Chubby fingers

Brachydactyly follows an autosomal dominant inheritance pattern—which explains why it seems to run through the whole family tree like clockwork.
I honestly don't see the point in getting surgery... though, if you'll indulge a quick little tangent of mine:
Since I play guitar, and my hands are pretty much just... average, I used to get a bit worked up whenever I saw someone like Steve Vai, who’s basically got limbs for fingers. I’d always tell myself that the only reason he sounds like a god while I sound like a beginner is because he’s blessed with those long, spindly digits... and then... I heard Django Reinhardt. You know, the guy whose hand was essentially ruined in a fire and ended up with very limited mobility, yet he managed to play absolutely brilliantly using just two fingers and a thumb.
So... yeah. That’s my take on it.
P.S. And let's be real, your kids will probably end up with similar physical quirks too.
