They seem far too disinterested, or perhaps just too lazy, to care about anything that happened before they were born. I mean, how could icons like David Beckham or Justin Timberlake even find themselves on such a list when the 20th century was overflowing with legends like Errol Flynn, John Wayne, Rudolph Valentino, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Douglas Fairbanks, Cary Grant, Gary Cooper, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Veronica Lake, James Mason, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, James Stewart, or Marlon Brando?

If you ask me, the absolute coolest icon to ever walk the earth was Elvis Presley—I mean, he was lightyears ahead of his time. He was a true original, a massive showman, and honestly, pretty scandalous back in those days... that soulful, deep voice coming from a white kid... just legendary.

Okay, look, I mean, you have to admit the guy was a total badass and definitely had style, but...

The thing is, the guy messed up, he died, and he's just gone, so I guess as every single one of us gets a little older than him, we're technically becoming cooler than he ever was.

Honestly, maybe we should just forget those silly little lists and realize that just surviving in this crazy world day after day is probably the ultimate definition of being cool...
