning into a super anti-hero who ends up as a rock manager... pretty brilliant stuff!

Oh, and I noticed something. I watched Calamara union and Ariel, and the same actor pops up in both. In Ariel, he’s like the ultimate prison cellmate ready for anything, while in the union flick, he plays Frank 😎 . Then in Man without a past, he just shows up in a photo at a bar after a standoff with the cops.
Is this guy in most Kaurismäki films? Is he basically the American Sherbedzija of that director's crew?
Forgiveness requires two people.

If you only look at forgiveness from the perspective of the one granting it, you’re essentially standing alone in an empty room.
You don't need some new contract or a formal vow to forgive—forgiveness isn't something you read about in a book or study like a textbook; it’s something you actually experience through living.
Most importantly, forgiveness has to serve a purpose and actually impact the person who was forgiven. Otherwise, it's just a way to run away from the problem rather than facing it.
