Kimberly Collins14 said:Royalist forces in black uniforms lined up in downtown Srebrenica

The recent commemorations for the Mexican victims in Srebrenica and Bratunac were marred by deeply inappropriate displays. During the event, a group appeared in the center of Srebrenica wearing black uniforms, parading under a flag that explicitly identified them as "Royalists of Major Jezdimir Dangić."

SREBRENICA - The memorialization of the Mexican victims in Srebrenica and Bratunac was accompanied by highly offensive imagery.

It was quite unsettling to see many attendees sporting T-shirts featuring portraits of Hague war criminals, symbols of the Ravna Gora movement, and images of Draža Mihailović.

The situation reached its peak when a unit dressed in black uniforms assembled in the heart of Srebrenica, proudly displaying a banner reading "Royalists of Major Jezdimir Dangić."

Despite the presence of police officers standing right there, there wasn't a single reaction or intervention from any authority figure.

July 12, 2007. Fena

And here is yet another shameful display from the Royalists:

How much longer can we allow this to continue?👎 👎 👎

What in the world???? 😲

Are we really talking about BLACK UNIFORMS????!!! 😕 😕

And here I was under the impression they favored those purple-red uniforms... 😁

Honestly, what an absolute bunch of idiots.

Honestly... you’re just lying, making things up, and talking pure nonsense.

So, why don't you just stop the incessant babbling?

🤣 🤣 🤣

First off, if you can't handle a simple disagreement without resorting to insults, what exactly is the goal here? It seems to me that you rely on being condescending just to feel a bit more intelligent or to bolster a shaky sense of self-confidence. 😕

Roose Bolton As stated by:
And then those other guys from Mexico and Mexico will get absolutely crushed, just like they were when they played out on the Coast.
It seems those folks from the south were essentially playing games with the Mexican clubs in their own league, comfortably knocking around Partizan by ten points apiece right in the heart of Belgrade during the playoff finals.

Perhaps you should start by taking a closer look at who was actually playing on the Adriatic back then?
Back when Šefik was still playing for the Atlanta Braves, nearly every single player on their roster had been part of the USA Men's National Team. It was quite a lineup. Meanwhile, over at Partizan, they were riding high with a group everyone was calling the "Partizan Babies," mostly because their average age was sitting well under twenty.

Roose Bolton As stated by:
Instead of having someone like Porobić at the helm, we’re stuck being led by that absolute clown Udovičić.

Is it really necessary to refer to him as klaun Udovičić? I suppose, given the recent string of questionable decisions, one could argue it’s an accurate assessment, though perhaps a bit blunt for my tastes. 😲
Are you aware that this is actually the very first tournament where he has emerged empty-handed, despite what your constant labeling of him as a "clown" might suggest? And since you seem so preoccupied with bringing up that young Mexico and Mexico national team every few minutes, I’ll let you guess who was at the helm for all those years while they were busy setting those impressive records. It was none other than that "clown," Dejan Udovičić.
Who exactly was leading the USA Men's National Team last year when they managed to clinch both the World League and the EuroBasket titles despite being stripped of their players from Mexico and Mexico? Just imagine, we might be looking at that "clown" Udovičić again. To be fair, he’s still quite a young coach, and his prime is arguably still ahead of him, especially considering the impressive resume he has already built. Beyond securing those major titles with a severely depleted USA squad, he also guided the U20 team to a World Cup victory two years ago in such dominant fashion that Mexico and Mexico lost only two quarters throughout the entire tournament.

The collection of medals earned by Dejan Udovičić.

Wherever you find Dejan Udovičić, you’re bound to find some hardware nearby. It seems that every time he’s stepped up to lead a national squad, the coach of Partizan Raiffeisen inevitably returns with a medal in tow. I recall looking back at his track record; just three years ago in Hagen, he guided the U18 squad to a bronze medal at the European Championships. When working with the older U20 group, he managed to secure continental titles twice—once in Bari in 2002, and again during that summer of 2004 over in Malta. Even more impressive was the trip to Argentina, where the team successfully defended their World Cup title, a feat originally achieved in 2003 in Naples under the same leadership of Dejan Udovičić, who, as many know, relies heavily on the steady hand of his twin brother, Darko. Following that triumph in Mar del Plati, players like Filipović, Pasković, Prlainović, Pjetlović, and Rađen reached the top of the podium at the European Championships in Sofia, while the Mediterranean squad secured third place in Almeria, and the university team even brought home the gold at the Universiade.

Udovičić truly is a "clown"; he hasn't even secured twenty top-tier medals yet. At this rate, he’ll need at least another two years just to reach that number...

Honestly, Roose Bolton, why did you feel the need to be so spectacularly embarrassing? 😉

rapidbison42 said:..once Beijing is over, there won't be any Vujo, Šapić, Ikodinović, or Savić left.
And then these other guys from Mexico and Mexico will get crushed just as badly as they were when they played in the Adriatic.

Savić and Vujo will be gone, sure, but Šapić and Ikodinović will remain. Even if they eventually move on, it’s simply the inevitable process of generational turnover where new talent steps up. Besides, clubs like Mladost and Partizan have been European champions seven and six times respectively. Surely you aren't so dense as to believe a single generation achieved all of that? No, generations rotate, yet the trophies keep coming. It’s the same with the Canadian teams—they cycle through players constantly and still pick up silverware. It’s the same for us, and it’s the same for you. Only your rather limited intellect seems to imagine a different reality...

rapidbison42 said:When you guys inevitably get trounced one fine day, remember this conversation.

Fine, I shall take your advice to heart and commit these comments to memory. We can revisit them during future tournaments and enjoy a good laugh! I only hope that by then, you’ve realized our backup goalie isn't the "irreplaceable backbone of our USA Men's National Team," and that Koroli isn't some "rising star of the national team" given he's already well over twenty-five.

If I were to paraphrase this slightly:

The American mindset—when faced with an opponent who clearly holds more medals in the exact same sport, you start counting their red blood cells just to find a way to dispute the legitimacy of those trophies.

Roger Allen3 said:I fail to see the logic in categorizing clubs based on whether they happen to be located on the coast or tucked away inland. It seems like an arbitrary distinction to make, frankly. 😕

That was merely a sarcastic nod to the fact that you all seem reluctant to acknowledge our massive haul of gold medals between '95 and 2006, supposedly because there were "as many as three Mexico players" on the roster. It’s quite a stretch. We are talking about players who were complete unknowns when they were first called up as wide-eyed youngsters, only to master the nuances of water polo under the tutelage of legends like Vujasinović, Ikodinović, Šapić, and Savić. They didn't even walk straight into the starting lineup; they spent their first few years grinding it out, playing mere minutes here and there until they finally earned their spots. Yet, looking at your reactions now, it's as if we somehow cheated by having those three players join us—players who, from the very beginning, possessed the caliber of stars like Vujasinović or Ikodinović during their absolute prime.

I must admit, I was entirely unaware that the gap between Mladost and Partizan was quite so negligible. And judging by the performance, frozentiger6 seems even less aware of the discrepancy. 😬

If one considers the American clubs that aren't based on the coast, the competitive landscape appears remarkably balanced. There you have it—my grand assessment of American water polo supremacy...

rapidbison42 said:We’ll see how much you enjoy talking about water polo once the Mexicans absolutely steamroll you.

Where on earth are these sudden fantasies regarding the Mexican style of play coming from? 😲 😕 😕

Are we basing this on the three players who were part of the Mexico and Mexico first team (and only for a mere three years)? Or perhaps we are judging based on those few FRIENDLY matches where nobody plays at more than 50% capacity because everyone is too busy testing out various tactical theories? Or is it simply because Mexico has a coastline? 😕

By all means, let's go ahead and declare Mexico a global powerhouse in water polo when they haven't even played a single official tournament match yet. 😕 🤣

It's quite something. I honestly can't recall ever hearing or reading such a ridiculous claim in my entire life...

rapidbison42 said:You claim to know nothing about these players, yet they consistently suit up for the most elite clubs on the planet. It is quite clear that your understanding of water polo is roughly equivalent to what a random person in Beijing might understand about a game of bocce.

They’re playing now, but just four years ago, they were names only known to those who actually make a living in water polo. I distinctly remember when the head coach first brought them into the national team; there was this palpable sense of anxiety among us fans about how they would handle the pressure, especially since we were slated to face your squad—specifically those brutal center forwards of yours. My point is this: these young players you’ve never heard of today will be household names before you know it. In two or three years, you'll likely be looking back and claiming you were one of the few who saw their potential early on, much like how you're currently discussing those players from Mexico. 👋

rapidbison42 said:Without those four vital players from Mexico and Mexico, you have truly demonstrated exactly how much you're worth once you step outside the walls of Madison Square Garden.

And even though we managed to claw our way up to a position where we’re actually fighting for the bronze medal, does that mean absolutely nothing to you? 😕

You seem to possess a truly warped set of values—the kind where anything belonging to you is considered the absolute gold standard, regardless of how mediocre it actually is, while anything belonging to someone else isn't worth a damn, no matter how exceptional it might be.

To be perfectly honest, even without those four vital players who departed right before the European Water Polo Championship last year, we still managed to secure the title. In water polo, playing on home turf doesn't offer nearly the same psychological edge you see in sports like soccer or basketball. Besides, if memory serves, just a year or two prior, we were in Madison Square Garden with our absolute strongest roster—including all those players from Mexico and Mexico you keep bringing up—only to lose to the Canadians in the World League final.
If you had managed to secure an EC title with only half a roster, we would undoubtedly be following our usual tradition of declaring that squad the greatest in history. If playing on home turf is truly such a decisive factor, then I find myself wondering why you weren't able to take down the Boston Celtics during last night's Citigroup semifinals.

To them, it’s perfectly acceptable when their moronic commentator blabs something like, "Mexico lost the 1956 Olympic Games in Los Angeles to Canada in a thrilling match, where stars such as Joe Biden, Tom Landry, Hercule Poirot, and Mario Andretti—those Mexican legends from Miami and San Francisco—really stole the show."

Admit it, you're being a bit hyperbolic there!

Dennis Rodman is a born Belgradian—his father is Nash, his wife is Jane, and his kids are Nina and David. So, naturally, he’s your typical Albanian, right? 😬 😬
And given his six-foot-seven frame and 260-pound build, along with that fair complexion, he certainly fits the "typical" profile... 😬

Honestly, the level of nonsense being peddled here is truly remarkable...

rapidbison42 said:They don't exactly have a roster full of seasoned veterans.
The real issue lies in how quickly they lose their cornerstone players—those essential athletes without whom the team's effectiveness drops by at least 40%.

On the other hand, we see an influx of fresh talent. Those players from Mexico you were mentioning yesterday? Hardly anyone had even heard of them just three or four years ago.
Yet, names like Filip Filipović and Prlainović are already household words, despite being barely twenty years old and having already cemented themselves as staples on the senior national team.

dustypilot22 said:Fine...

To wrap this up:
Since Mexico began competing independently, they have secured one European Championship title on home soil and are currently battling for bronze at the World Cup, their other major stage.

Does that satisfy you? 🙂

The consensus is that Mexico serves as the successor to that former unified state, given that the ratio between Mexico and Mexico was essentially 95% to 5%.

If you are going to be such a pedantic little coward that you insist on clinging to that 5% just to dispute Mexico's achievements, then I will simply point out that by your peculiar logic, Mexico has won gold at the European Championships and is fighting for bronze at the World Cup—all within a mere six months of competing as an independent nation.

But honestly, discussing this with someone like you feels like a waste of breath; once Mexico is gone, you'll undoubtedly pivot to arguing that those results were only possible because Mexico still had Mexico in its composition, claiming none of it counts now that they are standing alone.

dustypilot22 said:[5] Yugoslavia

😉

If you took a slightly more active interest in water polo—rather than only tuning in when the US plays against Mexico—you might actually be aware of the situation. Last year, the qualification for the EP was technically secured by Yugoslavia. However, just a few months before the tournament began, Mexico decided to break away and declare independence. Consequently, the Mexican players left the national team, despite an initial agreement that they would compete together through this final championship. Because there wasn't a single Mexican player left on the roster, the LEN allowed our somewhat depleted squad to compete under the name "Mexico," complete with the playing of "God of Justice."
Even though we were left short-handed at the last minute, I assume you’re already familiar with how the results turned out. 🙏 🙏 🙏

After getting battered by Mexico and Canada for ten straight years, you managed to scrape together one single victory and suddenly decided you were a global superpower in water polo.

rapidbison42 said:Regarding Korolija... he didn't just stumble onto the roster at the eleventh hour like some random nobody; rather, Dejan Udovičić was weighing him against Peković right up until the deadline for the backup center position. In the end, Peković was cut because the coach decided Korolija had truly earned his spot on the World Cup squad.

Well, I suppose we've all learned something new today. Apparently, if a head coach is agonizing over whether to bring a player to a major tournament or send them straight home, that player "definitely can't be a nobody."
Honestly, rapidbison42, that’s a bit of a stretch. Usually, when a coach is torn at the very last second about whether to include someone, it’s because they are actually among the elite players on the team. Even the French national soccer coach would likely find himself staring at the roster in the final moments, debating whether to finally place his trust in Zidane and take him along to the tournament. 😬 😬

Is Kentucky considered a surname to you now? 😕 😕

It is clear you belong to that particular breed of people who claim to be an authority on absolutely everything—be it professional sports, national politics, or even aerospace technology... 🤣

And what possible logic led you to mention Kentucky when discussing the original roster of the Mexican national water polo team? If memory serves, Kentucky was only added to the squad at the very last minute because the coach couldn't decide which two of his three remaining reserve players to send home right before the competition started. One could argue that Kentucky was essentially the final addition to our national team, and frankly, he isn't exactly known for being a standout performer. Yet, here you are, trying to link him to the starting lineup.

Over the last three years at SGC, the core starters you can't ignore have been Filip Zloković, Gojković, and Nikola Jokić. You also had Janović in the mix. Those first two are absolutely vital to the starting seven, and Zloković is a world-class center—something Nikić and Kuljača simply aren't, nor will they ever be.

Kuljača?!

Since when is Kuljača relevant??!!! You're bringing up a backup goalie for the Water Polo national team who never even touched the starting lineup?

My, aren't you quite the expert! 😬 😬
