Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
quietmason4 said:The Ottomans marching toward Europe.

So, I was just scrolling through my feed and saw that The Guardian put out this absolutely gut-wrenching story about a head on a pike.

Footage appears to show fresh atrocity against Ukrainian PoW

News Report: Horrific video and photos have emerged that appear to show the head of a Ukrainian prisoner of war stuck on a pole outside a house in the eastern Ukrainian city of Popasna, which was captured by Russian forces in May and is close to the current frontline in the Donbas.

Some absolutely sickening images just surfaced from occupied Popasna, showing what looks like the head of a Ukrainian prisoner of war impaled on a stake. I’m not going to drop a direct link here because, honestly, nobody needs to see that, but it’s already blowing up all over Twitter.
Even Oleksander Scherbina, the former Ukrainian ambassador, has commented on this. There’s also a video circulating of the same guy’s body, missing both his head and his arms. It’s just... it's hard to even process.

First we saw that horrific footage of the prisoner being mutilated, and now we're seeing this medieval-style execution with heads on spikes. Just when you think the Russian forces couldn't sink any lower or be any more depraved, they find a new way to shock the world.

Man, oil prices have absolutely cratered. We’re looking at the lowest levels we've seen since the whole invasion of Ukraine kicked off, and honestly, it feels like we've circled right back to where things were in February... the lowest close since Feb. 2.

Oil prices tumble to their lowest point since the invasion of Ukraine as everyone starts sweating a potential recession

Russia’s absolute obsession with the LGBT community is honestly getting wild at this point. They’ve got people on TV now claiming they’re gearing up to take down entire LGBT divisions. It feels like they’ve moved on from fighting NATO and US labs, and even from the Nazis and Banderites, to basically waging war against gender identity itself.

Meanwhile on Russian state TV:

"War correspondent Yevgeny Lisitsyn, what’s the word from the front lines?"

"Yeah, the guys here just told me, 'We're gonna absolutely crush those LGBT troops!'" https://twitter.com/francis_scarr/st...4JljP9dwvex57w

Man, I just heard some absolutely devastating news today about one of the biggest grain moguls in Ukraine. This 74-year-old businessman, Vadaturisky, was killed along with his wife when a missile hit their home. It’s honestly such a tragedy because, let's be real, the guy had more than enough wealth and connections to have legally relocated anywhere else in the world if he wanted to. It really hits home how it feels like only the folks struggling to make ends meet get caught in the crossfire, which is just a heartbreakingly common reality in times like these. He lost everything today over in Mykolaiv.

So, I just noticed something pretty wild happening over in Sevastopol in Crimea—they’ve actually started painting arrows on buildings to point people toward the nearest shelters. Up until now, you haven't seen any of that stuff around there. It looks like Russia is clearly bracing itself and expecting a Ukrainian strike.

The subheadline says it all:
Not a single one of the 54 African nations has joined in on the Western sanctions against Russia.

So, apparently, the EU doesn't carry much weight there, not even by a small margin.
At the same time, within the EU—take Italy, for instance—we've already seen 20,000 migrants arriving from Africa this year alone.

I’d bet anything he was talking about that recent report regarding the Russian looting of Sudanese gold.

Russia is plundering Gold in Sudan to boost Putin's War effort in Ukraine The evidence also suggests that Russia Has colluded with Sudan's beleaguered military leadership , enabling billions of dollars in Gold to bypass The Sudanese state and to deprive The poverty-stricken country of hundreds of millions in state revenue

They know the UK has its own people held in captivity, so this is a way to strike back since the UK provides maximum support and weaponry to Ukraine. It's all a psychological play intended to make voters in the UK pressure their government to stop helping Ukraine, essentially begging Russia to spare their citizens. They fail to grasp that Russia crossed the Rubicon long ago—this kind of policy stopped being profitable ages ago. The Russians consistently operate under the false premise that the West is "soft" simply because we value human life, while viewing themselves as "tough" because they can lose people without facing domestic consequences. The West respects human life, certainly, but we respect certain values even more.

And let's not forget how Russia Twitter is banned too. 🕺

Honestly, the Russians are just building their own massive database of evidence for war crimes investigators to use later.

By the way, now that Russia has added him to the exchange list, they’ve finally admitted that the Berlin bicycle assassin was their hitman—something they denied until the bitter end. A German court actually charged Russia with state terrorism over that whole mess.

This is also the first time Fox News (covering this CNN story) refers to Vadim Krasikov by his actual name—which we originally flagged along with @the_ins_ru and @derspiegel. The masks are officially off, folks. Putin is clearly desperate to get his assassins back.

Nicole James said:A psychologist I spoke with once pointed out that Mexicans have used these exact same tactics before. It seems to be a pattern—when you really want to incite chaos and horror, you just release psychopaths from prison and hand them a weapon...

Honestly, it feels like the Russians are even planting these total psychos inside their own embassies. Just pure, unadulterated sociopaths at work.

Check out this tweet from the official Russian embassy account over in New York City.
War prisoners ought to be hanged because the Azov guys aren't actual soldiers.

💬#Azov militants deserve execution, but death not by firing squad but by hanging, because they’re not real soldiers. They deserve a humiliating death.

They caught him just by looking at his gear. Bellingcat actually confirmed that the footage of the killer—who's also a total monster—is the real deal.

I was reading up on this earlier and man, it's heavy stuff, but Bellingcat’s @AricToler confirmed that the video showing this Russian soldier committing such an atrocity against a Ukrainian PoW is totally authentic. Apparently, the exact same guy showed up in a clip on Russian TV wearing the same hat and bracelet, and there wasn't a single shred of evidence to suggest the video had been doctored or faked. It's pretty wild how quickly those details come together when you start digging. #Ukraine #Russia https://t.co/vWkIa6Vnru

So, I saw this English ad trying to lure foreigners into visiting Russia, basically pitching it as this land of deep-rooted traditional values and gorgeous women. Honestly? It feels like a total joke aimed straight at guys who fall for that exact cliché and think that’s all there is to the place.

Or maybe it's just an Informer story.

Nah, I'm dead serious. They actually identified someone from Siberia as the one responsible.

The Russian military has published footage of abuse of Ukrainian prisoners of war

The video shows Russian mercenaries bullying a captured Ukrainian soldier. In what can only be described as pure depravity, they cut off his testicles. Some of them were also shown in a Russian media report.

I just stumbled upon some absolutely sickening footage showing Russian soldiers mutilating a Ukrainian soldier. I’m definitely not dropping the link here—honestly, if you really want to see it, you can find it easily enough on your own, but trust me, you don't want to. It is just pure, unadulterated horror after horror.

Kate Cook27 said:The folks in the Baltic states and Poland know exactly who the enemy is.

And here’s what Pushilin had to say:

Russia invaded Ukraine back in late February, claiming they needed to protect Russian-speaking populations from some supposed genocide by the Ukrainian government. Well—they certainly "protected" them, alright.

Pushilin has been around since 2014—just one of the Kremlin's most loyal enforcers. Honestly, he's even outdone Eduard Basarin at his own game.

They claim they're going in there to protect Russian speakers, but the truth is, the whole Russian-speaking population in Kharkiv is actually standing against them. 😵

Honestly, it feels like so many Russians have completely lost their sense of reality because they're so deep in all that propaganda. I was reading about this wild situation in Vietnam where a Russian woman actually went after locals on the street just because she thought they were being unpatriotic toward Putin and her home country.

This video of a Russian tourist in Vietnam Trying to attack locals for not supporting Putin and Russia is going viral in Vietnam.

She’s out there screaming things like, “Are you against Putin? Are you against my country? Are you fascists?” https://t.co/n4aA1FjSNl

Looks like Gerhard Schröder headed off to Moscow for his "annual getaway." Honestly, you can just tell this is classic Russian-style trolling—that signature blend of arrogance and blatant lying that our former German Chancellor has really mastered over the years.

Former #German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder Has arrived in #Moscow. "I’m just here for a quick little vacation." He even told a reporter that Moscow is actually a lovely city.

The whole chat went down right near the Rosneft headquarters, which makes sense since Schröder used to run the show there as chairman of the board. https://twitter.com/nexta_tv/status/...kDG30GNAxWFc-g

boldbison40 said:If they decide to go all in on this particular card, the EU would just slap some sanctions on gas and call it a day.

The whole endgame here is to manufacture instability within the EU or, better yet, spark an internal shouting match over who exactly is violating the sanctions; it's a calculated attempt to paint the EU as a weakling that begs from a powerful Russia while simultaneously continuing to buy their gas because, let's be honest, the Russians are desperate for the cash.

I remember telling my buddy about how nobody was willing to budge after that second turbine broke down right after they "fixed" the first one.

Russia is playing this dirty, crooked game. It’s the same old trickery we saw when they suddenly "discovered" sulfates in Georgian wines just to squeeze Georgia, or when they started flagging pesticides in tomatoes from Azerbaijan or sour mandarins from our neck of the woods. They're nothing but street-level scammers and fraudsters—total hustlers acting like low-life thugs you'd run into in a shady part of Brooklyn.

Is this what’s happening with that famous turbine everyone in Europe is relying on? Gazprom: ‘Oh, another one broke! Better cut the supply even more!’

Carl Lee27 said:I’ve already mentioned this somewhere else in this thread, but look, it’s pretty obvious: Russia knows they’re essentially finished as the West's primary energy supplier. Honestly, the shift away from them isn't even an accident—it's a calculated strategic move by the West. At this point, it doesn't even matter if they follow the letter of their contracts or play by the rules, because within just a few years, Germany won't be importing much gas from them anyway. They basically have one massive, high-stakes card left to play before their time runs out, which is simply cutting off the gas supply entirely to try and squeeze some concessions out of Germany.

And let me tell you, they can only play that hand once, and they’re playing it right now.

Man, here we go again with all these excuses from Russia regarding that Siemens turbine. It just goes to show that Russia is proving itself to be a totally unreliable supplier. Honestly, in the long run, Russia is basically digging its own energy grave within the EU. This whole situation is likely going to end up looking pretty bad for the Russians themselves.

⚡️"ExxonMobil" announced they're halting operations on another Siemens at the compressor station in Portova.

Because of this, deliveries through Nord Stream are going to be cut in half starting July 27, topping out at no more than 33 million cubic meters of gas per day.

a) It wasn't us. We have zero clue who did it.🤷>
b) It wasn't us. The Ukrainians targeted themselves.
c) Okay, fine, it was us, but we were only hitting military targets.

It’s an endless cycle.

Man, you aren't kidding. Honestly, I don't even get why these constant Russian lies even get airtime when everyone knows they're blatant fabrications.
