Leningrad Cowboys go America (1989)

🙏

...good grief, Kaurismäki 😍 😍 😍

...if every single person from this forum decides to crowd into the movie theater at once, there won't be any seats left 😁 👋

🎉 As a final treat, "THE LENINGRAD COWBOYS" will be taking the stage at the factory on June 1st.
There will be about 20 of them up there, making for a complete spectacle and a hell of a good time! 🙂

There’ll be about 20 of them up there, so expect a massive spectacle and some serious chaos!🙂

...are you kidding me?...honestly, all we need now is for them to bring Aki Kaurismäki along too. 😍

😂 Yes, indeed... and the Red Army as well🙂))
But I am certain their "manager" will make an appearance😉

I am quite looking forward to the concert!

If I lived in New York City...🙂

...Alright, the cycle has officially kicked off, so let's hear some thoughts 😍
...Did anyone catch Twilight? Or maybe Crime, assuming you haven't already seen it (even if you have)? For those of you who were at the festival last year—did the third part of the losing trilogy leave you feeling disappointed or actually impressed? 🙂 😍

...And was 😉Central Park🙂 swarming with forum regulars as expected?

Could anyone recommend a "best of" list of maybe 5 or 6 movies? I just can't seem to find the time to catch everything

...if that's the case, you should definitely check out what's left from his final trilogy—Traveling Cloud and Man Without a Past (both are absolutely phenomenal 😍), Leningrad Cowboys go America (I haven't seen it myself, but apparently it's his most famous 🙂), the girl from the match factory and, say, Ariel, or even Hamlet goes into business (mostly because if any of the others end up on the big screen in the future, I doubt you'll actually want to see them...) 🙂...but those are my top picks 🙂

edit: after watching it tonight, I'm adding Calamari union to the list—it's such a sweet and hilarious little riff on cinema 😍 (it's airing again this Wednesday 🙂 )

thanks a million

I caught a screening of Hamlet the other day. Honestly, it was one of the most compelling takes on the play I've seen in a long time. 🤣
Missed out on seeing The B-52's today, though. 😢

...whatever, there's always tomorrow 😉 🙂

...so, I missed Ariel today—which marks my first (literally the very first!) film in this series that I’ve both missed and have absolutely no intention of catching at Central Park...😢

...yeah, clearly I don't have a life 🙈 😬

I've already got all of his stuff on my hard drive 🙂

...look, I’ve got plenty of streaming options too—but at the end of the day, nothing beats the actual cinema experience 🙂

Honestly, movie snacks like these are the only reason I regret not living in New York City😵

Just finished watching The Beach Boys. Honestly? They didn't really do much for me. :\

That dry, Northern-style wit😍😍
I haven't had a chance to check out the European Union yet—does anyone know where I can find it?

Watched it last year. Truly—and I mean truly—terrible.
