I was watching some of the coverage from earlier today and it got me thinking about how much the atmosphere of these big international events has shifted. It used to feel like the whole country was collectively holding its breath for a single moment, but now with so many different streams and constant updates, it feels much more fragmented.
Don't get me wrong, seeing athletes reach the podium is always incredible, and you can feel that surge of pride when a local hero pulls off something massive. But I find myself wondering if the "magic" of the underdog story is getting diluted because we're constantly bombarded with results in real-time. It’s hard to build up that tension when you see a score flash on your phone before the athlete even finishes their routine.
Do you guys think the constant digital connectivity makes these big sporting milestones feel more or less impactful than they used to be?
It’s probably pretty unlikely they’ll agree to just swap out the whole panel; that’s just how the job goes. They’ll likely pull it out, slap on some body filler, sand it down, spray it, and call it a day.
I mean, I know it’s never quite perfect. Getting that seamless look—you know, where the body lines flow perfectly and the area around the fuel tank looks factory—is basically impossible once you start cutting. But I guess that’s just the risk we all take, whether we like it or not. Personally, I wouldn't be thrilled with a patch job either, but it follows that logic... if you don't want it done their way, I suppose you can pay extra to have it done exactly how you want. Sadly, that's usually how it works.

So, in Mozilla Chrome--->tools-->options-->advanced-->general->warn me when websites try to redirect, you just hit the X, close it, and then reopen it. That should do it.
Don't forget to say thanks.
Thanks.
nimblecanyon, I'm having a rough time too... yesterday it kept kicking me over to Facebook, and today it's sending me straight to DraftKings. I mean, if it isn't a 503 error, it's one of these. It feels like such a rarity to actually make it onto the forum without something glitching out at least once a day.
:/
Since I can't really edit my posts, if this causes any issues, maybe just delete those few times I mentioned the name in this thread, thanks. I didn't realize that wasn't allowed, sorry.

It could have gone faster, I guess. Man, that whole "tough guy" mentality really threw me for a loop. It totally messed with my head. I kept reading those guys online and convinced myself that a real man shouldn't back down from anything, so I was just sitting there waiting for someone else to foot the bill 😁. Then, after playing music for a few days, once your fingers start aching, you realize... yeah, that’s not working..🙂
Who's even going to believe me now? People will probably say I'm being ambiguous or whatever, but hey, I messed up. I have to see this through and admit that Michael Lee4 actually isn't that bad. After everything I read and heard, and after all that nagging I did, he actually met me halfway just two minutes after I apologized. 🙏
While I was stuck, I at least managed to read through all the rules. Honestly, that was the most interesting thing to do since I couldn't check out cars online.
I called that guy Božo earlier but I honestly have no clue what his actual name is, sorry Tyndall. Are you Saša? If not, sorry for calling you the wrong name, and also, sorry for the bother.
Anyway, talk later.
I’m not really sure if anyone actually works on this forum anymore. From what I can tell—and I follow this place relatively often enough—the entire government and the judicial system just get mocked constantly. I don't mind that; I actually value everyone's opinion, and I'm not against it. I agree that changes need to happen, and honestly, a good chunk of everything in this country, including the courts, doesn't function quite the way it should. But, when I see how outdated, unfair, or just plain uninterested people are when posting here, I might offer a little friendly advice. Maybe you should clean up your own backyard before criticizing everyone else.
On that car subforum thread, the "natječaj za Pave" (), I mentioned that an article in The New York Times was full of nonsense, starting right from the headline. Because of that, I got mocked. I kept writing about how the U.S. Forest Service is a serious institution, much like Ford or Zubak, and I just didn't believe they would intentionally enter into a legally invalid contract or a public procurement bid. Again, I was ridiculed, mostly because a few people were backing the moderator, leaving me as the lone voice on the other side. My posts were even labeled as trolling by the mod. Later, I pointed out that while the contract looks a bit cozy at first glance, if it's legal, then the fault lies with the law, not the Forest Service or Zubak. I also noted that any serious company wants to work with professionals who are capable, high-quality, and efficient. If the Forest Service saw that in Zubak, and if Zubak is the only one able to provide consistent, continuous service, then it makes sense to go with them to avoid hurting their own interests. That’s just my take, anyway. I got mocked for that too.
Anyway,
To try and find some middle ground, I shared a link to a similar thread where a user pointed out that a bid has to be clear and backed by a technical description so people actually know what they're buying. If there's too much wiggle room in a bid, all sorts of bidders (there are plenty, since the scope is huge) will try to jump in. When a company wants the best for itself and doesn't have the time or trust to mess around with unproven or half-baked vendors, they reject those bids and go with the "safer" options. But that creates a problem: the rejected bidders file appeals, the whole bidding process has to restart, and it just drags on forever. That’s exactly why a bid MUST be strict and clear, just to weed out the junk right from the start.
Furthermore,
People here constantly make fun of the capabilities of Ford dealers, or Chrysler, or whatever—those who follow this stuff know what I mean. They also frequently mock the quality of French cars. Yet, these same people turn around and lecture the Forest Service on why they won't give a chance to Ford, Kia, Hyundai, or Chrysler. Honestly, guys, you're just shooting yourselves in the foot, and I don't see how that helps anyone.
Also,
I told the moderator that it isn't right to call my posts "trolling" just because I'm quoting "20 people saying one thing while I say another." I wasn't saying that; I was saying that later on, as more people join, there will probably be others who share my view. But he doesn't see it that way.
Later on—well, now, and even more so as people with actual experience join in—we're reaching a point where I'm not the only one against the majority. But it feels too late; it's like a staged scene where I've been pushed out and can't defend myself. I calmly asked for explanations, I waited, and I encouraged dialogue. But nobody is responding.
Why isn't anyone responding? I guess because the situation feels rigged. My points above can't really be refuted, so now you're just waiting for me to do exactly what I'm doing: writing because I want to write, just so you can throw it in my face (saying it's "off-topic" or "spamming") to clear the way so I can't participate anymore.
Moving on,
Maybe the forum management is away on annual leave or something. I see Saša posting and reading messages, but the guy also mentioned that cases like mine are handled by him and Božo. I don't see Božo around, so I assume Saša is waiting for his colleague so they can deal with my situation together. But is it really that hard for someone to step up to this thread and just openly say what the holdup is? It's been three days now. Saša, you asked me to have "a little patience." I respect that, truly, but there's such a thing as going too far.
Look, I don't think the issue is really about the block itself, per se... it’s more about how my complaint just seems to be hitting a wall. There's this total lack of response, a sort of dodging of the question, you know?
If there isn't going to be any action taken on this, then I guess what's the point of having a section for complaints at all? If nobody is actually looking into them, we might as well just scrap the whole topic.
Anyway, thanks for bearing with me. I'll just wait to hear from the people in charge.
Saša, seriously, just give Božo a nudge. You guys need to sort this out so I can finally get back to the car subforum. Please, don't make this harder than it needs to be. I mean, if you actually look at why I got banned in the first place... then a few other people showed up with basically the same take... it’s all a mess. There isn't even a real sense of what this automotive section is supposed to be anymore. People are just posting about everything under the sun—random contests, legal stuff, whatever. Just move the thread to the right place, please, and let me get back to talking about cars.
He's just like a block of granite, honestly. But then, out of nowhere, he catches fire just because I say something firm. It’s like, we aren't at some polite tea party where I have to watch every single word or walk on eggshells, you know?
Come on, please.
Sure. I've said my piece, and honestly, I feel pretty insulted by those comments you directed at me. There isn't much left to dissect here; I've laid everything out. I didn't really expect a concrete response from you anyway—just more dodging—but whatever, the case moves forward. I have no intention of wasting my time hanging around the car subforum over this. I’m just waiting on the moderators, though from what I can tell, the only authority figure around here goes by "The Boss," so I don't even know how to properly address them. I just hope they're actually following this thread and will step in soon.
P.S. For both my sake and the sake of my colleagues, that thread you started is going to be closed since it's basically pointless. I already stated my thoughts there, and I don't plan on revisiting it. People will come along who can vouch that I wasn't just talking nonsense.
1. You’re just spinning your wheels on this topic. People are telling you things that basically line up with what I already said, but you just snap back at them instead of letting them have their say.
2. I checked the official HŠ website and couldn't find anything about that contract, I only saw it mentioned in The New York Times.
3. You keep shutting down threads, vampir, Zlatko—not that I want to list everyone else. I'm actually locked out of the forum right now so I can't really dig through thread by thread, but people know. They've reached out and asked questions, but nobody ever gave them an answer.
4. To quote what you said: "I've already written what I had to say and I really don't have time for these nonsense."
5. This feels like an abuse of power, if I may quote you: "Well, I already wrote it over there, I'll just remove you from the forum... I really don't need that kind of garbage on this forum." You aren't the only one reading this, and what seems like garbage to you might not be garbage to someone else. There are things that seem like nonsense to me on the forum, but I just stay quiet. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but you seem to be disputing that.
6. I get what you're implying here, and it's pretty clear you think I'm stupid. You shouldn't be the one saying that. To quote you: "blind" (if I can even use a word that isn't more accurate)
7. Let me quote you one more time: "I love it when people pretend they don't know." I take that as an insult, especially since it was aimed right at me.
8. I suggested that the thread should be moved to the Legal section or that we should call in some experts to weigh in, and I got banned for it. Apparently, in your eyes, that counts as "continuing to troll." But then later, when another user suggested the exact same thing—someone I actually agree with—it was totally fine.
Also, I feel like the moderator Michael Lee4 isn't really stepping up. He kind of looks down on people here, calling me stupid, and he did the same thing to my buddy who happens to agree with me—labeling us as naive or just calling my posts complete nonsense. It feels like he’s dodging any real accountability too, since you aren't even allowed to file a formal complaint via PM. Meanwhile, his own unverified, unofficial thread is just sitting there fine, even though he shut down plenty of others just like it. He uses his position to talk about some weird sense of "equality" when it comes to corruption.
But look, he isn't the only one in charge here; he has supervisors, and I'm honestly waiting to hear back from them.
My posts keep getting dismissed as trolling. To quote STINGer, apparently I "don't agree with the other 20 people." But now that folks are asking the exact same questions I asked and thinking along the same lines, the moderator just starts making excuses and going off-topic.
It’s all centered around this thread:
I mean, it’s not my fault that Šimunić didn't make the roster for the Lakers, so things are messy.
Alright, whoever’s in charge here. I need an explanation. Why was my access to the car subforum blocked?
It feels like people who just suck up to the moderators or constantly go along with the crowd—basically just kissing ass to stay on everyone's good side—get to say whatever they want, while anyone who dares to disagree gets shut down. I haven't just shown up out of nowhere, either; I don't have some random five posts where I'm defending someone or backing up trolls for no reason. I was just sharing my actual opinion, which I guess is apparently against the rules now.
What's the deal? Is this a permanent ban or just a temporary thing?
