Keloid scars? in Health ·
The biggest headache is usually keloid growth—they can get a bit bigger over time—but you can always have them surgically removed. Just keep in mind, surgery isn't a total guarantee that the scar won't pop back up. Though, honestly, I’ll say it again: it’s really nothing to lose sleep over—it just ends up being a slightly larger, raised scar that sits above the skin level.

analogsailor98 said:My son was just diagnosed with a keloid. His surgeon was really kind about it—explained that at his age (he’s 10), we shouldn't even touch it—but I can't help feeling a bit uneasy. It's funny how fear always makes things look way bigger than they actually are, right? Does anyone know much about this scar tissue buildup and how serious it can actually get?😢

Think of a keloid as just any scar tissue that grows a bit past the edge of the original wound—it’s basically just an overgrowth, nothing to actually worry about.
I'm thinking about grabbing those Blue ones from the series meant for making dark eyes pop—not the elegance set with the ring, but the colors line.
I just wonder how they actually look in person when you have darker eyes.
I paid about $20 for them when I was in Italy, but here in Chicago, they go for anywhere from $30 to $35. That’s my usual monthly rate—I always buy them in those amounts. So, basically, they're about $10 more expensive here than they were in Italy, even though it's the exact same brand and lenses.

That approach works for me since my attacks aren't super frequent. Honestly, relying on painkillers all the time feels wrong—they can be pretty toxic and you definitely don't want to end up hooked. Has anyone here tried daily herbal supplements to see if they help thin out the frequency over time? A friend of mine was taking some plant-based tablets and said she saw a real difference after about a month—her attacks became much less often, and even when they did hit, they weren't nearly as intense. There was this one supplement sold over in the States—I think it was called "Dolorex"—that she used. Believe it or not, it actually contained ingredients derived from silkworms🙂. I know it's an import, but I'm not entirely sure where it's manufactured or how much clinical testing it's actually undergone.
I definitely didn't follow you at first🙂 ,but I get what you mean now. It’s just like how back in the day, that specific shade of eye color was a deep, true blue—this new version just doesn't hit the same. People kept telling me they stopped making the old Sapphire Blue entirely; they aren't even in the catalogs anymore (I've been to several eye doctors and checked through the Freshlook lines, but nothing). It seems like they might still exist somewhere, maybe they're just phasing them out so they don't print them anymore, even if there's still stock lying around. In that group for total dark-eye transformations, there's only a basic "Blue" listed—I have no idea how that actually looks, though maybe it's actually Sapphire. Honestly, I feel a bit ripped off because I was sold something that wasn't what I asked for, even though I double-checked at every shop and everyone just shrugged and said, "Oh, it's basically the same thing."😕
Next time, I'm going to look much closer and demand the original ones.
By the way, do you know any other colored contact lens brands? Maybe someone else has a better variety of shades.
Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
Believe me, I’ve been through this enough times to know exactly how much it sucks—there’s nothing worse than dragging yourself through the day feeling totally wiped because you rolled out of bed at 5 or 6 AM after barely getting any sleep. I used to swear by these herbal tinctures—you can find them in just about any health food store in the States—that blend things like hops, valerian, lemon balm, and St. John's Wort. I followed the directions pretty strictly, taking them not just at bedtime but three times throughout the day too, since consistency is key. Natural stuff doesn't hit you quite as fast as a heavy pharmaceutical, but on the plus side, it’s way gentler on your system.
Hang in there, and I really hope you get some rest soon!

Just a quick thought—try to wear yourself out a bit during the day by staying active, but maybe wrap up the physical stuff at least five hours before you hit the hay. Right before bed, sipping on some chamomile tea or even just a warm glass of milk—both with a little honey mixed in—can really help you unwind. It’s a classic combo that actually works to help you get a better night's sleep.

It’s possible—actually, probably—that you're just dealing with a stressful stretch right now. Even if you don't realize it, there might be some underlying tension, anticipation, or just general negative vibes hanging around. It could even be a little sign of mild depression or anxiety. My suggestion? Give some herbal remedies for insomnia a shot. They aren't harmful, they won't get you hooked, and there aren't really any contraindications to worry about. Look for something containing valerian, lemon balm, or St. John's Wort. You could also try taking a B-complex vitamin before bed to help relax and settle your nerves. Just keep in mind that with herbal stuff, you have to take it consistently over a bit of time to actually feel the effects. For instance, you could look for Persen or those "Erbe della notte" capsules... maybe check with a local health food store or a natural pharmacy.
Best,

I used to end up in the ER all the time because of my migraines—they’d hit me with a cocktail of three different injections (pretty sure one was Trodon, which is a super strong painkiller), and even then, it barely touched the pain.
I finally took some advice to heart, and ever since I started doing things this way, the attacks are actually pretty rare.😛I still deal with migraines with aura, though—it’s more about that initial dull ache and pulsing sensation before the full-blown attack hits, along with all the usual aura symptoms. I’ll just take two Advil (you know, that standard over-the-counter stuff you can grab anywhere in the US) and the attack never even starts—all the symptoms just slowly fade away. But, if I'm too slow and don't get those Advil in my system right away, I get hit with an attack so intense that absolutely nothing helps—I'm stuck just lying motionless in a dark room, waiting for it to pass...🙄
Plus, older lens designs—honestly, any better lenses—need to have that clear ring. It’s because light hits the eye through the pupil, and without that transparent part to let the light pass through properly, you just wouldn't get a clear image.
Exactly—so now I have the true Sapphire ones (just picked them up last Friday), but they were in that Radiance or Elegance group, I think—meant for more natural looks—and they have this black ring around the colored part. They used to be "Sapphire Blue" and were part of the Colors line for making dark eyes pop. Trust me, I still keep some of the old ones in my contact lens case—who knows how long it's been—and the difference is night and day when I compare an old one to a new one in my eye. The old ones just had so much more depth. I'm not sure what kind of "Blue" they have in that radical change group for dark eyes, though. Does anyone know if other brands make colored lenses too?
I’ve been using Freshlook colored contacts every now and then—they’ve always been my go-to—but lately, I’m just not feeling the shades they have available. They actually pulled my absolute favorite, "Sapphire Blue," and moved it into that category meant for subtle shifts in dark eyes... so it’s just not the same anymore. The color intensity is way too weak compared to the old "Sapphire" shade that used to be part of the full color-change line for dark eyes.
Does anyone else use a different brand and actually like them? Just for context, I have dark brown eyes, but I'm looking for a really striking, piercing blue—nothing has to be super light, just bold.
Right now, around here in Chicago, I can only really track down the Freshlook ones.
Thanks so much in advance for any tips!
A friend of mine just headed over to China for spinal cord surgery. She actually survived a really nasty car accident a few years back—left her paralyzed from the waist down. They promised her things would improve significantly, but even after all this time, she’s mostly just feeling some faint sensations in her legs when they stimulate the area... nothing like the actual progress she was hoping for.
Just a heads-up, everyone—be careful when you're planning trips to China. It's a whole different world over there, and things aren't always as organized as we're used to here in the States.
Abortion discussion in Women's Health ·
An abortion doesn't actually leave scars... the cervix just dilates—that dilation phase—and then the uterine contents and that initial lining are cleared out. Honestly, that shedding of the uterine lining is basically what happens every single month during a period anyway. Since nothing is being done to the outside of the cervix, there's no way to see scarring there, and because the inside of the uterus is constantly regenerating a fresh layer of lining, you won't find any scars there either since they just don't exist.
What's up with these weird-looking pills? in Health ·
Rachel Brooks63 said:Loose pills with no packaging or labels—just toss them straight in the trash immediately, no second guessing.

It could be anything at all, but having unlabeled pills lying around is just asking for trouble... seriously dangerous.

I'm right there with you on that one...
