Allergies or an infection? in Health ·
I don't smoke, I don't drink... I even sleep without a pillow, and my mattress is a brand new Tempur-Pedic.

Tyler James5 said:It honestly baffles me that they didn't just toss you an antihistamine to try out, especially right now when the pollen count is absolutely insane... you’d know within a few days if it actually helped. But then again, I guess if you're headed in for testing, you can't touch the stuff or it'll totally mess up the results... so you're stuck waiting. Have you noticed any kind of patterns with how you're feeling? Like, any specific times of day or certain activities—maybe even just being in certain spots—that make things worse or better?

I actually feel worst right when I wake up because of the coughing. I've been using some nasal spray, too, but it seems to dry my sinuses out—which makes things pretty uncomfortable when I go diving. When I booked the testing, they told me I couldn't take any medication for ten days beforehand. It’s the first time I’ve ever had to deal with something like that; I've never had symptoms flare up this way before.

Hey there

I’ve been struggling with this weird, lingering cold for about a month now, and my doctor is honestly stumped. I don't have a fever, my stomach feels fine—no nausea or anything—and I'm not even running a ton of snot. But I’m constantly talking through my nose, coughing up phlegm a few times a day, and my throat just feels perpetually inflamed. To make matters worse, my ears get totally plugged whenever I hit even a tiny bit of elevation—even if it's just a small hill—and I can barely pop them no matter what I try. I went to see an ENT who checked out my nose, throat, and ears; they said everything looks inflamed, maybe from the AC, so they prescribed some Meralys drops, Bivacyn, and suggested gargling with sage tea. It’s been three weeks since I started that, and honestly? Nothing. Same old story. Now I'm scheduled for allergy testing to see if I'm reacting to something in the air. I even tried antibiotics like Amoxicillin and Sumamed, but those didn't do a thing either... nothing has budged.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? And if there are any doctors out there who might have a clue, I would really appreciate your insight.😁

I heard there’s this cream you can pick up—you just rub it on your hands and it basically makes you lose interest in whatever you're doing. Might be worth asking around at a CVS or a local Walgreens...
Dear Lara, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.😢😢

They had to do surgery, so I've got ten screws and a metal plate holding everything together inside. No cast, though.

On the surface, everything looks like it's healing up just fine, but I’m still too nervous to put any real weight on it.

The pain is pretty much gone at this point.

Does anyone have an idea how long it'll take before I can actually put some pressure on the leg? Just enough to squeeze a clutch so I can get behind the wheel and drive myself around again...

Oh man, a friend of mine had ten screws and a plate put in too, but she was already walking after two months—actually, she was even moving around sooner than that.

Seriously, props to you if you managed to deal with that all through the summer—you must have had enough breathing room around your toes. For me, the cast felt like it was suffocating every single part of my toes and even the skin underneath...

Aha, that’s awesome... I'm really glad to hear that.
I just hope you didn't have to deal with it during the summer—there's nothing worse than being stuck in a cast while you're sweating through your clothes and dealing with that constant itch.🙂
So, which hospital did they take you to for the casting?

Honestly, I’m not even sure if I have an allergy to plastic or what—plus, how long did you actually have to wear that cast? Did you have to deal with a splint before that?
I really hope you're feeling better now and that the pain has finally let up..

Yeah, he told me I'll be able to walk again...
Did you ever deal with someone like that?

So, what’s the deal with walking in one of those walking boots—you know, the ones with the built-in heel? Is it actually worth it to go out and buy a plastic brace myself instead of just waiting for the hospital to provide one? I ended up breaking my leg, and my doctor mentioned they’ll probably transition me into one of those once the splint comes off... so, has anyone here actually dealt with this before? Any tips?
Hey there.
Back when I was still a kid, the price for an exam was about $100—nowadays, honestly, I haven't the slightest clue, though that was just six months ago
