To each their own🙂 but the only killer snails I actually respect are slugs 🙏 🙏 🙏

Joshua Johnson67 said:Richard Fowler68—if you haven't seen them yet, go watch movies like Aragami, Versus, Audition, Marebito, down to Hell, Three, Extremes, or Ab-normal beauty. They’re just a few of the damn good ones, and most of them are pretty recent...

Just a random list...
Just an oasis of the zombies...
Brothers Grimm...
Leprechaun IV... honestly, where do they even find the budget for this? It’s just more of the same mindless garbage. Another sequel that nobody actually asked for. Just total trash...
MST3K - Legend of the Dinosaur
MST3K - the robot Versus the Aztec Mummy.avi
Zombie Versus Ninja. The matchup is ridiculous... but I can't stop thinking about it. You have one side that's just mindless, rotting meat driven by instinct, and the other is pure, disciplined lethality. One mistake and the ninja is dead. But if the ninja misses that first strike... it's over. It’s a mess...
Manos... the hands of fate.
Chopping Mall. Just... what was that? Total mess.
insecticidal
Same old story. Same old crap...

That’s just a small fraction of the movies sitting on my hard drive waiting for me to actually find the time to watch them. Not to mention the two million VHS tapes gathering dust on my shelf, all filled with those old-school 80s horror flicks... you know, the ones with the cheap yellow subtitles... 😁)

I checked out Versus, Audition, Visitor Q, and Ichi the Killer like you suggested... and honestly? None of them did it for me. Just didn't hit the mark at all. Thanks for the recommendation, though... 🙏Honestly, props to you, but I’m just done. I can't force myself to sit through stuff that clearly isn't my vibe anymore. Maybe once I finally grow up... though I'm only 32... 😍I might eventually hit that phase where I actually start liking these kinds of movies, and if that happens, trust me, I’ll be watching them with total enjoyment. But until then... zombie Versus ninja, here I come... 😁

crimsonmoose3 said:Is Call of the Death by Takeshi Miike the same guy who did Ichi and Audition? 🙏 🙏 🙏

I think that's the one. But what do I know... I've watched both of those, plus a handful of other Japanese films from the last few years, but they just don't sit right with me. Something about them really bugs me, and I can't quite put my finger on it. Eventually, I just gave up. I don't bother forcing myself through them anymore—with so many movies out there, I see no reason to struggle through something that doesn't click, no matter how much critics praise it.

On the flip side, the older Japanese cinema works for me. Dreams is probably my favorite, and I liked that Lone Wolf and Cub series, and those Musashi films too...

So, there you go... 😕

crimsonmoose3 said:🙏 🙏 🙏 And that scene in the room where the clown doll just stares at the kid... honestly, clowns have creeped me out since I saw IT. Finally, someone who gets it. 👍

😬 looks like we share more than just taste in movies; we share the same phobias. Clowns, carousels, carnivals... 😱 😱

crimsonmoose3 said:And there's some Japanese horror on this Saturday, Call Until You Die or something like that?

Maybe it's "Watch Until You Die (of Boredom)"? 😁

Brian Williams said:Exactly what I said when I went back and watched it AGAIN 👍

If you ask me, the mere fact that you actually sat through that garbage a second time disqualifies you from having any real conversation about horror movies...🙄

crimsonmoose3 said:Fine, I'll admit it, Poltergeist was a bad call.

What do you mean "bad call"? Poltergeist is freaking terrifying at times. You could eat scenes like the girl appearing through the TV for breakfast, along with The Ring, Dark Water, Tale of Two Sisters, and all those other Japanese flicks. Just toss them on some toast with a couple of over-easy eggs and wash it down with cocoa. The only truly horrific thing about those Japanese "horror movies" is how mind-numbingly boring they are.

"Dok čekaš sabah za šejtanom" is easily one of my top 3 albums from the entire American scene. Those arrangements and that rhythm section... just irreplaceable...🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

Elizabeth Mendoza43 said:but honestly, 90% of the crowd who's heard of Kerber are just trash. To me, they're great. I went through hell just to track down two of their best-of albums.

Look, I've got that "Ljudi i bogovi" album right here. If you want, I can upload it somewhere. Honestly, the whole thing seems ridiculous to me... 🤣 but I know there are some people out there who actually dig it.

If I ever run into someone who actually gives a damn about and loves Last Butterfly Game:
- I'll marry her, if she's a woman
- I might consider switching sides, if he's a man 😬

narantxa loves them. 😘 good luck 🤣

Brian Williams said:Not really. You can't argue about taste because taste is subjective to the individual, but you can definitely debate the perception of the film itself. There are way more factors involved there than just whether or not you personally liked it...

which basically boils down to... arguing about tastes.

Brian Williams said:Look, if I say Wrong Turn is a great movie, I mean it was EXCELLENTLY filmed and TOTALLY INTENSE 👍

It’s honestly a miracle it isn't on any "best of" lists yet... it has to be some kind of conspiracy. I don't see any other explanation...

wearycanyon55 said:Dammit, you guys are just hating on this movie for no reason... personally, I thought it was fine. So what? If you don't get the classics... YOU CAN'T ARGUE WITH TASTE....

Pointless. What else is there to talk about if not taste?

Alex Parker8 said:Look, you don't have to sell me on it... ☕ ...yeah, I'm with you... eMule is definitely king, with Napster right on its heels... at least according to my own gut feeling... 😁 btw, just ran a quick search and found Warrior and the Demon and Revenge of the Colossal Beasts (about 350mb each), so... there you go, plenty of space to grab those old movies... 👍

Dammit, I can't find a single one of them 😢 uh, looks like I'm going to have to commit ultimate blasphemy and actually look up some instructions somewhere 🙂

I stick with Ionix

Sure, there are probably specific subreddits where this kind of thing belongs, but I don't think anyone's going to lose their mind if we drop a few more details here. It would be helpful for the newbies who have spent all their time relying on things like BitTorrent or old-school file sharing...🙂

Zeljkoo said:If I took Anna Karenina and rewrote it from scratch—changing all the names and moving the setting somewhere else—do you think people would actually read it?

If I cut it down to about 80 pages, swapped out the leads for a Black protagonist and a gay character, and threw in some subtle commentary condemning radical Islamist terrorism, I bet it would be a massive hit here in the States. They’d probably turn it into a movie too...🙂

driftingmason7 said:For me, the main thing is that Wrong Turn was actually interesting. That Texas Chainsaw massacre flick? Boring. Honestly, that might be the worst way I've ever spent $3.25 in my life

Once you hit 25 or 26, go back and rewatch the first couple of movies. You'll look at what you wrote eight years ago and... 🙈

from what I can see, they have Alien

Now you've done it. I'm going to spend my entire weekend glued to this computer digging through this forum instead of actually resting. When my boss asks why I look like a wreck on Monday, I'll just say, "Go ask wearygardener13." 😁

Anyway, sending some virtual beers your way for the link. Seriously, thanks. 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
