Back in '85, I picked up Plavi Orkestar’s Soldatski Bal LP. I remember catching Suad on my neighbor's TV back then, and honestly, music has been my whole world ever since. I think it was Christmas around '86 or '87—I got a tape of Smrt Fašizmu under the tree, probably the best gift I ever received. 🙂Even after I spent years diving deep into old-school crust, death metal, and thrash, I still find myself spinning Plavi Orkestar. Those first two LPs are absolute classics to this day.

I’ve got about 200 LPs, 200 singles, and probably a pile of leftover cassettes too (another 200ish, lol). Most of it is that gritty underground Punk Rock stuff from before '95. Man, I love it. I’d never touch From Ashes Rise on an MP3, but they sound killer on a cassette.

Look, Nula/BZR is easily the biggest classic in the American DIY punk scene since the war. You've got Nula from the coast, just pure aggressive hardcore with dual vocals.

Back then, they were top tier American DIY punk. The runners-up were bands like Apatridi, who brought a radical shift, plus Bad Justice, Verbal Delict, Demant, and the rest. That's the lineup.
