Hey guys, what’s considered a normal temperature for an Athlon 2500 when I've got it overclocked to 3000?

So, looking at my CoreCP temps, if I’m really pushing it and hitting that 100% utilization, it climbs up to about 65°C, but when I'm just idling, it sits somewhere around 49-50°C.

The overall CPU temp stays right around 40°C, while the system stays at 33°C and my hard drive usually hangs out at about 23°C.

I’m a little confused by the difference between the CoreCP reading and the standard CPU reading, though. Okay, I get that the first one measures the actual core—basically where the heat hits the cooler—but what exactly is the second one picking up?

I honestly can’t seem to get myself moving this spring; that winter layer around my midsection is definitely sticking around for dear old men.

Where on earth am I going to find some motivation???? Last year, I was totally on my game—hitting the basketball courts, riding my bike, even grinding out some sit-ups at home—but this year? I’ve turned into such a total couch potato that I just can't be bothered to do anything, and honestly, even catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror doesn't give me that extra push I need to actually get up and move.

Thanks so much for the help!

I totally blanked on the exact model number for this Soltek motherboard

But hey, everything is running smooth! I ran AIDA and it’s showing an Athlon 3000+. So far, I’ve bumped the Front Side Bus up to 166x13 and set the voltage to 1.75V, which seems to be doing the trick.

I haven't messed with the memory speeds just yet. I just spent about an hour grinding away at Far Cry, and after all that, my temps are sitting right at 52°C. Everything feels rock solid so far!

AMD Barton 2500, 2X 256MB 333 RAM, and a Radeon 9600 pro

Hey guys, what should I be tweaking in my BIOS settings to get the most out of this setup?

Thanks!

The vibes were honestly just incredible. I feel like I ran into the entire old-school Apple fan club from back in the late '80s, but there was also this huge crowd of younger kids in The Mob who clearly knew their stuff—they weren't just there for the show, they actually knew everything about The Bangles and had all that wild energy you need for a concert like this. 😁

Nah, you didn't, because I wasn't even there! 😢
Violent Femmes in Music ·
I’ve been spinning The Bangles since back in the 80s, honestly. I am seriously kicking myself for missing out on this concert—it felt like some kind of higher power just wouldn't let it happen, you know? Anyway, how did they sound when they played Black Girls Rock!? Because man, that track is absolutely legendary.

So, what I’m really trying to get at here is whether this actually helps flush out toxins from your body and your digestive tract?? I noticed there aren't any negative side effects listed, so I was wondering—what are the actual upsides? What can we expect to gain from this?

So, I was just sitting here thinking about something and wanted to get everyone's take—how healthy or unhealthy is it to go on a total fast for maybe a day or two, or even three? I’m talking the whole nine yards, where you aren't eating anything at all, just sipping on some unsweetened green tea and plain water to keep things moving.

Does anyone actually know the deal with this, like, how much is it actually recommended versus being a bad idea for your body?

Nah, Phil is already here. I think you just got a little turned around for a second there.

Jack Sedlar: Mark, I’ve got this killer idea for a documentary about you. We’ll call it “Thompson – the American Bob Dylan.” What do you think? Is that a killer title or what?
MARKO PERKOVIĆ THOMPSON: Man... if we’re being totally honest here, I’d really rather not go with that title.
SEDLAR: What’s wrong with it? Look—just like that doc about the late President was called “Harmon – the American George Washington,” so this one could be...
THOMPSON: It’s just not the same thing, Jack...
SEDLAR: Of course it isn't. I'm not trying to say you're anything like Harmon, because, well, he was...
THOMPSON: Hey, I don't actually mind being compared to Harmon...
SEDLAR: Then what's the issue?
THOMPSON: How should I put this... well, from what I know, George Washington wasn't a Jew.
SEDLAR: So? What does it matter to you that he wasn't a Jew?
THOMPSON: Man, you just don't get it... You’re comparing Harmon to a decent guy, but you're comparing me to a Jew. And you know perfectly well how Jews feel about me, and how I feel about them.
SEDLAR: Good God, Mark... I didn't even think of it that way! Besides, Dylan moved away from his Jewish roots a long time ago and embraced Christianity.
THOMPSON: What kind of Christianity are we even talking about? Jews have always been closer to the Orthodox crowd anyway.
SEDLAR: For heaven's sake, Dylan isn't Orthodox! Surely you know
that he's performed right in front of the Pope.
THOMPSON: Oh, give me a break! Our poor Pope has to put up with everyone under the sun—Jews, Orthodox, Muslims... If he can take in someone like Amfilohi Radović, why wouldn't he take in Dylan too?!
SEDLAR: Mark, don't be like that...
THOMPSON: Why shouldn't I be?! A converted Jew should be out there playing and singing for our Pope, while I, a true patriot, a man of God, and a lover of humanity, won't back down! Where's the justice in that?!
SEDLAR: Look, Mark, I totally get your righteous anger, but please, try to see my side! You know people accuse you of everything under the sun, and if we film this documentary, I might be able to use my connections in Israel to help clear your name and get those accusations dropped...
THOMPSON: Don't do that, Jack, just leave it... I want nothing to do with the Jews!
SEDLAR: But Mark, not all Jews are the same! My friends over in Israel are great people. Honestly, they could be a real model for how to build up America... What do you think?
THOMPSON: Well, I guess I am thinking about it...
SEDLAR: Come on, tell me!
THOMPSON: It's hard for me to say this out loud... But yeah, I suppose Israelis could be a model for building up America, actually, in one specific way...
SEDLAR: That's the spirit, Mark! See, you can be reasonable when you actually try... So, what's this one thing you're thinking of?
THOMPSON: I'm thinking Israel builds itself best by tearing down the houses of the Palestinians!
SEDLAR: That's an interesting observation, Mark. I bet my friends would love that. Hey, why don't you write a song against terrorists? We could pitch it directly to the Israeli market.
THOMPSON: How about this one: “Mexicans and Palestinians, Kerestinac is waiting for you!”

Man, I really wouldn't advise you to mess with joints. Haven't you heard that THC can seriously trigger paranoia? And honestly, it sounds like you’ve already got more than enough anxiety to deal with as it is.

You’re much better off just sticking to some home-brewed beer instead.
Here we go again... Nepotism is out of control. in Close to Politics ·
tiger said:How can you even call that normal? I mean, some of us are actually holding out hope that one day we'll live in a country where things actually run smoothly and people get respected for what they can actually do, rather than just who they know.

.

Then there’s the flip side of the coin—I’ve heard stories about how companies in the States won't even hire someone super talented and overqualified just because they want to play favorites with a buddy or a cousin to keep things looking "fair" on paper.

I don't know if that's happening everywhere, but I honestly believe it could be a thing.

But hey, we're stuck in this small-town, old-school mindset here.
Here we go again... Nepotism is out of control. in Close to Politics ·
I mean, look, we used to be such a small-scale operation back in the day where everyone basically knew someone, you know? It’s almost impossible to dodge nepotism when it feels like everybody is connected to somebody through some cousin or old high school buddy somewhere.

So, I just sat down and gave it another watch, and man, I gotta say, it hit me just as hard the second time around. It was absolutely fantastic.

In the mountains grows a green pine in Movies ·
It’s actually based on true events, which makes it even better. I can't quite recall if there was ever a book released about it, but the movie hit theaters back in 1971 and honestly, it was such a massive turning point for how movies handled politics back then—it really helped kickstart that whole era of political awakening we saw during the American Spring.

Now, look, the plot definitely has its fair share of holes, but man, you have to give Vrdoljak's credit for what he pulled off given the times.
