That’s fair enough.
Aside from "Batman Begins," which I personally think is fantastic. But hey, that's just my two cents.
Sometimes actors have to sign multi-picture deals upfront with a specific studio. For instance, they might commit to five movies over a five-year span. But if the scripts turn out to be total garbage, they’ll just pass on them while waiting for something actually decent to land on their desk. By the end of the contract, though, they usually feel pressured to take whatever is being offered just to keep the producers happy and ensure they don't lose out on the paycheck, the fame, or future work opportunities.
😈
Nicolas Cage is honestly such a massive superhero nerd that it’s actually kind of wild. According to NPR, he wanted to play Superman since he was just a kid. He’s obsessed—he even read every single comic book out there, and he used to call his own son KAL_El (which is Superman's real name). There were even recent rumors floating around that Cage might play Silver Surfer, one of his absolute favorite comic characters, but that didn't pan out. Instead, they're using some high-powered computer animation to bring Silver Surfer to life for the upcoming Fantastic 4th on.
It feels like after Nicolas Cage posts about Ghost Rider, he'll eventually just announce he's done with acting altogether. Word is he's moved down to the Bahamas to help out young filmmakers build up their portfolios.
Honestly, this movie is absolutely fantastic.
