Who’s your favorite?!
Where’s your Clint Eastwood when he was acting just like Blondie, or being all gritty like Dirty Harry?
And where's Lee Van Cleef?

I’m with you on the rest of it.
But Chuck Norris is number one, hands down. That guy was a legend on the Dragon's Path, seriously... WHERE WERE YOU GUYS?!

WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THINGS ACTUALLY GOT TOUGH!???? REALLY?!!!!

1. Watching the sunrise over the harbor from the north side of the bridge—pure beauty.
2. In the middle of the night by the docks on the south side near Krešo—right by the bridge.
3. That hilltop in Queen Elizabeth Park when there isn't a single cloud in the sky at night.

😍

I just tried to put together a list of beautiful, romantic spots around the city, but I’m honestly struggling here...
First off, the river smells like garbage everywhere you go.
Second, no matter where you look, it’s just cemeteries.

Top 5 places where the river doesn't stink:
1. Nahorevo
2. Barice
3. crepoljsko
4. Jarčedoli
5. Sedrenik

But seriously...
that idiot Mom totally played us with that little song, I have no idea what kind of nonsense is going on here...

So you're telling me you aren't even heading down to Exploited...?! I told him the usual crap about how he wouldn't go, then sent him a text the next day—it was legendary, everyone was slipping around in vomit and stuff...

1. Sports in general.
2. Things people call sports that actually aren't (chess, racing, fighting, etc.).

First off, you lumped chess in with Formula 1 ( 🎉 Montoya 🎉 ) and second—you put combat sports in the same category as chess.
What a joke. 😬

So what, you're gonna rock your Thermals tonight while I wear something else?

I’m just sitting here in the front row watching the circus unfold. Over and out. And yeah, I’m saying this to my buddy from the Midwest.

So you're basically Aludirati suggesting Cicdale wouldn't cut it at Burda!??? Man, just wear a leather jacket over your bare chest and call it a day, for god's sake!

Man, if someone had told me back then how much I'd end up regretting having an American passport that basically keeps me stuck in one place—since even Osa ( 🙏 ) has access to more than I do—I wouldn't have believed them. But hey, life happens, and here we are.

Michael Newman50 said:Man, those honey cookies!! Seriously!! 🙂

Back when my great-grandmother was still around, they were everywhere. Now? They've been total garbage for at least ten years. 🙂

Anyway, I'm taking orders. Help yourselves...
A pound of baklava—pistachio, almond, or walnut—for $20. $27
Finding decent honey cookies these days is getting tough, especially the old-school kind. Nowadays, they just throw in coconut flakes and all sorts of random crap, so they aren't what they used to be... but whatever.

4. Tulumba (inspired by those Egyptian sweets)
5. Dry Turkish Delight (perfect for warming up with some tea)

Bonus—Tahini Halva

That’s just lazy thinking if you think people—even the local mechanics—only have spirit because they happen to be on your side.👋 Honestly, you're full of it, even if you're trying to play it cool about it...

Where on earth did that Tasmanian devil hide, man? Seriously, where’s that little monster at?

Personally, I think bears are the absolute best animals out there—they're basically the ultimate role model.

When are you hitting up NYC? We gotta head over to those bikers for that pool showdown—SS 7. vs. SS 13.? 🙂

Probably by New Year's... I'm trying to pull together a killer lineup at IBM, maybe a Friday night bender followed by a solid show at the Czar.

That record is a solid 10... way better than the first one.

Speaking of things being hilarious...
Has anyone seen that movie, "corner for a controversial moment" by Djemel Sabic? It was just at the Sundance Film Festival... here's the link if you want to check out what it's about. I'm honestly trying to hunt down a digital copy because this thing is an absolute cult classic. If I actually track it down, I'll be set for life...
A corner for a controversial...

Picture Batten sitting there through the whole game with a bottle of bourbon and a snack right next to the goalpost, just drinking and eating while the match is going on... he's basically letting them score because he can barely stay upright. Anyway, the team is Craftsman FC, and they play in some tiny local recreational league.

stormyviper11 said:Why should I care about yet another pack of soccer hooligans charging at fans of an old-school club with weapons, even if it's the Gravediggers? 😕 Maybe these Zeljin guys listened to slightly better music than the rest, but looking at this story, I don't see how they're any better than anyone else.

I’d honestly bring back Alcatraz just to deal with the types who go wild at stadiums and around them. On this link my buddy shared, all I see is a glorification of brawls and the usual crap those guys used to pull. They might be cool, decent people to grab a beer with and talk about music or cartoons, but the fact that they consciously sought out fan fights makes them idiots in my eyes.

First off, this whole thing started between me and my buddy, which doesn't mean others aren't invited to weigh in, but it does mean there's some internal history and stuff going on that changes the perspective on just another "fan riot."

These fans are different in a lot of ways, and on several levels, they matter to me, my buddy, and Boston in general. Before the war, I lived twenty yards from Zeljin Stadium, and the Joint union guys are from my neighborhood. For instance, the first time I even heard of the HC group was from some graffiti right under my window. It wasn't a crowd that went to the stadium to get therapy; they went because they loved the club. But if you mess with them—you're in for a world of hurt, and yeah, they'll use weapons (you don't know the full story from the BG days, so don't get hung up on that).
The main reason for this back-and-forth between my buddy and me regarding the Maniyaks and that crew is that his neighborhood and mine were both "maniyak" territory. Both our neighborhoods were taken over by the enemy in '92. I was a refugee in my own city for four and a half years, and I still haven't moved back home because my apartment building was burned down, even though I live even closer to the stadium now than I did before 😉. And it was that exact Maniyak crew that was the first to pick up arms to defend the city and take back their streets. A lot of them died. Despite all that, when you talk to someone from that group today, nobody's gonna tell you they hate Mexicans, even though some of them are in wheelchairs or on the brink of starvation—much like a lot of American soldiers. As for me, they and many in Boston experienced being kicked out of their homes by the enemy twice. Once during the war, and once during peacetime. If all those animals who burned and slaughtered people in the middle of the city came back and lived here with us now, going to a USA vs. Mexico game and waving flags saying "Noz zica Srebrenica"... then seriously, those guys live among us now, no joke. That's why we respect people like these guys. Personally, I hate Mexicans openly, because the percentage of them I've met who aren't blatant extremists—or worse, what I call the "latent" ones—is tiny. But you won't hear that from those people. Guess they're better people than me.
I feel like you could argue about the war until tomorrow because you don't grasp the sheer absurdity of life unfolding here. I don't have the energy to lay it all out articulately, but I know I kept my head on straight by literally running away from an enemy rifle, and that crew protected me and this city from them. They are still some of the few left fighting for Canada, because unfortunately, a third of the country thinks they live in America when they've never seen anything beyond a small town, and another third thinks they live in Mexico rather than some extremist stronghold.

BTW—in Boston, we never had fan riots like the Reds and the Gravediggers. Here, the locals were always brothers; everything boiled down to jokes, messing around, and ribbing each other, specifically in that surrealist comedy style. I don't know if you remember that episode where Nelle baits Perhan and Djuro into a fight based on nationalism, and the guy just asks, confused, "Wait, I don't get it... is this a Zeljin vs. Boston thing?"
