I had my radiation over at Jordanovac and man, the crowds there are unreal. You wouldn't believe it, but from 8 AM until 7 PM every single day of the week, it’s just packed with people waiting for radiation... Even getting an appointment for planning takes forever. I totally get that when you're dealing with this stuff, four weeks feels like an absolute eternity, but there's just no way to change it...

It's Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Chemo starts this Friday. If anyone has tips on how to make the actual treatments easier or what helps with the recovery afterward, please let me know...
Right now, I've got him on raw propolis, aronia berry juice, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a beet-carrot-apple blend...
If you need any advice or just want to chat, reach out. I actually went through Hodgkin's myself. If I remember correctly, I even had tumors in the exact same spot as your son... they were so massive that surgery wasn't even an option at the time.
I really hope they can hang in there through this last round of radiation, especially after everything they've already powered through in Chicago. I went through my own radiation treatments at the Jordanovac location, even though I'm not from the area at all. I managed to figure out a place to stay and got it all done...
If you're getting nowhere, just go find a second opinion... there really should be more indicators for cancer than just fluid in the lungs alone.

Now I'm facing another battle because a family member is going through it. The oncologist confirmed a tumor, but then the PET scan shows nothing?
I'm wondering if anyone can weigh in here... has anyone else dealt with this? Is it actually possible for a 3D PET scan to miss a tumor if it's really there? Thanks...
I mean, if it doesn't show up on a PET scan, what *can* see it?? It just seems so weird that a PET scan would miss it, like...
Karen Ruiz65 said:Can someone please chime in if you've actually gone through ordering a PET scan?
Are there any other places besides the Medikol over in downtown besides the one on Vinogradska, and how long is the wait for an appointment? Thanks!
You can get a PET scan at Rebro Hospital. But listen, your oncologist—the specialist handling your case—has to be the one to order it first. Once you finally land an appointment date, then you go back to your primary care doctor to grab the official referral so you can actually head in for the scan. I’ve done this twice myself... the first time I got a slot in about 20 days, but the second time I was waiting a whole month. Honestly, I think it just depends on how many people are ahead of you in line. Usually takes about ten business days to get the results back...

has anyone here or anyone you know gone through immunotherapy with Keytruda?
I'd love to hear about your experiences...
My dad was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer, and he just finished his first round.
The only thing is, his face is swelling up—his arms and legs seem fine, but his face... this started about 5 days before that first treatment. Does anyone know what might be causing swelling like that?
It could be some of the other meds he's taking. I mean, I dealt with my whole head swelling up from the corticosteroids I had to take between chemo sessions...
Thanks
Eric Newman75 said:If you aren't already, quit smoking—and do it at least a month before radiation starts. Smoking and radiation just don't mix. Boost your immune system. Eat as much fruit and veggies as possible, ideally raw, and grab some B-complex, magnesium, and calcium supplements... you know, for bone health. Get out there, walk, get some fresh air, exercise. Prep your body, prep your mind. You’re gonna feel weak, you might deal with nausea, dizziness, or a burning sensation. Think about transportation ahead of time; you can actually reach out to the Not Alone association, they drive the guys too. 😁
As for the therapy itself, it's fast and painless. Before that, you'll go in for "mapping," where the techs mark your path with colors on your skin. They'll get you positioned perfectly and comfortably, and you'll just replicate that exact spot when you show up for the first treatment. If those marks rub off in the meantime—whether from showering or just friction—they'll redo them; it has to be incredibly precise. Radiation can be targeted at a specific spot, like a lymph node, or local, covering an entire area like the neck. Since you were assigned 15 sessions, I'm guessing it's adjuvant radiation after surgery. If you've been through the ENT department at KZT, I know what you've dealt with, so everything after this should feel like a breeze... 🙂
Thanks so much for the reply. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's, so I didn't have surgery, just chemo. I finished six cycles, and that was three months ago. I had two tumors measuring 15x6x6 cm, and through chemo, they shrank down to 3 and 6.5 cm. Now, they're going to finish the job with radiation.
I've never smoked, and my blood work looks great right now. Right after my last chemo session, I started taking Biobran, then moved on to Ultra ABC Plus vitamins and B-complex, which I'm still taking. And yeah, I eat plenty of fruit. For almost two months now, I've been walking about four kilometers every single day, and since I live out in rural America, I've got all the fresh air I need...
I went for the mapping three weeks ago, so the marks are still there. They also made a mold of the part of my body getting treated, kind of like a custom mask or shield. I'll be doing the radiation over at the local clinic, and Dr. Galunic Bilic is guiding me.
All in all, what you wrote about the radiation doesn't sound too daunting at first glance, and it definitely seems easier than chemo. But whatever happens, I'll push through this final stretch.
Can you tell me a bit more about the transport and that association?
Eric Newman75 said:Which part of the body are we talking about right in the middle? A linear accelerator isn't going to radiate you in a way that affects everyone else around you, but there are some devices they actually insert surgically into the body, and those ones *are* radioactive.
The radiation targets the left side of my neck and the start of my chest on the left (my left side)... but according to the PET CT scan—to put it technically—it's the anterior mediastinum and further down on the right...
Hey everyone following this thread. I'm heading in for radiation soon—looks like I'll be doing 15 sessions... if anyone can share what their experience was like, or maybe someone close to you who went through it, I'd really appreciate it. Mostly just curious about the side effects, how the staff treats you during the process, and just the whole vibe of the procedure itself

The fire at Notre Dame is obviously a massive tragedy. Within the first 24 hours, they already confirmed half a billion in donations for the rebuild. Europe needs to step up and shell out whatever it takes so they can fix it right and fast.
Look, there's a huge difference between keeping a gun in your car for protection and actually stepping up to save someone's life like you're talking about here...

So, I just saw that I got flagged too for supposedly "trolling" yesterday. Looks like the mod was just picking favorites and handing out warnings left and right. Makes zero sense...

What does Kimi even have to do with this race?? It makes zero sense. They pit him 8 laps before Hamilton, even though they're both on the same strategy and he’s supposed to go 30 laps on one set to fight for the win? Just total nonsense...

Anyone still running Windows 7?

So, I’ve run into this headache, and I’m hoping someone here knows how to fix it. I just finished installing Windows 7, but now I can't delete or even rename any files I create. It keeps throwing an "access denied" error at me constantly. I can read them and open them just fine, but that's it. I tried going through right-click > properties > security to tweak the settings, but even that wouldn't let me change anything... If anyone could help me out, it would seriously mean a lot. I tried following the steps in this link, but half of those things won't even let me execute the commands
