Look, I’m all for respecting everyone's opinion, but seriously... can someone please walk me through what actually makes Art such a legendary villain? Why is everyone putting him on a pedestal like he's some kind of god?
I mean, an immortal killer in a weird costume is about as original as it gets these days...

The plot could have easily flowed just fine without all of them... honestly, the movie could have moved forward with just Laurie Strode.
The writer made them so poorly written that even the characters from Terrifier 2 look like masterpieces by comparison... I mean, anyone who watched the movie recently—and I'm talking about HE—probably can't even remember any names besides Laurie Strode...

p.s. — horror fans, especially slasher junkies, are definitely going to remember Victoria Heyes and her sister Tara from "Terrifier," or Sienna from the sequel... To me, it feels like people will remember those Terrifier characters way more than they'll ever remember some replacements for Frank Hawkins or Corey Cunningham...

LOOK, I ALREADY SAID I HAVEN'T SEEN TERRIFIER 2, SO LET'S NOT EVEN GO THERE.
Aside from Laurie, everyone knows Michael Myers, Tommy Doyle, and Dr. Loomis... and frankly, I’m much more likely to remember Hawkins than these random, unimportant characters from Terrifier.
AND PLEASE, START REALIZING THAT THE TERRIFIER FRANCHISE IS ON A FAST TRACK TO BECOMING THE NEXT FRIDAY THE 13TH... JUST A STRING OF TRASH SEQUELS UNTIL THE WHOLE SERIES FEELS COMPLETELY WASTED.

The thing is, this movie doesn't try to sell you on some grand, sweeping plot (which is why people looking for a slasher with actual substance and characters go for stuff like "My Bloody Valentine," "Scream," "The Intruder," or "Noes"... they don't pick "Terrifier")... plus, this is such a specific kind of slasher because it leans so heavily into the pure splatter elements...

People just love gore because they’re fascinated by that level of creativity (take a slasher kill, for instance... like when Michael Myers grabs a shotgun in "Halloween 4" and you think, "No way he's actually gonna shoot," and then he uses it to nail Kelly to a wall... and you're just sitting there thinking, damn, how strong is Myers to pull that off?)... and they're marvelling at how the special effects maestro managed to pull it all off so convincingly...
There is nothing more frustrating than when a movie *needs* a gore scene to land, but instead, it either skips it entirely or plays it too safe just to keep a PG-13 rating...

That slicing scene was genuinely stomach-turning (the effects were a little weaker there since you can tell it's a silicone prop), and I found myself holding my breath, wondering... please don't let this happen... and then once it started... man, Art is truly Art the Devil, and that scene with the excrement just really drives home how absolutely revolting Art is as a character.

You can't even compare this to "Halloween Ends." Even though the plot is simple, it’s miles ahead of that "Halloween" philosophical nonsense that ultimately leads nowhere. Plain and simple: "Terrifier 2" is a better, higher-quality movie than "Halloween Ends" in every single category... even when you look at the protagonists...

I haven't seen the second one yet, but from what I know, "Halloween Ends" is better in every way compared to the first Terrifier.
Characters actually matter to the story. You have a lead actress playing a role people actually recognize after 44 years, whereas probably nobody even knows the last names of anyone in "Terrifier," and honestly, they probably never will...
Maybe the plot went in a weird direction, but hey, at least the plot isn't as hollow as your typical slasher.
And when I talk about gore, I don't mean someone getting shot into a wall with a gun; I'm talking about that unnecessary, excessive bloodletting.
I'll admit, that scene in "Halloween Ends" where they drag the tongue across the floor was disgusting, but at least Michael isn't writing "The Shape" on a wall with crap.
The first Terrifier was total garbage
Look, the plot isn't anything special; it’s just your run-of-the-mill slasher. Some slashers actually bother to throw in decent plot twists or characters you actually care about, but this wasn't one of them.
And honestly, I don't get the obsession with gore...
Do you people seriously enjoy watching some half-naked woman get sliced in half, or seeing a killer write his name in literal filth? It’s just gross.
And please, for the love of God, don't even try comparing this movie to something like Halloween Ends.

Am I really the only one who just realized today who the author of The Black Phone actually is? Like, whose kid is this guy?

I haven't actually sat down to watch the movie yet, but I can already tell you're one of those people who doesn't think the film itself is anything particularly special, yet somehow you live and breathe every single meme that comes out of it.
