Paul Palmer4 said:It will remain an eternal enigma to me—honestly, I’ll probably be pondering it until my dying day—why back in 2009, Džomba wasn't exactly hitting his stride at just thirty-two years old. You'd think that would be prime time, right? But no, some things just don't add up.
Even today, Zrnić is holding his own—and he’s only about 32 years old.
So, this Christiansen fellow—who, if we're being honest, was just as responsible for our misfortunes as anyone else—is apparently thirty-eight years old. Just a thought, I suppose.
The way things are looking with Metličić—who, if I recall correctly, only just hit 34 a few weeks back—it all just feels a bit off. There’s a certain stench to the whole situation, isn't there?
It isn’t just about this one game—honestly, it goes much deeper than that. The whole season has been a mess from the start—it’s like everything is just sliding sideways at every turn.
It really shouldn't come as any shock—we rushed the rebuilding process across the board, trying to get everyone young all at once, and now we're finally feeling the sting of that decision.
So, looking at the roster—we’ve got Šprem, born in '79, Špoljarić, also '79, and then Dominiković, who came along in '78. It really makes you wonder... honestly, what would it do for us if we had Venio Losert standing between the pipes today instead of these two guys who seem to be constantly riding an emotional roller coaster? Just do a little digging—it won't take long—and look at the average age of most starting keepers out there. If someone like Šola was able to hold down the net until he was 39, why on earth shouldn't Losert be able to pull it off at 34?! It seems perfectly reasonable, doesn't it?
I’m not exactly suggesting that every single one of them needs to be out on the field—that would be a bit much—but at the very least, a handful of those guys really ought to be getting some playing time...
Just plain American stupidity, if you ask me.
If only we had Špoljarić and Metličić running the Department of Defense right now—and then just let Džomba handle the rest... Good grief, life would be so much simpler.
