Fainted / Passed out in Health ·
Well, I guess I’ve officially joined the "fainting club." 🙂

So, about 20 minutes ago, I was doing some exercises—totally overdid it a little bit, honestly—and then I stood up way too fast. The next thing I know, everything just went pitch black. There were these bright stars dancing in my eyes, and I felt completely wiped out and disoriented. When I finally came to, it took me a good while just to wrap my head around where I was, who I am, what I was even doing, or what day it was.

It was a terrifying feeling.

He's basically 🤣

And if you look at more recent stuff, he's kind of like Avatar Aang 😍
Vampires Suck in Movies ·
Honestly, it just feels like some half-baked, wannabe funny parody of a movie that wasn't even great to begin with. I can't say I'm exactly itching to go watch any of that stuff.

Don't mind the background—taking selfies in the bathroom is honestly pretty lame, but when there’s nobody around to snap a photo of me, I have to make do with a mirror.

so what's the deal, Nina F21—what exactly do you want us to say?
You don't think it's schizophrenia, you aren't looking for a psychiatrist, and even though you definitely didn't graduate from Johns Hopkins, you're somehow an expert on what's actually going on here.

Look, just take a crow feather, mix it with two cat whiskers in a bowl of sulfur dioxide and some sparkling water, toss in two tablespoons of oregano, drink the whole thing, and then at 2:15 tomorrow afternoon, stare out your window and yell "hibiscus kus kus meniscus" three times.

Is that the magic solution you're looking for?

Seriously, bravo 🙏

I should probably mention that this recipe actually works every single time. 😁

I'm definitely not seeing a psychiatrist; I don't think my situation is serious enough to warrant that kind of help.

Come on, walk me through the science here. How exactly does a nettle seed get into your veins, sprout, and grow into a plant with leaves traveling through your bloodstream just to sting you?

Are we talking about some kind of magical, microscopic nettles?

And you really don't think this is serious? That sounds like textbook schizophrenia to me.

stormymason5 said:I probably wouldn't be feeling them if they weren't actually there. Maybe other people have them too, but they don't feel them. These nettles wouldn't bother me if I wasn't constantly feeling that stinging sensation. I just want the feeling to stop, because it doesn't feel normal to be sensing something that everyone else seems to be ignoring.

They aren't feeling them because they don't have them. You don't have them either, but you're feeling them because you're H.A.L.L.U.C.I.N.A.T.I.N.G.

Now go get some sleep and tell us tomorrow how things went at your therapist's office.

Seriously, go lie down before things get any worse.

Is it definitely schizophrenia, or could it be something else entirely? Looking at that link, I feel like I don't check all the boxes, and besides, I really don't think these are hallucinations—what I'm experiencing feels way too real for that.

So, you're saying you believe those nettles in your veins are actually there just because you can feel them?
Think about that for a second.

Look, maybe you aren't checking every single box on the symptom list, but based on everything I've been reading, nothing else really fits the bill.

Trust me, even if your parents are totally slammed right now, they will make time for you when things get serious. Just go talk to them.

stormymason5 said:I'm not hallucinating; I feel this just as clearly as anything else.
I just can't get past the fear and the shame. It's completely overwhelming me. Plus, if I actually tried to get help, my parents would almost certainly find out, and since I'm only 17, I really don't want them to know.
Do you have any idea what kind of disorder this might be?

You're hallucinating.
Honestly, your parents really ought to know about this. Are they even noticing anything at all?

stormymason5 said:I clearly can tell now, because I've started doubting if things are normal, even if I couldn't see it before.

Look, the fact that you're level-headed enough right now to realize something isn't right is huge. Before the hallucinations kick back in, please, just push through the fear and the embarrassment. Seriously. A psychiatrist isn't going to judge you, laugh at you, or throw you into an asylum. They are there to actually help you.

stormymason5 said:I'm not joking. I have no idea what basis anyone would have to commit me to a hospital in New York City; nobody even knows about this, and even if they did, that alone isn't enough to get someone institutionalized.
I really don't think it's severe enough to warrant a trip to a psychiatrist.
Clearly, I can manage, considering I've been living like this for a year already. It's just that I've only recently started wondering if this is actually as normal as I originally thought.

Honestly, the scariest part is that you don't even realize how heavy this is.

It feels like you’ve lost your bearings a bit—like you can't quite tell where "normal" ends and things start getting concerning.

stormymason5 said:I don't know if people realize something is wrong. I've never actually seen them; I just hear them whispering behind my back, but when I turn around, there's nobody there.

I really wouldn't know how to explain this to a psychiatrist, and honestly, I'm too ashamed.

How can you say I'm on the edge between normal and crazy? Do you think I have some kind of dangerous disorder?😕😢

The answer to your question is in bold.

Oh my god, it sounds like things are playing tricks on you. Have you opened up to your parents or your friends about any of this?
When did you first start noticing these hallucinations, and what made you wait so long to take it seriously?

stormymason5 said:What do you mean by "troll"?
The reason I don't want to see a psychiatrist is because I'm worried they'll misinterpret my situation and prescribe meds I don't actually need. Plus, I don't want people looking at me like I've lost it just because I went to see one.🙄

A Troll? That’s basically just someone who lives to mess with people by spinning these ridiculous, fake narratives just to feed their own ego. It’s all a game to them. Honestly, if you're feeling lost, just remember: Google is your best friend.

Misinterpreting it? Trust me, a psychiatrist isn't just some random person off the street. Seeing one means you're sitting down with a highly trained, seasoned pro whose entire job is to help you get through it. It's like going to a specialist doctor when something feels off—you're looking for expertise, plain and simple.

Look, people are out here claiming the FBI is breathing down your neck. Honestly? I think they’re just messing with you because everyone can clearly tell something feels a little... off.

Nettles in your veins and leeches in your lungs? Seriously, you sound like you’re teetering right on that razor-thin line between totally sane and completely unhinged. Look, I’m saying this because I actually care: please go talk to a professional. I’m genuinely worried you might end up doing something drastic to yourself.
Is this a disorder? in Psychology & Therapy ·
Look, unless you're just being a Troll, I’d honestly say go talk to a professional for your own sake. It might really help.

I’ve also gotta ask—why are you so dead-set against seeing a psychiatrist? Is it just the fear of getting a diagnosis or something?

Seriously though, if you've got any heart issues, maybe don't even bother trying this stuff.
