Khm... I learned to swim without floaties at three. I've spent ten times more time in the water than your average Midwesterner, and I spent six months of every year at the coast until I was six.
My top 3 theater releases from the last couple of months:
1 Good Night and Good Luck 2 Match Point
Top 3 movies I watched at home during that same period:
1 American Splendor 2 Lord of War 3 Secretary
I really need to squeeze in Walk The Line, Capote, Gay Cowboys, and Munich ASAP. My hard drive is already packed with Hitler, Head On, and Whale Rider... damn, there just isn't enough time.
So, I went for a walk around the neighborhood and hiked up the hill to that one spot where you get a killer view of this stinky yet beloved city. Had Waits playing in my headphones—man, what a vibe. Then it just hit me... flash after flash... pure sentimentality. All these old scenes from my life started playing behind my eyes—faces of people who meant everything to me once, but aren't even part of my world anymore. It’s that creeping fear that all those moments are turning into nothing more than faded memories, like some old movie you saw ages ago. And then came the lump in my throat. It was inevitable. The tears just started falling. Honestly, thank god there weren't any regular dog walkers around, or they would've thought some bald guy with headphones sitting on a bench staring at the skyline was losing his damn mind.
1. Heading to a buddy's cabin in the Catskills. 2. Plenty of booze on deck. 3. An endless supply of food. 4. And, if things go well, plenty of substances.
Does anyone else remember that absolutely terrible sci-fi series? Something about space marines or galactic warriors... some junk like that. It aired somewhere in the early nineties.

👍 ........brilliant!.........Bruce Willis back when he actually had hair........but towards the end of the series, when they finally got together? That part was totally overlooked before just... fizzling out quickly.
4 Non Blondes—honestly, you could have done much better with this selection I’d go with Sweet Home Alabama Or Mrs. Robinson Maybe something by Crowded House
New Adventures is excellent Many people consider FNM's album of the Year to be a weak effort... personally, I think it's great Pearl Jam's No Code Pulp's last one, We Love Life, is completely overlooked, yet to me, it's nearly on par with their previous three masterpieces Smashing Pumpkins' Washing Machine
