Ringing in my ears—what could it be? in Health ·
Yeah... I'm done popping antibiotics just because they're handed out like candy. I’m not that naive. I know how they work... especially the heavy hitters like Azithromycin... and this ENT doctor? All he knew how to do was scribble a damn prescription and tell me to come back in two or three weeks.
...And honestly, I don't owe any special thanks to the microbiologist. It’s ridiculous how much friction there is just to get a simple swab done, only to end up hitting a dead end. Even a regular lab tech told me the same thing recently, like, "Hmm, you actually have some deviation on the right side, did you know that?" So yeah, I'm officially on the hunt for a decent ENT.

It's unbelievable. Nine appointments. Two different ENTs. All documented in my medical records. Every single time, they just shove that scope down my throat—or maybe it's going into the ear too—and the only solution they ever offer is more antibiotics. I actually had to be the one to suggest inhalers and various treatments myself just to get something done. 😢

Thanks for the advice, Sam Hall15. 👍

Someone else mentioned getting tinnitus and muffled hearing whenever they catch a cold. That’s actually the second easiest problem to solve here. In your case, you're dealing with pharyngeal inflammation that spreads into the Eustachian tube—that little channel connecting your throat to your middle ear. When there's inflammation, the lining of that tube swells up and clogs it. Air can't reach the middle ear like it should. This creates a vacuum in the middle ear, which puts pressure on the eardrum. Since the drum can't vibrate properly, sound isn't transmitted well. That’s why your hearing is shot.

I’m dealing with this other issue... at least, I think it is...
My right ear hurts when I hear high pitches or loud noises—music, city traffic, whatever.
Plus, I have a deviated septum on the right side, so fluid builds up and probably drains into my Eustachian tube?
Up until now, I've seen a mountain of ENT specialists. None of them ever even mentioned the deviation; they just kept hitting me with antibiotics. Then, an American microbiologist doing a nasal swab finally told me I have a deviation and that it's likely the culprit. She basically told me to find a new ENT because my current one was ready for retirement...
Anyway, if I sleep on my right side, the next morning my "ear" is clogged and ringing for hours, or at least until I do a steam inhalation... the left side is fine.
Do I need surgery for this or what?
Oh, and I constantly have to blow my nose hard or swallow just to normalize the pressure in my right ear...
I mean, the Eustachian tube or whatever it's called.🙂

The steam inhalations and swallowing haven't done much for me!
Please, Sam Hall15, help me out... these doctors don't give a damn about me.
Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
Don't be naive... forget those "mild" Ambien pills and all that garbage. They just strip away your most critical sleep cycles if you use them regularly... they basically slow your brain down to a crawl.
fuck that shit
Instead, just go grab some high-quality cannabis, roll one up, put on some chill music, and you'll be sleeping like a baby...
Ditch the chemicals.👍

you stripped the mystery away from things most people just don't get

take a seat, kid! 👍>

I'm glad you brought up that hellscape known as datura. It's what those clueless kids end up swallowing when they can't get their hands on actual psychedelics and are desperate to experiment... considering that some tiny, beautiful mushrooms are treated by the law like they're child abusers... the punishment is completely out of proportion. So instead, the whole crowd ends up in the ER with brains fried by scopolamine, atropine, and all those other toxic alkaloids

man, if we could actually explain things to this sheep/goat, this country might actually be a little slice of heaven... but honestly, I think she's just a textbook case of dementia 😢>

I think some people are getting their GHB and Ketamine mixed up... GHB is the substance used in sexual assaults, not Ketamine. It seems someone noticed how a "paralyzed" victim can't fight back and suddenly thought that was an opportunity.

Ketamine hasn't been the go-to in American medicine for about 80 years, simply because we found much better anesthetics that don't carry such heavy side effects—you know, the disorientation, the nausea, the vomiting. Even cats handle Ketamine worse than humans do, so that's beside the point. People claim it’s unpopular because it "overstimulates" the brain, but honestly, a tiny little bump (or even those who take 2-4) isn't even in the same league as the dosage required to put a patient under general anesthesia for several hours.
I wouldn't exactly agree with being lost in time and space here—okay, maybe I'm a bit out of touch, but nothing major 😬—it's just a different state of consciousness. It's definitely not for everyone, and certainly not for some random one-night stand at a rave, as someone else mentioned... because it's not exactly what you'd call "inviting," if you catch my drift. 😬

And let's face it, nobody's looking to slip into a K-hole while they're out at some dive bar listening to country music. 😁

It won't happen, and it never will. This isn't a "party drug." Most people are too terrified of anything deeper than the usual buzz from booze, cocaine, or speed. But honestly? Given the sheer amount of self-proclaimed intellectuals popping up on these forums lately, who knows. Maybe we'll see a "hit" drug emerge from their pretentious little circles soon enough. 😬
wanderingmaker8 said:Unlike our local news outlets, international media isn't afraid to report positive stories about drugs. It turns out Ketamine—which hasn't really hit the mainstream in the States yet, though it will once we actually join the 21st century—can wipe out depression symptoms in just two hours. Compare that to any other medication out there that takes weeks to kick in.

Yeah, I read that too... pretty interesting piece overall... even if it’s definitely not child's play...
Heh, it's available here in the States too; you just have to use your brain a little, assuming anyone actually possesses one!
Small hint: you can find plenty of it down in East St. Louis.👍

Essentially, its mechanism puts certain parts of the brain on "hibernate" mode while somehow leaving the "good" parts functioning perfectly fine...
...miraculously.😁
Anyway, this isn't something to mess around with. If the demons start hunting you during a K-hole, you're absolutely screwed.

Almost everyone experiences that sensation of leaving their body... happened to me, too.😬

George Clark19 said:Ugh, tell me about it—I actually had some swollen lymph nodes right by my ear once. I ended up going in for those needle biopsies and everything, and honestly? They found absolutely nothing wrong with me. When I finally asked them why it even happened in the first place, they just gave me that classic "we'll never truly know" shrug.
Anyway, it eventually went down on its own and didn't really hurt much, so it wasn't a huge deal at the time.
But now you guys have me totally spooked with all this talk about tumors... I’m such a massive hypochondriac, I guess, so I'll probably be staring at the ceiling unable to sleep for the next week.

+1 😕
I've been feeling it for ages.😲

My surgeon mentioned it’s likely just a lingering effect from not having my tonsils removed when I was a kid, but honestly, I feel like it’s better to be safe than sorry. I think it's worth scheduling a quick follow-up with my doctor just to get some peace of mind.

That’s exactly what my doctor told me... but now you’ve got me spiraling over these parotid gland issues.
Knowing someone whose case wasn't benign makes all the difference.😲
