Great casting, terrible movie in Movies ·
Carol Jackson45 said:How does that even happen to them?

How do I think it happens? Well, actors are basically just commodities on the market; they take whatever roles are put in front of them. Sometimes they get a say in what they pick, sometimes they don't. At the end of the day, they have bills to pay too.

Carol Jackson45 said:Let's try to remember some other bad movies where otherwise great actors show up...

Since an actor is really just one part of the filmmaking process—not the main creator (you could almost call them a puppet)—and there are millions of people involved, you can't really create these "cruel movie vs. victimized actor" narratives.🙄 .

For instance, one of the most desperate examples of bad casting was Batman Begins—it was awful! (Not just because Katie Holmes was totally miscast), but the whole ensemble felt overcrowded and overacted, completely out of sync with the setting. But that’s just Christopher Nolan 🙄 All he seems to know how to do in a movie is check his Rolex.... which is probably why he decided to call his next film "The Prestige" 🙂 .... once again 🙂 That's why, when he's placed in a more creative format (like Batman Begins), you can see he hasn't got a clue.🙂

As for those actors, maybe individually they are fantastic and possess plenty of talent, but in certain other films, because of the context they're placed in—overcrowded and overblown—they just end up being terrible.

There isn't practically a single actor out there (whether you liked them or not) whose entire filmography perfectly matches your taste, whether you find them good or bad, or if they're just so objectively bad that you don't even know what to say about them.

Take Reese Witherspoon, for example; I really love her 😍 She's great! But in something like "Best Laid Plans," I couldn't watch it (and that movie was just a dud), and "Fear" was a disaster—everyone was miscast and nobody fit in.🙄 I still have "Overnight Delivery" and "The Man in the Moon" left, so I'll see how she fares there.😁

Yeah.

Forgiveness 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 🙏

~ Forgiveness ~

Forgiveness
Is more than just saying sorry (sorry sorry sorry)

Forgiveness
Means accepting people's flaws (flaws flaws flaws)

To forgive is divine
So let's grab a glass of wine
And have make-up sex
Until the end of time (time time time time time time time)

Forgiveness
Doesn't mean compromising

Let's just forgive and forget
And settle this national debt
Just like the Cheshire Cat
Who says
RAWR
You're running out of time
(time time time time time time time time)

Forgiveness (x7)

Must-see

Amy Smart and Anna Faris! Can't Resist!

The movie actually hit theaters here in the States late last year (back on November 23, 2005), but it’s finally making its way to Europe this winter!

It looks ridiculous; the trailer alone isn't even worth watching. It reminds me most of that Russian movie Night Watch (which honestly looked like straight TV production—how they managed to market it as a Cinema spectacle, I have no clue 😕 🙄).

I wasn't interested in this at all, but man, this is even worse than I imagined 👎

I was going to mention Dragonheart, but actually, never mind 😬
Ghost Rider in Movies ·
Another superhero flick hits the scene.

It honestly feels like a mashup of Spawn and The Crow.

Nicolas Cage is taking the lead on this one.

It could end up being a total disaster, but then again, it might actually be decent.

It’s set to start hitting theaters here in the US on February 16th, 2007.

Ice Age: The Meltdown in Movies ·
So, I finally borrowed it on DVD (just so I could watch the original version in its native language).

That's about it.

It’s honestly pretty bad. Even though the animation feels much more grand, this sequel is way worse than the first one—like, WAY worse. It feels aimless, hollow, and just way too childish.👎 👎 👎 👎 👎

And since when did "Ice Age" turn into "Spring Age"?
The Grudge (2004) in Movies ·
Well, here it is—two years after its US premiere, finally hitting DVD! (And technically, it hit theaters just a bit earlier). To celebrate the release, they played a trailer for "The Grudge 2" (coming to theaters on December 7th, 2006) right before the movie started, just in case you were planning on seeing that one too. (NOT!).

The American version is actually easier to sit through, and maybe even a little creepier than the original, but you still lose interest pretty quickly. It feels a lot shorter than the first one did.

It looks like Sarah Michelle Gellar really tried her best to break out of that Buffy mold and play someone different for once...

But honestly, the American cast feels a bit out of place in this kind of setup.

The whole thing is just mediocre and almost laughable.

Especially after watching Scary Movie 4 (that pee scene...), which basically changes your life forever...

It’s pretty funny how the parody of this movie actually hit theaters before the actual film it was making fun of...
The Final Destination Trilogy in Movies ·
This one isn't really hitting the mark 👎 It’s jaaaaaaako far from Final Destination 👎

It just came out on DVD, but I honestly couldn't care less (plus, it feels like it arrived way too late anyway).

One thing though—on the DVD release, there's an alternative cut where you can pick different scenes at certain points, and honestly, that version is better than the original theatrical cut. Hmm.

Absolutely incredible movie. Visually stunning. Stylistically, it’s practically a masterpiece.

This movie is absolutely sensational.

Honestly, it’s one of the best films ever made.

Period.

The direction is spectacular, the concept is brilliant, and the acting is just top-tier.

Skeleton Key in Movies ·
bad bad bad Movie. There isn't even some big, crazy twist at the end; it’s more about trying to find continuity and an actual reason why everything was happening in the first place... I honestly had to skip through parts of the film because it was just that bad.
Carnival (2003-2005) in TV Series ·
The reruns for Carnival are finally kicking off.

It’s the first season (and likely the second one too).

Starting September 5th, 2006, on PBS, at 12:55 AM, Monday through Sunday.
Monster in Movies ·
Just a pretty mediocre TV movie vibe. I don't think Charlize Theron deserved the Oscar for this one, though the makeup and special effects were definitely top-tier 😁
