So, metaplasia is basically when one type of mature cell swaps itself out for another mature one. But what I’m actually sweating right now is nitrogen metaplasia—the whole process, the potential issues, just give me the lowdown on everything. 🤷 I tried digging through Google, but honestly, I couldn't find anything that actually made sense. I'm pretty much at my wit's end here, so you guys are really my last hope! 🙂
Hey, don't even sweat it! That’s just how some people are, end of story. Honestly, you could try reaching out to someone you actually like—just gotta find a little nerve, you know? You don't even need a "reason" to talk; just pick a topic and go for it. Once you actually bond with someone, you'll start feeling better about yourself and seeing things from a different perspective. Plus, you never really know who might end up liking you more than you think. 😉 If you're just not a big communicator, then people around you should just get that and deal with it. And if they don't? Whatever. Their opinion doesn't mean a thing. I was the exact same way back in middle school (well, except I used to totally ignore my own needs if I actually had any brains, haha), and honestly, I'm still kind of like that in college. But I finally found some folks who are on my wavelength, and I've started opening up and getting into all sorts of stuff... It was rough at first, but oh man, I'm so glad I did. As soon as you find even one friend who gets you, that sense of belonging hits you hard. If you haven't found them yet, don't worry—it WILL happen, you just won't know when. Also, just show people you care. It matters so much, and you have no idea how much happiness you can spread just by being there (I'm sure you've figured that out by now, just like everyone else). Good luck! Everything is gonna turn out fine. :kiss
Rebecca Lee6 said:Hey everyone. Reading through these threads, I notice a lot of people chest-thumping about how much of an American they are. Personally, I see it differently. There’s really no need to constantly shout about your heritage at every single turn. To me, it’s enough to just love your country and take care of your culture, traditions, and language. If you find yourself abroad, just be a great ambassador for our people... act in a way that leaves everyone with a fantastic impression of America. And honestly, one of the most important things is not to push your identity so hard that it makes others feel less valued. That’s what being a good American means to me.👍
P.S. I feel this way about other nations too!
What does being a true American woman mean to me? Honestly, nothing crazy. Being an American doesn't make you some superior being or give you superpowers or anything.😬
Being a true American means respecting our roots, staying open to talking with other nations, and loving both our own stuff and others' too... instead of forcing your views on people with racism or extremist nonsense.
...it usually happens when I'm stuck in that weird half-asleep limbo, and then—boom—I'm wide awake...
The dream I have on repeat: someone’s chasing me, so I start sprinting. They grab me by the collar, and I’m doing everything in my power to just take off—like, trying to catch air and lift off the ground—but then they snag my leg. Somehow, though, I still manage to break free.
I’ve had this exact same dream way too many times. Honestly, I have no clue what it means. Maybe I’m running away from something? It doesn't really feel like that in my actual life, but who knows.
This has happened to me more than once. I remember one night I had this dream where I was totally paralyzed—like, zero movement, nothing. I panicked so hard that I jolted awake and actually smacked my head against the dresser.
It wasn't anything serious, just a bump, but man, I was genuinely terrified of going to sleep for the next month...
I’m a contact lens person (my prescription is -5 and yeah, it’s definitely getting worse). You don't strictly *need* glasses, but honestly? I think you should probably have a pair on hand. If you lose a lens, you're basically useless—at least in my book. Personally, I wear mine all day long, though obviously not while I'm sleeping...
You really have to be careful with them, too. I have a friend who ended up with corneal damage three times because of her lenses and had to rush to the ER to get them removed. Everything was totally fine when she first started wearing them and got used to the feeling, but then...
Kate Flores4 said:So, what am I dealing with here then? When this first started happening, I actually almost went to my local priest to request an exorcism. Eventually, I just got used to it—I even experimented with it a little bit myself. I heard that these episodes happen when you're under extreme stress. I read in a book once that it’s classified as a "false awakening type 2." It hasn't happened to me in a long time though.
Yeah, probably true if you're dealing with huge amounts of stress, because that's definitely where I was at. If you mean like, having stressful dreams... for a little bit after waking up, I felt like I was losing my mind, but then later... it leads into lucid dreaming... 🙂
...it’s not like it just vanished into thin air, you know? It’s more like it just drifted off into a dream...
Maria Collins2 said:If anyone here actually knows how to trigger a lucid dream, or if you've been there yourself, I'd appreciate a few more details on the process.
Oh man, I actually had a lucid dream once!!! Honestly, I have zero clue how it happened... Basically, I was just dreaming normally at first (same night), and then out of nowhere, things started getting super intense and weird. Like, I suddenly realized, "Wait, this is a dream," and it felt like everything was spiraling. If the dream hadn't snapped me awake right then, I think I would've totally lost my mind!!!!
...I haven't finished the whole thing yet, but yeah, it's pretty obvious we have to fix ourselves before we even think about fixing anyone else. We totally miss that part all the time, though. It just leads to a massive mess because we end up stuck doing this endless, exhausting Sisyphus routine instead of actually making progress.
