Lollapalooza 2010 !!!! in Music ·
redscout84 said:I know, but I end up spending a ton of time in Germany anyway since my brother lives there... and the pay is great, plus I know money isn't an issue for him, so why not treat myself once or twice? Especially if I get to hang out with my brother... it's perfect. 😍

I get that. It's just that both festivals are at the exact same time. You can't be in Nuremberg and at the Nürburgring at once. Maybe your brother would be sweet enough to pay for you to go to Glastonbury or something... 😁
Anyway, I'm seriously jealous. Rock am Ring is basically the best festival in the universe!👍

These are basically two sibling festivals with the exact same lineup. It’s really just one big festival held in two different spots. Lollapalooza is just on a larger grounds. The only difference is the set times, since obviously, no artist can physically be in two places at once. So, it's pretty much all the same to me! 🤣

I'm asking because my husband and I really want to go, but because of the kids, we won't know for sure until the very last minute. I don't want us to get our hopes up if that isn't an option...
Thanks!

Back in 2005, I actually called to ask if I could reserve tickets because I was panicking about driving all that way for nothing. They told me it wasn't necessary since the festival is so massive that they always have tickets available. We showed up on the afternoon of the first day and grabbed them without any trouble. But then again, last year the festival website said it was Sold out 3 weeks before the show! I guess it's probably better to just call and ask!

Man, I’m so jealous. I went to Lollapalooza back in 2005—it had basically the exact same lineup, just flipped around so everyone could play both shows—and it was hands down the best time of my life! I spent a ridiculous amount of money, but honestly, I don't regret a single cent. It was definitely the most legendary festival in the US during that era. And you know, maybe someone will end up buying you a drink; people can be so generous. I remember this one guy, I think he was from Poland, who literally scooped handfuls of grass out of a bag and handed it to us! 🤣

Rock am Ring was hands down the best time I've ever had! And just so you know, Billy Idol was performing this year too. Honestly, when it comes to the lineup and how things are run, Coachella can't even touch it. But hey, I guess I'll still end up going... 😁

Can anyone help me out? I’m not really sure where to ask this... A friend of mine just had her baby boy, and I was wondering if there's anywhere I can buy one of those newborn onesies that looks like a soccer jersey? Like, you know, the kind where you can add a last name on the back? The dad is a die-hard football fanatic, so I think it would really make them smile! Help!
I've read through all the posts, so I wanted to weigh in on a few things. It’s a little intimidating seeing how many people are totally worked up and just spitting venom at everything 😁, but this is a forum and I should be able to have my own opinion.

1. The sticks—I remember thinking it was so weird that Pharrell Williams didn't just grab one of those thousand sticks people were throwing at his head and jam it into some idiot's eye, just to see what would happen after such mindless behavior.

2. As for me, during the day I got splashed with beer, N.E.R.D. water, and then I basically soaked myself in beer because I forgot I was holding a drink 😂. By the end, I was hanging out with a member of Tricky's band over some herbal liqueur, feeling completely messy, but it never even crossed my mind to let it ruin my mood. I mean, what else do you expect from a festival? Maybe that lady with the beer and cigarette should just stick to chamber music concerts next time...

3. I had an amazing time, even if a lot of the bands aren't usually on my playlist. I just love the festival vibe. It’s so cool to see 15,000 people whose only goal is to have fun with the music... okay, except for the drunk kids who can't behave, and unfortunately, some of the older crowd too...

4. I actually missed Tricky's set because I thought he was finished, but I used to listen to his albums constantly back in the 90s and I loved him 😍. It felt totally surreal watching him dance for hours right next to us in the Nokia tent. The guy showed up just to party and spent the entire night smiling and chatting with anyone who approached him to take a photo. And btw, he was wasted; I literally saw him smoke a few joints right there 😁. Seriously, props to him for being so down-to-earth... I feel so bad that everyone is saying his performance was mediocre...

5. Did anyone else notice that you could practically sneak drugs, a bomb, a knife, or whatever you wanted into the festival in your underwear? They didn't even look at me twice...🤣

Oh, and... it's kind of funny how some people get so worked up and lose their minds just because someone has a different opinion than theirs. They remind me of those people at the Nightmare Stage who act like they're being personally insulted by someone just rambling, and then they start swearing like sailors. I don't know how anything like that can bother a normal person so much 🙂

Someone who saw it right before me was all like, "Oh my god, you HAVE to see this! The whole theater was dying laughing and giving standing ovations... blah blah blah."
Personally, I wasn't feeling it at all. There were parts where it was just so boring I thought I might lose my mind. It was way too predictable...🤷
