It’s not what is said, it’s who is saying it. in Psychology & Therapy ·
I mean, wouldn't it be great if we actually had a say in who gets what time? Like, just being able to choose how all those hours are divvied up...

But honestly, in this fast-paced world where everything moves at lightning speed, you start to feel like the person doing the talking matters way more than what they’re actually saying, don't you?

How much truth is actually in that?
Are you guys generally happy with how much you talk to the people around you? Or do you find yourselves being super selective about what you share, maybe even splitting the truth depending on who's listening?

And honestly, how often do you catch people being blatantly calculative right to your face?

But honestly, no matter how much I try to stay positive, it’s just tough to get anything done when you're surrounded by people who clearly think they're way above everyone else.

This weekend’s been pretty lonely, honestly. Just sitting here waiting for work to pick back up. I’m trying my best to stay positive, though. No sense in crying over spilled milk, right?

I didn't get much affection growing up at home, and being such an outcast in high school didn't help matters either. It took me a long, long time after graduation to finally find my footing. Honestly, being that isolated for so long just made it hard for people around me to truly get who I am.

Look, I’m making just a bit more than minimum wage, so yeah, obviously I don't have a car right now.

I’m happy to pull my weight as a worker, but hey, I can play the role of a part-time comedian too when the mood strikes me.

Well, she can be a bit prickly sometimes—mostly just being passive-aggressive—but honestly, she keeps everyone at arm's length most of the time.

You’re totally missing the mark here. People like her just want that hollow, robotic kind of comfort—it's their little safety net, really. But let's be honest, they can be pretty cold-hearted when it counts. And look, I’m not some clown looking for attention; if I’m going out of my way to create a good vibe and spread some positive energy, I actually mean it.

That doesn't make up for such an incredibly cold approach

It just feels so good to head into work and come home with a smile on my face. I take pride in being a soldier—strong, reliable, and someone who really looks after themselves.

Some people just live by a messy set of rules, but I’ve finally reached a point where I’m too strong to let them drag me down into that mess

Look, I was never actually picking on her in person. Honestly, if anything, she just treated me like I didn't matter much. It's tough trying to connect with people who act totally cold toward you. At the end of the day, we spend so much of our lives at work, don't we? We weren't put on this earth to create these weird divides, but to actually look out for one another.

It looks like Kamencica {negative} is clearly intimidated by all that good energy. Honestly? It’s just karma catching up. She’ll get what’s coming to her eventually, somewhere down the line.

It’s just common sense, really—that deep-seated desire to belong. Maybe the younger crowd doesn't quite grasp it yet, but then again, I've lived enough life to have a pretty broad perspective on things.

Ah, well, some people are just built like stone. And honestly? That’s fine by me. Those types usually end up having a smoother ride through life anyway.

What's the deal with trying to "buy" people? I consider myself a bit of a logician, maybe a touch old-school too, but I just don't see the point in trying to "buy" anyone's affection or loyalty.

Who knows, right? Honestly, I can't really get behind how most younger people react these days—it just feels way too cold. For someone like me, an emotional introvert, those kinds of situations can be pretty awkward to navigate

Honestly, I find it way easier hanging out with the 40+ crowd. This one negative person is only about 30, but most of the younger folks just don't really click with me.
